Looking for Univ. Resort on Priceline

Hello, I really want to stay at one of the universal resort hotels (1 of the 3). I am trying to book on Priceline, but I don't know which category to choose!! On expedia, it lists the three universal hotels as 4 stars, but on priceline, there is a "resort" category. I am tempted to just pick the 4 star category, but i don't know if I will get one of the 3 universal hotels, and I really want to stay in one!!! expedia shows those as the only 3 four star hotels in universal area, so I wonder what priceline would consider as resort hotels?! I could get the 4 star for (i'm hoping) about 65-75/night. The resort goes up to about 100/night. I know that either price is way cheaper than if i were to book off of the site itself, but I would really like to get the 4 star price. does anyone use priceline to book these universal hotels? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

Please check betterbidding and mousesavers before bidding on a priceline hotel. According to both sites, the difference in icons seems to be the childrens or lack of childrens icons. I believe that all of the onsite hotels have these. This is a cut and paste from betterbiddings site about the 4* from priceline. Notice that none of them are Universal hotels.

sammy66 is correct. You can't get a Universal on-site hotel (Hard Rock, Portofino, & Royal Pacific) thru Priceline.

I have read that it sometimes comes up thru Hotwire and the way to tell IS the children's icon being listed in the ammenities, as Sammy66 suggested.

If you go thru Priceline to save, do check betterbidding or biddingfortravel.com (I used this site to help when I used Priceline). A great place to get advise on how & when to bid. Last Feb I got a 4* (Marriott Orlando World Center-awesome!!-for 83/night).

The resort category, last I knew, had nothing listed because there is only one "resort" level hotel available in the Universal/Seaword area...the Renaissance....which is currently undergoing renovations, so they have temporarally placed it in the 4* category.

Good info dfest. In the 3* we've got Wyndham for $32.
On Hotwire be careful of the icons for RPR. Westgate Lakes has the same with the additional kitchenette icon.

Good to know, mother, about westgate lakes...didn't know that!! I hear that place isn't so great. How did you like the wyndham? Is that on I-drive?

Wyndham is on Sandlake and I drive. The kids loved it because of the pools and activities. The pools were open 24 hours which was fun. The room is "motel". We have had a room that smelled musty and another that was great for $32.
Westlake was actually pretty nice. We had a king suite for around $59. It had a kitchenette, large screened porch, jacuzzi tub in the bedroom with shower in the bathroom. Housekeeping was nonexistent.
