Hello all just returned from our holiday. Went to the DVC open house and I think it may be the way to go from now on. They offered me some "deals" that were only there for 72 hours...and after them I wouldn’t be able to use them. Well after coming home on Wednesday I decided to check the resale market and I could save so much £. Well after coming home I decided to look at the resale market even after our Disney salesman said " I wouldn’t bother buying resale you don’t get the same perks". These “perks” don’t seem good value anyway :/ so I’m fine with that. I’ve been looking at okw as I’m not fussed about having 40 odd years of vacation. The shorter the contract the better . Just been looking at getting 150 points as that enough to get 13-14 nights in September which is when we like to go :) . Oh and you can still use resale at any dvc resort (just checking)? My question is what would be a good price to pay for resale price per point for OKW. I’ve seen a contract I like the look off although the 2011 points have been used. That does not bother me as 2012 points come in at august. Any help or advice would be great and how much I should be paying per point as we all love a bargain ;)

Here is the info you need Anyone made it through ROFR.

It has all the current resales that have been reported by DISboards members!

Good luck!

Just scroll about halfway down the page and there will be a history for each resort.

Recent contracts have been in the $40-$55 range

Thanks theyve asked for $53 pp i think its abit steep as theyve used the points for 2011 does anyone agree or have any advice. UY in august and closing price is $425 any ideas on what you would offer. For 150 points using the above info.

Thanks in advance :)

Hopefully you put in a bid on that one, because I just looked at the contract that I think you were looking at, and it is sale pending.

These smaller contracts move quickly, and if you can find a small OKW contract listed for less than $55/pt, you might be best off to go ahead and pay the asking price, if the UY and existing points meet your needs. For the contract you are looking at, even if you got it for $5/pt less than the asking price, you are only looking at saving $750. That may not be enough to risk missing out on a contract that is just what you are looking for. That particular contract was listed 2 days ago, so I doubt that the seller would have even considered taking less than asking price at this point.

Watch the listings daily. . . new thing pop up every day. Better yet, call the popular brokers and get on a mailing list, or tell them what you are looking for and they may call you before the new listings even makes it to their website.

Good luck "home" hunting!!:thumbsup2

If you have time I would suggest you watch for new listings, wait and jump on a good deal. Don't just go for the first low price you see. I recently closed on a 150 pt BWV contract at 55 per point with 2011 points. This was $10 cheaper per point than I originally expected to pay. Of course I continue to watch prices and Fidelity had a similar listing just post for $50. I am very happy with my new contract, but another $750 less in price would have been nice.

Good luck!:)

I saw that Apr UY BWV on Fidelity, too. I called and spoke with Sharon, who said it was entered in error. I was really hoping it was my lucky day!!!:rotfl2:
