Looking for some (much needed) CRV speculation...

Glad I found this thread! Anyone willing to throw some numbers out regarding point cost? I notice it's been asked but no one is really saying. I'm worried that it's gonna be out of my price range. Never really thought it would cost that much more than the others. :confused3 A little more, yeah, but a LOT? Geez, I hope not. Well, that's why I'm on here tonight....to LEARN.

It will definitely be higher than AKV, but it can't be too much higher. They have sales going on on too many fronts....they can't have that much internal discrepancy. Some, sure, but it can't be out of control.

I figure at least a $10 point price increase and then a "limited time" offer taking some or all of that back. So if it's $104 now then figure it will be $114 with let's say $5 off....$109?

That is what I am thinking....it will be just over 100 for CRV, just under 100 for AKV....lower 90's for any remaining SSR (if there is any). Figure that MF's will be very high $4 range or low $5. I think the MF's will still be within a dollar of other resorts, but Monorail will inevitably increase MF's. New buyers might not see it as much difference, but it will be couple hundred a year per contract.

Ok. That's not out of control. Whew. I was getting worried there for a minute. I'm just now learning about DVC and it's 'offers'. Will they not be offering to match points on this one? You guys just expect a special credit offer? They offered both for SSR. Well, not both TOGETHER. You had to choose which offer you wanted (match points or $10 credit per point)....which you already knew that. :upsidedow

They are going to roll back the prices to the 1998 level for that resort.

Hey I might as well start rumotr too I beleive it will be 8-75-80 a point .:rotfl2:

This out get you all excited about nothing :rotfl:

Sorry in advance for my ignorance into what really goes into the maintenance fees but,.......Wouldn't MF be lower for a high rise like CRV? I would think "usual" MF are pretty equal for all DVC resorts with the front desk fees, house maintenance fees (not including grounds/pool). The ground maintenance fees should be much lower for a high rise with much less "land". Though I'm speculating the pool area seems to be kinda "basic" considering pools like at BCV.

There is the MF associate with the monorail (:yay: for rail access). This fee, to me, should be just for a "lobby" area. Would they actually put in fees to "upkeep" the monorail itself? Does DVC already add in the cost of the busses as part of the maintenance fees? If so, then I would guess they would add in the cost of the monorail maintenance. Otherwise, the additional costs should be just for the lobby area to board and unboard. Just my thoughts, of course I have no real input. It's just fun to speculate. :cloud9:

I was thinking the same thing regarding high-rise. Disney will do what they want though and justify it anyway they please.

Maintenance fees include a "transportation" component. This is a contracted pricebased on estimates of need for a year. Just as when you rent a bus for a group trip, that cost includes driver salary, bus maintenence, bus purchase, etc. under the rental fee. Same thing with the monorail, the fees would be contracted under "transportation" but would include the above costs. "Transportation" would estimate their cost to provide the service, and a little profit, and contract for that with DVC.
