Hi! My husband and I are ready to replace our mattress and box springs. We are very uncomfortable and wake up with aches. I am embarrased to say that we realized our mattress is 18 years old! Time to replace....but a bad time of the year. We would wait, but we would love to get a good nights sleep. :thumbsup2

We have given ourselves a budget of $500. I know, not a lot, but this doesnt have to be our lifetime mattress.

Our current mattress set is a Serta that we purchased from Sams Club. I noticed that Macy's is also having a sale. There are a couple of Serta Mattress sets that fit our budget.

Is there any difference between the Serta at Sams Club and the Serta at Macy's? Also, we would be open to any other brands that would fit our size and budget. Thanks so much for any help!

In June I ordered the Serra perfect sleeper Adina plush pillow top set for my daughters new bed from SAMs online. It was 479 for the mattress and box spring including delivery. My daughter loves it! It does make her bed really high though depending if that's what you like!

Wow, you all are always reading my mind. Just when I think I'm going to post a question, someone else beats me to it!

I need to replace my queen as well, close to the same age. Do I really need a set? Could I only do the mattress and leave the boxspring? I'm a long time Sealy Posturpedic fan, so will be replacing one with another.

We've also been looking and I've been doing a lot of research. Basically what I've read was that if your springs are still firm/tight, then you can save money by using the same box spring. I think we are going to get a new one... ours is about 20 years old!

I see you are in Ohio...the ONLY place I will ever buy a mattress is Original Mattress Factory. They have many levels/price points. Go and check them out. Clark Howard consistently lists them as the best value for a mattress.

...especially if you only replace a mattress every 20 years, you don't want something that poops out in 5 years. FYI my mom has used the same mattress for as long as I have been alive...37 years, so don't feel bad about 18.
