Currently my mother and I have one thing we HAVE to do at Epcot... eatting around the world popcorn:: . I looked over all the menu's for the World Showcase CS places but there are too many options for me to wrap my brain around. So, I am asking for help.

What items at the different World Showcase CS places do the best at giving a true idea of that country? I would prefer small items or sharable for two so that we don't get full too fast :guilty: !

Thanks for any help in advance!

BUMP!

I'd like ideas, too! And if anyone knows vegetarian options, that would be great

We ate/drank our way around last year, had a blast. I tend to think that most of the countries are very Americanized so you really won't get a good taste of authentic food but it's fun regardless. We split just about everything (including drinks) because even though the portions are smaller, we got full fast.

Canada - has no CS but you can order the cheese soup to go from LeCellier, I learned after our trip

UK - we ordered fish and chips

France - cheese plate, pastries. They also have a crepe "cart" that I never get to taste since I can't pass up that cheese plate.

Morocco - we actually ordered sampler platters here because it's my fave CS at WDW and I couldn't pass it up!

Japan - we had plans to grab some sushi but were stuffed. They also have great Japanese packaged snacks and candy in the dept store if you want to get something like that. It's fun to check out all the imported stuff! They also have a sake bar =)

Mexico - nachos (ick.)

Germany - pretzel

Norway - pastries (I don't recommend the school bread which is a huge trend on this board, it was boring and disappointing. They have lots of other excellent treats in their display case we should have tried more of)

America - nothing, I am from America! =)

China - eggrolls

Italy - really don't have a CS or cart, but we had wine!

My best advice is to just decide what looks great at the time. I went with the idea that I would get certain things and then something else would catch my eye and I never regretted trying that instead. The only thing that I DID get was disappointing - and that was the school bread. I wish I had gone with my gut and chosen another great pastry instead (like DH did!).

If you are going to Epcot during the Food and Wine Fest you will love it, so much to sample! If you are not dont worry, there are still a ton of great things to eat...here are a few of our favs:

China: Egg rolls

Japan: Kaki Gori, sno cone with Melon flavoring

Germany: Brats with kraut, pretzel and apple strudel

Italy: Gelato

Norway: School bread, like a sweet break with a custard filling and coconut with icing on top

France: Ham and cheese croissant and the eclairs

Mexico : Churros, not too bad

Norway; you must try the Rice Dream, it is like Rice pudding, but much better IMHO :cloud9:

Germany try a soft pretzel from the cart, they are also IMHO wonderful!

Italy : Try the Icardi wine if you like a sweet wine, which I do. We had to buy a case to bring home it was so good! :cloud9:

France just about anything from the pastry shop and you can't go wrong, very light and not too sweet!

China Eggrolls from the counter service
Japan Sushi from the counter service
have fun and remember, PACE yourselves!!! just thinking about how easy it is to sample so many delicious foods so easily has me dreaming of our annual winter trip! popcorn::
