Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Mags,
Thanks for this thread. I really am excited to see it. Unfortunately, I have to wait until the Oct 31 cruise.

Can I ask about the Salmon? Did you notice how it is prepared? It looks yummy!
It’s grilled. It is yummy, definitely give it a try!

Thanks so much for those who've been to LC for answering questions! We were just looking at Scott's latest post (great pics of the nature trail https://disneycruiselineblog.com/20...se-at-disney-lookout-cay-at-lighthouse-point/) and my wife asked if anyone had made mention of mosquitos.

We're on the 02SEP Magic 4 night to LC & I thought I'd ask those who've been if mosquitos were an issue. Any word here?
I haven’t noticed any and haven’t been bitten

Update: food is back to being self-serve and there are NO flies
we were at LHP at Serenity Bay on Thursday, July 4th, and the flies were a problem for me. it seemed like a couple dozen were near the fish. when we went to a table, there weren't any until one of the servers brought over fresh grilled rib eye and then there were at least a dozen of them and I was swatting them away. the spinning fan worked for the immediate area it covered, but the flies were around the table. once we finished the ribeye, almost all the flies left us. did not check any of the other food service areas.
that being said, the beach and the water is amazing. we walked down to the lighthouse, about a 25-30 minute walk from Serenity Bay. beautiful scenery.
the walk from the ship seems daunting but it was fine. we did get lucky in our return to the ship because it was cloudy and the sun wasn't as harsh. overall, it is a great addition, but the only wrinkle are the flies.

once you are on the trail it is 25-30 minutes round trip. but we started at serenity bay, and we stopped for water and ice cream🙂, so additional 10-15 minutes each way for that

Did you happen to notice if the bike hire and bike trail is open yet?

a couple of questions. 1. How big are the waves, or are there non? 2. Can you walk to the beach from the lighthouse walk? 3. Can you get to the tip of the island?

Does the island have bikes yet. I’m assuming they have probably will by October 2025 when I go

Any concerns leaving your things at Serenity Bay, assuming you did so?

we didn't book a bicycle rental, but we got a general message that all bike rentals were canceled. when the tram stopped at the Goomba station there were a dozen bikes that looked like they were ready to go.

1)there were no waves. the water is crystal clear.
2) on the nature trail to the lighthouse, there is a fork. if you go left, it will lead to a small clearing. here you can walk thru a few trees down to the beach. if you go to the right at the fork, the path will lead to the lighthouse.
3) the lighthouse is surrounded by roping. there are signs to stay on the path. there were people that had walked out past the roping. it is a rocky path and you are certainly at your own risk.

Did it seem like a lot of people were taking the golf carts from the ship? Thanks for the review of Lookout Cay.

Thanks - fingers crossed they are close to opening the bike path then
