Looking for Reasonable Hotel Stay for 5

I’m now planning a trip to Disney in mid to late January. Due to our needs we’ve stayed off-site on our previous visits. Basically, we need 8 nights of comfortable sleeping arrangements for 5 people (2 adults and 3 kids ages 17, 13, and 11), a real kitchen (fridge/freezer, oven an microwave) and a washer and dryer. I guess I can live without the washer and dryer but it really makes things easier.

I can get an AirBnB for about $1000-$1200 that would provide those three things. I’m willing to pay a small premium for a Disney hotel but nothing crazy. Is there any way to get what I’m looking for for under $1500? Under 2,000?

I have a feeling the answer is no but I just wanted to check here in case there’s anything new. I’m not looking for anything luxurious but we really need a kitchen in order to eat during our stay.

I do not thing a resort property will be in that budget. You can rent DVC points but yu need to do that well in advance, and I am not sure a villa that will fulfill your needs would come in at that price.

The cabins in Fort WIlderness would suit your family needs, however they are coming in at $3000 for the stay without a discount.

The thing about WDW resorts is that in general they are really rooms and not true villas unless you book one of the DVC properties, and those are pricy. IMO, If you really want a kitchen and accomodations that are spread out, and you want to keep a budget that is under $3000 you will want to look offsite.

We stay at Sheraton vistana the first time i booked it on costco for about 200 a night., the next time i booked it on skyauction.com. if you go to sky auction watch the fine print for your total price for the stay. I get 7 days for around 450.00 but there are some weeks that are higher and lower.
There is a thread on here for vistana that has great pics the rooms are awesome 2 bedrooms living room full kitchen and washer and dryer.

That would be a tough one. You would need at least a 1BR villa that has beds that sleep 5 based on your criteria. Even renting from an owner at the bargain rate of $10/point (good luck finding that!) and assuming anything is even available, you would pay north of $2300.

Stick with the AirBNB, you're not going to come close on price onsite, with all of your needs.
Thanks. I think that’s what I’m going to do. Just wanted to see if Disney added any family type reasonable suites in the last 4 years.

Now I need to learn about all the loopholes that have been closed in the last 4 years.

DVC accommodations that meet your needs are $500+ a night. You'll have to stay off site to stay within your budget and what you need.

Pretty much all of them.

Yeah, it seems that way. Oh well, they're taking the fun out of planning for a Disney trip. I'd pay a premium for the Disney hotel benefits but I'm not going to pay a 300% - 500% premium amounting to an extra $2500 - $4000 just for Disney hotel perks.

Yeah, you can't even get suites at the Disney Springs "official" WDW hotels (The ones that get the 60 day fastpasses and EMH) that include a full kitchen. If you'd be willing to give up the stove and the washer/dryer in unit, the Doubletree has suites that sleep 6 for around $200-250 a night depending on when you're going. Otherwise, you're better off renting a house to get everything you want.

I second Vistana, or also Caribe Royale, which is just off property on 536, and has 2 bedroom villas with king bed in the master, 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom, and a pull out couch, along with the full kitchen and laundry room in unit, usually for 250-300 a night.

Just checked prices. A family suite al All- Star Music is around 235 a night. Its very nice. 2 bathrooms and a nice kitchenette.
The cabins can be good with a discount at that time of year but probably over $325. If you request loop 2500 the laundry room and pool are at the front of the loop. Disney has released the discount for that time so check it out.

With two teenagers onsite could work better so they can go on their own and have transportation.
