We have a daughter that is extremely frightened of loud noises (fireworks, balloons popping, etc.) She has a really bad case of fight-or-flight, and she really just cant help it.

She loves to watch the fireworks, just doesnt like all the noise, so I have booked a late dinner at San Angel Inn at Epcot in hopes that we will be able to see Illuminations from there, as I saw a post a long time ago that said this was possible. I am looking for other good places to see fireworks from that would not be right in the middle of it. We usually bolt before the booming starts, but would really like to give it a try this time. Any ideas?

I heard that you can see the fireworks from narcoosee's at the GF. I do not know if this is true, but i am hoping since DBF and I will be there for a late dinner to see the MK fireworks.

San Angel Inn is, to the best of my recollection, a totally interior restaurant, without windows looking outside. I seriously doubt you would be able to see fireworks from this restaurant, though I may be wrong.

We have eaten at the Cantina de San Angel (the counter service restaurant outside) to watch Illuminations. This probably wouldn't work for your daughter, though, because it's right on the lagoon, so you definitely hear the loud fireworks noises.

I don't know what resort you're staying at, but if you happen to be staying Boardwalk concierge, you can see the fireworks in the distance from the lounge balcony there.

We've seen Illuminations (somewhat - blocked view) from the window of Bistro de Paris, but this is a more expensive, elegant dining choice than San Angel Inn. I've heard that you can see them from the Matsunoma Lounge in Japan, but I've never seen the fireworks from there.

For Wishes, you can see these from Narcoossee's, California Grill, 'Ohana, and an obstructed view from Citricos.

Cheers!

Narcoosees is great for fireworks. They will even let you go out on the patio to view but we could see fine from our table. Very romantic place for you and DBF. Not sure I would consider it a great place for kids though oobidoo.

Must have been the counter service that I saw. I guess one of us could walk her out into the gift shop, and maybe she can see if from there.

After dinner at Narcoossee's, we walked over by the boat launch where several of the guests were able to view the fireworks. My son loves to see them but not hear them. IT was perfect! I had made our adr's for our first night there and boy we were not disappointed! Another added bonus, that i was not aware of was the water show(I don't remember what they called it) my son was delighted! In betweeen courses, he was able to step on the deck and watch it form there naturally whlie peaking on our table to see if his entree came!

I made our ADRs for 8pm, I figured it would be easier the first night with all the excitement I would be able to keep hima wake as he napped a wee bit in the afternoon. In the car on the way back to our resort he was knocked out! Thankfully, without the killer headache he normally will get from hearing the fireworks!

Happy Planning and have a great trip!

The gift shop is also in the back of the building. You would need to exit the building to see any fireworks. There really isn't any inside place you could actually see the firworks. Have you tried high performance ear muffs...

kind of bulky but they definately would cut down on the noise factor.

I really don't think there are any areas in which to eat and watch the IllumiNations fireworks that are going to not have the 'booming'...We were at BCV when they 'rehearsed' the July 4 special fireworks for IllumiNations last year....2:00 in the morning...woke me from a dead sleep!!! You are just not going to find a spot without the noise.
However, for MK, and Wishes, I would suggest eating at 'Ohana, and then going out to the overlook to the right of the beach. We watched Wishes from there one time and it was great. The loud booms were quite muted.
