Looking for points chart history...

We are seriously interested in buying into DVC but I would like to see a points chart from a few years back to see how they have changed. Can anyone help?

Point Charts have been changed (so far) twice over the past 18+ years (but the 2011 charts have not yet been released and there may be more changes).

From 1991 thru 1995 there were no changes (OKW was the only resort at that time). In 1994, the Point Chart for 1996 was published with modifications (again at OKW) where some nights were raised a few points and some were lowered a few points. This may be done as long the total number of points needed for a year of reservations at the resort remains the same. As new resorts were added beginning in 1995, the Point Charts remained unchanged thru the next 14 years.

In January,2009 changes were again announced for 2010 and the 2011 charts are expected any time now - possibly with more changes (again, as long as the total points needed to reserve each resort for the year are not changed, these reallocations are allowed in the program).

Here is a link to a download showing the point charts from 1996 - 2009 - this was created by Caskbill, a moderator on the DVC Forums for many years until we unexpectedly lost him in summer, 2009 - DVC-Chart.

His planning tools have been used by many on these boards, but have not been updated since last spring. An update is expected in the near future.

That is exactly what I was looking for. That is what I had heard, but I just wanted to know the likely hood of us buying enough points for what we want according to current charts.

We will probably wait to see the 2011 charts to gauge difference between 2009,2010,and 2011.

We appreciate the help.

Just wish we had gotten in on this much much earlier-this should be paid off by now instead of just getting started!!
