In your opinion are the autograph books, penny press books, epcot passports, or any of these things a must? I found a package from gifts of a lifetime that offered these with mickey ears and a "fat" pen for 50 bucks, but before I shell out any I wanted to find out if any of you used them alot? :confused3

I think autograph books and penny press books were each $6, and you can get a cute Mickey or WDW pen for $3-5, so unless epcot passport books are around $30 (which I'm sure they aren't) it doesn't seem like much of a "gift of a lifetime" to me.

For my DD7, the autograph book and fat pen are a must. We collect pressed pennies, but don't use those book - they don't hold enough per book to be worth it for us..... we'd spend a small fortune on those books to hold our collection. The EPCOT passport is fun, but not an absolute must - the (free) mask the kids create along the Kidcot stations can serve the purpose just as well.

That said, $50 involves a markup over what we've spent on those same items in the parks.......... I'd purchase those things you really want at the park or find another source such as a Disney store or some such.

My girls (3 and 6) love the autograph books, and it makes Disney so much magical. They thumb through them once in awhile, and we have a lot of pictures with the kids/characters too.

My oldest daughter liked to trade pins with the cast members, so you might want to look into that too.

We love all of these items, but I certainly suggest that you purchase them once you arrive - except for the Epcot Passport, which is bought at Epcot, the others are plentiful - everywhere and much cheaper than $50.

Don't order in advance, unless you simply must. You will pay extra.

Autograph books - a must ($6.00)

Fat pens - not a must, easier for characters to handle, pick up any fat pens at home for less if you want

Epcot passport - not a must, but cute (I'd sum it up as "educational, sticker fun") but the kids can make masks, and stop at each country to do this, for free, no need for the passport (10.00)

Pressed Pennies - not a must do, but cute, fun, a nice diversion. We do this every trip. Each penny .51 and the books are about $6.50

Mickey Ears - I don't remember the price, but that's a must do for us. We bought them once a long time ago, and bring them with us each trip.

Hope that helps!
