I was looking for some romantic things to do while at the world for our annivsary. I know there once was a thread with this info on it but I can't find it now so I was hoping all you wonderful Disers would help me out.

I have heard about the carriage ride at POFQ and something about the rose garden at MK. I know there has to be some great romantic things at the world and I would like to take advantage of them.

Thank you all ahead of time for your help, once agian.

DW and I made our first trip to WDW alone for an anniversary. One of the best things we did, and the one that brings us the best memories is the Luau at the Polynesian. It was a hot day in July, but we had the best of times. The food was fine, the dessert was good, the show was great, but what we remember the most is the fact that all Honeymooners and Anniversary Celebrators got special recognition and were invited to go onstage for a celebration dance. It was a blast and DW and I will always cherish this anniversary and the luau for making it extra-special.

What exactly does getting re-hitched entail? My DH is kind of shy:o

DH and I are planning the following for our 10th anniversary trip in September....

*A couples massage at the Grand Floridian.
*Lunch/Dinner in Cinderella's Castle (you can't beat the location...it's magical) princess:
*Carriage ride at POR (that's where we are staying....the pictures I have seen of the resort look very quiet and romantic in themselves)
*Illuminations Cruise
*Rehitching Ceremony at the Garden Grille
*Watching the Electric Water Pageant from the POLY beach

Hope my ideas help you in some way. If you have any questions, I will try to answer them. I haven't done any of these things yet, but my research has certainly paid off. ::yes::

Apparently when you check in at the Garden Grille, inform them that you want to get "rehitched". During the course of your meal, a member of the wait staff will come out and perform a mini rehitching ceremony. They tell you to kiss to the count of 100 (while counting by tens), and the celebration ends with a little anniversary cake. Alot of times, the characters are also involved. I have yet to do this, but this is what I have found in my research at various Disney websites.

thanks for the info sounds fun!::yes::

I'm glad you posted this thread, as we have our 20th planned and I need some ideas too!

Just read this on another thread -- they booked the carraige ride from FW at 8:30, then asked the driver to take them to a good spot to see Wishes. THey said it was great.

My ideas:
I bought special bar soap from a spa that we can both use.
I bought a small heart shaped stone (v-day after sale) that I will give him with a little note.
I got him a CD that has a lot of the Wilderness lodge music on, which we both loved when we stayed there.
I bought a card and keep looking for another one that is "just right'
I plan on writing him a love note, figuring I will give him one a day.
I booked the Segway tour as a surprise.
I got 2 of the wedding candle scent from yankee candle.
I want us to pick out a bottle of wine from one of the Epcot countries - buy 2 and take one home for next anniversary.
We are going to have dinner at the CG on our actual anniversary.

Now what I am hoping HE will do - LOL:
Dozen yellow roses the day we check in.
Book a carriage ride from port orleans or fw
Have a nice card for me

some things we did

monorail drink tour....started out with dinner and drinks at cali grill...took the monorail to the poly...had a drink and walked the beach and the monorail or walk over to th GF...we walked it was beautiful

Get yourself a bottle of bubble bath at basin in the marketplace and have a bubblebath for 2

dinner at cali grill during Wishes.......request a window seat

If I think of anymore...I'll reply again

ohhh....and watch the electric water pageant from the beach at the poly or at the GF

I was thinking about haveing a basket put in the room on our annivsary. I have made baskets before and they are a lot of fun and really a great romantic atmosphere. I have a pretty good idea of what i want to put in the basket. I am thinking of seeing if the resort would put the basket in the room for us when we go out for dinner. Does anybody know if they would do this?

I am also very thankful for all the help I have gotten off of these threads. You peoeple are such a wonderful help. I am being able to plan pretty much everything which is helping me with m budget. I can know just about exactlly how much i will need. Thnak you
