Looking for shoes I saw a lot at WDW...

Hi - We just got back but while we were there I saw a TON of people - men, women and children - wearing shoes that my MIL loved. I thought I might get them for her for C'mas if you guys can help me out :)

They looked like rubber gardening clogs with a slingback strap. People had them in all sorts of colors - rede, pink, purple, lime green, white, taupe, etc...

Can anyone tell me the brand/name/etc...?

TIA! :goodvibes

Crocs.. They are wonderful!! Not very eye pleasing ( in my opinion). My daughter has two pairs.. They are about 30 to 35 dollars. I know payless shoes has a style very similar and i'm told they are just as confortable.

Where's a good place on line to shop? Do they run big or small? What about kids sizes?

Thanks!

They run big and yes they have kids sizes. If you have very small feet, a kids size might work better. I bought mine directly from a CROCS stand in a mall. The salesman told me the sizes can run differently. The ones made overseas (China maybe??) run a bit smaller than the ones made in Boulder. He said they can vary a bit so try on a few different pairs in the same size. My family of four has them, we have never worn them at the same time but will next week at WDW which will probably look really stupid but oh well! I see families in matching shirts which I think looks cool so hopefully people won't think we are weird!

One of the CNAs I work with had a pair on the other day. Very sensible since we usually get our feet soaked when assisting with showers.

A word of warning. She spilled something on hers (white by the way) and tried to use bleach spray to get it off. They tinged yellow.

Now, are you all wearing them with or without socks? I find that part a bit coufusing. I would think without might give you blisters.

I wear them with socks, especially if I am going to walk a bunch or have them on for very long. I am the blister queen so I am usually erring on the side of caution! The one time I wore them all day without socks I could feel the beginnings of a blister so I don't chance it now.

I wore my Crocs most of last week at WDW, and they were great. I've had them for about a month now. They're super comfortable, and I wear them everywhere except church in my normal life.

I did have a couple of problems with them rubbing a spot on the top of my foot when I was walking in them all day at WDW, which caused me to alternate a little bit between them and my Teva flip-flops, but I wished I hadn't done that when I slipped on a wet spot while wearing the Tevas and sort of did the splits, landing hard on one knee. I know that wouldn't have happened in my Crocs, because one of their many advantages is that they have great traction!

I can also attest that they keep your feet from smelling - it's really amazing. They advertise an "antimocrobial surface" which I guess is the thing that does the trick.

I have tried on the Payless and WalMart knockoffs, and I don't think they would be as good. Crocs have an orthotic footbed, which is what makes them so great on your ankles and knees.

Im an Anti-Socks - kinda girl.... Anyone wear their Croc's *without* socks, and have no problems either???

I was eyeballing these babies last year... I found 'em to be cute. And with this weekend my family and I goiung to Fright Fest (I know - Im a traitor!) I thought I'd pick up a pair, since it's pay-week, and all!!! :cool1:

BUT ONLY - if Im sockless.... anyone?? Ill be purchasing the FUCSHIA ones!!! :Pinkbounc

And do you ever wear socks with these things? Most of the socks I wear are rather thin...not bulky like a sweatsock...but I wondered as when we go in January it might be cool at night.

I have terrible feet and they ache in any shoes I buy..so I am willing to give these little "beauties" a try!

Anyone wear them sockless, all the time at Disney World, and have no problems?

Many of us like our tootsies to breathe!!! :thewave:

Who goes sockless with these babies, with no raw skin afterwards?!?!?

Im so excited - Ive really like these htings for awhile, and never heard / read any feedback on them. :thewave:

I had to make a special trip to buy mine . Had to try them on in person. I bought 2 pair . Beach style in baby blue and the Metro style in black. I love both but the Metro's are way more comfortable, especially if they're warm ( they mold to your feet)and the bumps inside aren't as pronounced. I did notice a bit of hair pulling on the top of the feet ( and I don't have hairy feet ) so I probably will take black ankle socks to wear with them in Dec. I do wear orthotics in my sneakers and I'm hopping the arch support inside the croc's will be enough for a full day of walking. I have worn my metro's all day at home with no discomfort but I guess it's not the same as being on your feet all day at the World . We'll see. Elisa

Ha! I've seen these all over my town--most recently at Sports Authority. I had never heard of them before. Now after reading all these positive testimonials, I feel compelled to go buy a pair before my WDW trip!

YES, CROCS!!! DD and I both have some...she has the traditional style and I have the Niles, a sandal style. VERY comfortable, and NOT RUBBER. The material is a patented material that does not make your feet sweat. They are awesome!!!

I have a pair that I've worn for about a month now. It took my fiance 6 months to convince me to try them, but they are very comfy. However, my feet DO sweat in them (I don't wear socks with them) and it causes my foot to slide around some while I walk b/c of the material of the shoe. I wear them a lot without socks, though, so I don't think that would be much of a problem for anyone.

I've had mine for a few months now and have never worn them with socks. I have never gotten any blisters but on some occasions have gotten really sweaty in them. I have never worn them to WDW but have worn them other times where I was in them for hours or on my feet for all day and had no problems. LOVE THEM!!!!

I have the Nile crocs and my DH and DD12 have the Payless style. My husband wears his ALL the time...I never would have guessed that he would actually put them on his feet and now they hardly ever come off!!

What model do all y'all have?

I was wondering this too - the website shows 3 different "styles" but just eyeballing them and reading the description, I cant tell the difference. :confused3

My sister and nephew live in theirs -- my nephew wore his for 6 weeks at summer camp and up to now every day at school. Bright orange!

I think they're pretty ugly, but I guess they're comfortable!

He did not wear socks and wore them pretty much every waking hour, for nearly every activity at camp, so they should hold up at Disney.

I wear mine without socks all the time and they are fine. The sizes run very different depending on what model and where they were made. The Cayman and Beach are very similar but I find the Cayman to be narrower than the Beach. In addition the Cayman is more true to size. If you can find a place to try them on I would definately recommend it.

Thanks for the great tip on these shoes. :goodvibes Never heard of these before but went to their website and I have ordered myself a pair and my daughter a pair. I hope they are as comfortable as they state in their add.

I got mine right before I went to a NASCAR race in April. I wore them the entire weekend (even in the shower for shower shoes). I wore socks the first time but then decided I didn't need socks. I did get a small blister on the side of my foot (where the buckle attaches) but it was a flat blister (if that makes sense). I have the Beach model with the holes in them. My feet do sweat a little in them, but if you are walking the air holes send air in and dry your feet. They are ugly and at first I felt odd wearing them, but after wearing them for about a day, I said who cares what they look like. And they are a conversation starter!! The brighter colors the better!! I agree that you should try them on. I have three pair and one is roomy and loose and the other two are more form fitting.

These are truly the most comfortable shoe. I wore them all summer and when I put my Brooks running shoes on to go back to the gym when school started again, my Brooks shoes, which were the most comfortable shoe I owned, did not feel as comfortable as the Crocs. I wear them without the sling back (more like a clog), but when we go to the beach, lake or tubing, I wear the sling and they become my water shoes.

THE most comfortable shoe you will ever own. I had minor foot pain before, now I don't. CindyML
