Looking for reviews on the Hoop De Doo

That is the perfect age for the HDDR. We love the place, its non stop comfort food, we found both the fried chicken and ribs delicous. Its not fancy and its pricey but to us it was worth it. Its all you can eat and for the adults its all you can drink beer (it has to be their draft beer, I think we got Bud Light maybe) or sangria. The show is very cute, the food was wonderful and my kids still talk about it.

I say give it a try! You'll probably get lots of opinions but for my family, we never have regretted going. I wish we could go every trip.

Oh, I also enjoy going over to the Ft. Wildnerness area, its very pretty.

My kids loved it when we went and they were 4, 7 and 8. The food isn't top notch but its okay and you're really paying for the show.

Yes, it's a HOOT. It's just silly fun. Good comfort food and plenty of it. We see it every 3rd trip or so. It's good bang for your buck. Enjoy! :thumbsup2

The food was good, the show was cute our daughter loved it my only issue was getting back to our resort after. It took us almost 3 hours same thing happend the next year when we went to Mikeys BBQ

We were just there last year with a 7 and 4 year old. I think the pic says it all?

Yes, as PP said, good comfort food, cute show (my FIL was even chosen as part of the show!), lots of fun!

Kara, that picture does say it all! I mean do those kids look like they are having a ball or what??

We love the show and the food. I don't think you can go wrong -- especially considering the ages of your children. Have fun!

Another vote here that Hoop de Doo will delight your kids. The fare is traditional (read: a touch unhealthy and greasy) but there is a ton of it. The show is funny pretty much no matter who you are. Kids especially should love it. Our then-two year old even was transfixed.

All the kids in our grand gathering LOVED it! We had 2--7 year olds, 1- 10 year old, 1- 12, 1- 13, 1-37 year old, 2- 40 year olds and a 41 year old kid. All the parents were there ;) Well, I guess our parents are all kids too--right?? Can't recommend it highly enough for good food and great fun. That is as long as you don't take yourself too seriously!

I haven't read the rest of the replies yet, but we went this past Sept with my 2 year old boy and 7 year old girl. They LOVED it!Even my 2 year old was lol..although he had no clue why! The food was pretty decent as well. I mean it wasn't your grammas fried chicken, but it was a fun experience. We have decided we need to do it once every trip :)

Our kids were four and one in December when we did the HDDR and loved it! Especially the one year old... He thought it was great:) and the food was good too. I don't really like BBQ ribs but they were really great! We are trying Mickeys BYBBQ this time in May. I heard that was a good time as well. Also after dinner we went to roast marshmallows and watch a movie at The campground. There is also wagon rides available right near the Hoopty. So much fun for the kids!

I also would give a thumbs up to doing the Hoop Dee Doo. :thumbsup2 My kids have done it twice and they still talk about it. It is one of their favorite shows. I would encourage you to give it a try!:)

Is there only one show per night? How long does the show and dinner take?

Does anyone know if this is 2 credits if you are using the meal plan??? I am just trying to figure out how many meals and where we will have with the regular dining plan & cs. Thanks

I wasn't sure how my kids would have liked it (they were 7 and 10 then). But for those of you who have seen this, you know what I mean, when they saw their Grandpa in a tu-tu at the end of the show, they loved it!
The food was great and it is well worth the price.

To the best of my knowledge, there are three shows. The price of the show goes down with each show. One suggestion is to go to the early 5:00pm show. That should leave time to go to the campfire singalong and outdoor movie. My DW and I did this last year and we will repeat this year with our DSs. Although we did not attempt it, you might be able to fit in the 7:00pm hayride as well

Three shows, 5, 7:15 and 9:30. the price is the same for each, and each show has 3 tiers of pricing, more expensive(tier 1) nearest the stage. Two credits for either tier 2 or 3, or tier 1 for 9:30 show. Your 2 credits, or your oop price, includes beer, wine or soda, all you want, and your tip. Transportation is provided from Pioneer Hall to all resorts after the last show. The food is great(did anyone pention the cornbread?) and the show is slap your momma funny.
