Looking to add on - what incentives to look for

I am looking to add on about 100 point at AKV. My guide told me I could still get the last promotion ($120 - $20/point and a $500 gift card). I am not in any particular hurry to add on, although I would like to do so this year.

Do you think this is about as good of an incentive as I will find?

If I go to the Doorway to Dreams store on Long Island will they have better incentives?

Thanks so much!

I can say that prices for Disney seem to continue to climb higher. I don't think that $98/ppt is a bad deal for buying direct. Could it get better? Maybe, but it could also get worse.

AKV is going for a really good price on the resale market and some are getting it in the 70's (may have read the high 60's too!). It may be worth checking that out if you are in no big hurry and don't carry about the restrictions that come with resale points.

Good luck!

As Sandi said, Animal Kingdom resales are selling in the mid $70 per point. Use the link above to see our current inventory. If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call. We are open 7 days a week.

Like Sandi and Robert have said, your best value (if you don't care about the restrictions) is to go resale.

If you are set to go direct, my guess is that this is about as good a deal as you're going to get.

I'm not seeing that incentive for direct purchase anywhere! Sounds like a very nice deal if you can get it- if you treat the $500 gc as $5 per point, that's a $95 effective price, which I believe beats resale for a contract that small through saving closing fees and getting a loaded contract.

So... Where are you seeing that offer? :rolleyes1

We purchased earlier in the month with that exact offer and had it split into 2 50 pt contracts. Still waiting on the giftcard.

DVC is now charging closing costs so resale is still going to be a better deal since a lot of them are selling in low to mid 70's per point and there are a few of loaded contracts! Even if you paid 80.00 per point with closing cost/MF resale it still comes out over 1500.00 less.

DVC is now charging for closing costs? Even if you pay cash?

Low/mid-70s appear to be stripped contracts or large contracts.

Hi I was approached by a DVC salesperson yesterday. I would love any info people could give me about their experiences with DVC. Not sure if this is the right thread. I am new here, thanks

I think you should start a new thread, one of your own and ask more specific questions. I am new here myself and have an offer on a property right now that I am waiting to hear back on (keeping fingers crossed) or I would fill you in myself. You could also just browse through the 1,000's of posts that are already here.

Good Luck!
