Lookout Cay long pier.

That's why it would have to be a light weight structure for pedestrian use only. Ten foot height at most to keep most of the dead load on the cement base of the pier. Just an idea.
They would still need to have a turnaround for the tram and there's no room for it now.

What's the indefensible decision? A walk on a pier? LOL.
Pixie Duster gonna keep Pixie Dusting! Have you seen the stock lately? SMH
Do you even understand Walt's vision for Disney and EPCOT? Disney was once a company that understood being innovative and imaginative. The people mover isn't a ride, it was Walt's vision for future transportation. It was a company that was forward thinking and always trying to do it better and different than anyone else. Sadly that is no longer true under the silly cultist that are in charge of Disney current.

I have no idea what a pixie duster is. If you don't like Disney don't give them your money....or give them your money and then complain endlessly on a Disney forum.
I've cruised on other cruise lines and loved those cruises. I've cruised about 40 times on multiple lines. I cruise DCL when the price and itinerary are what I want, and I will admit I like DCL.

Yes I've seen the stock prices. I don't own Disney stock nor would I ever purchase it.

I hope you write a review. Since the 10 minute walk isn't a hardship for a you I'm looking forward to an objective review of the rest of the island.

Ummmm.. I’m tempted to quote a batman movie ‘why so serious?’ But … you see when I said a short walk (on a long pier) it was a bad joke twisting the old insult ‘go take a long walk off a short pier.’ Maybe I just dated myself.

You can be sure I’ll share my impressions after visiting LC but it will be as objective as most of these comments. I find that having a good time is sometimes a matter of attitude, and I plan to have a great time. I love a clear ocean and soft sandy beaches. Good food will be abundant. Coconut drinks will be flowing. And work will be an ocean away. The rest is gravy. Someone said they read on the internet that people are staying on the boat. Great! More for me.

I am so happy to hear that you’re looking forward to it!
Yes people are staying on the ship but only a minority. Some others get off in the morning and are back by lunchtime, but most have enjoyed their entire day at a beautiful destination

I've never had a bad vacation. A minority stay on the ship at CC too. I don't spend more than a few at CC because I'm not a big beach person. Whenever we get around to going to LP I'll probably be on of the excursions.

that is the exciting thing about LC that most people gloss over, dont like the Disney offerings? you have a full range of actual excursions to chose from (like a real port).

And I agree, never had a bad vacation. some are more memorable than others, some have things that unforeseen challenges, but overall, still beats a day at work hands down.

and yeah, my comment about people staying on the boat at LC was sarcasm, I know some stay on at CC too, and its the minority in both cases. I was just.. semi rolling my eyes at the nay sayers that scour the internet for anything negative about LC and parade it without thinking what relevance it really has. No sure why they invest so much time. It's doubtful I will ever go to coco cay, I certainly wont waste time on forums about it.

I saw that too. Not sure how accurate it is.
Probably pretty accurate but they had to have already known about the long walk before booking that cruise. I'm wondering why they bothered to book that cruise going to that island if they were just going to stay on the ship? We specifically booked a cruise going to CC because we read about this island and it just doesn't look appealing to us. I just don't understand why somebody would book a cruise just to stay on the boat at port. But then again, it's their cruise and not mine so it's not really up to me to understand it.

When the goal of my cruise is relaxation, not sightseeing, then I choose based on length of cruise, which ship or total price including airfare.
Skipping one port doesn’t really impact my vacation overall.

We did two port intensive European cruises last Summer and an Alaska cruise this May. All those cruises were very busy and heavy on tours.

I booked a four day cruise on the Wish next month for the soul purpose of not doing anything. I'll get off the ship at CC and take a dip in the bath water temp ocean for an hour, but that's about all the time I plan spending off the ship.

Sure.. because random Facebook comments are known for accuracy, but we have had a cast member who has been there multiple times tell us its minimal. I know who I believe. (hint not random Facebook comment). Not to mention there have been conflicting reports of people saying so many people got off the ships that finding an empty spot at lunch was hard, or a place on the beach, and of course all those videos showing all those people walking off the boat, no doubt thats not accurate either. come on guys! Some people don't get off at castaway cay either. does it really matter?

Umm no. Lots of us had no idea when we booked LC sailings and then were past the date to cancel...

No need to attack me. I don't have a dog in this fight as I never plan on going to LC anyway. I just made a simple comment. I think a lot of people just need to relax a little bit. If you don't want to go to LC then don't go to LC. If you want to stay on the boat then stay on the boat. If you want to get off the boat then get off the boat. People are getting way too out of shape or what other people want to do or don't want to do. Take it easy.

I think it may have been the complete inaccuracy of this comment that drew responses:

LP has only been open for a month. The vast majority of guests who have stopped there booked their cruise quite a while ago. Yes they may have intentionally booked a cruise that stops at LP, but they did not know details of the island experience at that time and were not able to cancel after early reports came out.
