Looking to take a trip to Grand Canyon

When would the best time to go to the Grand Canyon and where to stay. Anyone that's been there? What else is there to do in Arizona? We've been wanting to do this for awhile but hoping to go sometime in 2005.

I went to the North Rim in May one year and it was a great time of year for the trip.

When I return to the Grand Canyon, I hope to also see Lake Powell--perhaps rent a houseboat.

If you fly into Phoenix for your GC vacation, I suggest you stop in Sedona. It is likely to be unlike anything you have seen before. If you do go to Sedona, I recommend a jeep tour.

Vince and I went there a few years back, hot time of the year, August. But very beautiful. We went to Phoenix, for 5 days or so. A quick one day trip to the Canyon, plus Sedona, Tuscon. Make sure to visit the Saguaro National Park , a real treat. Enjoy.

I went to the Grand canyon twice a few year ago. One time we took a helicopter flight out from Las Vegas, the other time we drove out as we were staying with a friend in Arizona and her dad took me and DH on a day trip. It was amazing, we saw 6 condoors that had been released back in to the wild a few days before Sorry I can't help on where to stay but I do recommend a helicopter flight if you can.
