I'm looking for a Christmas jello salad recipe for dinner on Christmas day.

Any suggestions? Strawberry or Cherry? Not too into cranberries.

Need the recipe too.

Thanks!

I like to use cherry (black cherry if you can get it). Use cherry coke for the liquid and add canned cherries (not maraschino) and canned pineapple. You can also substitute the liquid with ginger ale or sparkling water (plain or flavored but not sweetened) and add any fruit or marshmallows,

I make a Strawberry Pretzel Salad at Christmas that everyone likes -

INGREDIENTS

2 1/2 cups crushed Pretzels (not powdered) - I put the pretzels in a gallon-size Ziplock bag & bang away w/ my wooden tartlet thingie - you want them in pieces & not powdered.
3/4 cup Butter or Margarine - I use butter
3 Tbsp Sugar
1 8 oz. package Cream Cheese
3/4 cup Sugar
1 8 oz. Cool Whip - see note below
3 pkgs. Strawberry Jello, 3 oz. each
3 cups Hot Water
1 pt. Frozen Strawberries

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix pretzels, margarine, and sugar; press into 9 x 13 pan. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Let cool. Whip cream cheese and sugar; fold in Cool Whip. Spread on cooled crust. Stir Jello and water; put frozen berries in hot Jello. Chill until just beginning to thicken. Spread on cream cheese layer. Refrigerate.

NOTE: I'm not too much of a fan of Cool Whip - For the above, I once made my own whipped cream (using heavy cream) instead, but the consistency didn't hold up as well. It was okay - just didn't stay as fluffy, if that makes sense.

This is what I was going to suggest too. It's our favorite but that cherry jello dish sounds great too. I grew up eating Sunday dinner at my grandma's house and she always had some sort of fancy jello salad.

The simple favorite at our house is applesauce jello. I don't have exact measurements, but I cut down the water about a 1/2 cup when making cherry jello and then stir in a cup or maybe a cup and a half of applesauce and let chill.

Same thing but with Raspberry jello. And add small drained can of crushed pineapple for variety, gives nice texture and taste
