I just called on the off chance to switch my 1brm BW to a 2brm. I wasn't surprised that the studios were gone at BWV for 8/8 & 8/9 but shocked that the only studios left were at SSR! Yikes!

Remember that booking inside of 60 days, all unreserved units were turned over to cash reservations, plus, isn't it free dining season? Disney may be using DVC units to upgrade value resort guests like they have in past years.

Well the free dining starts the day after we leave so I do not think that is the reason. I guess other members were trying to avoid the free diners like me

I haven't read of any value upgrades on the resort boards as of yet & I am hoping this does not happen again. It really bugged me.

In order for DVC to "work" it operates at nearly 100% capacity year round. There are no "slow" times, just times of year when the rooms reach capacity sooner (like early December) and times of year where they reach capacity later (September). Bigger resorts tend to have rooms around longer than smaller resorts, so SSR and OKW are usually bookable after everything else is gone, but there is usually a time where very little or nothing at all is availabe - otherwise, people are not using their points.

Keep calling though. I read a post here just yesterday that someone was able to get a 1 bedroom LV at BLT just 4 days out (checkin in this Thursday).

They had been wait listed up until 7 days prior and nothing. They started calling each morning and low and behold, there was one.

So, it is possible that something could show up. Good luck!

One year my wait list for a studio to a 1br never came through, so when I was checking in I asked, and yes they did have one available, and I was able to use the points for the studio plus more from my account and get the room within 1/2 hour. I just thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Thanks. I did waitlist for BWV. Its not a huge deal but DH & I were thinking the teens will be happier (are their parents too) if we had more room to spread out.

I called Sunday and got a 1br at SSR for Aug 8-10 and a 1br savanna at Jambo for Aug 11-12. I had called a week before just to check if there was anything available (exploring possibilities) and was pleased to see there still was.

I really doubt all inventory is turned over to CRO at 60 days. I think inventory at 60 days can go either way, as needed.
