I just got photoshop cs6 and I really want to make some pages for a cars passport for my son while we are in EPCOT next week. Can someone give me a crash course on how this is done?
I'd recommend going through the tutorials over on www.planetphotoshop.com Start with the older ones first, I'd say around page 15 or so. If you have any questions ask. I use CS4 so a command might be in a different spot and there are several features in CS6 that I don't have but 98% is the same.

my main question is how I would even begin to do this? I want to make the pages for him because he is celebrating his 2nd birthday and is crazy about cars. I think this would make the world showcase experience fun for him.
OK, here are the step I take to create a 4 x 6 autograph page.
Click New on the file menu and make the settings 6" wide, 4" high and a resolution of 125 dpi.
Next I make a background. For Lightning McQueen I might choose to do a gradient of red to yellow. Select those as the foreground and background colors by clicking on the color swatches at the bottom of the tool box.
Click on the gradient tool (you may have to right click on the Paint Bucket (fill) tool to find it) . Click on the top of your document and draw a line from top to bottom.
Create a new layer and paste your clip art on Lightning on this layer. You may need to resize it and/or reposition it.
Select the Type tool, select the font you want, set the size to at least 48pt., and click where you want your type to be and start typing.
See how you do with that much and I'll add more later.
I remember when I first got Photoshop, it was overwhelming and I didn't know how to do anything. The online tutorials are great, I still look for help from them when I want to try something new. I have an older version and would love to upgrade to the newest but even with a discount the cost is too much for my wallet.
Boy, it will have to be a crash course to get much done by next week ... Photoshop is a large and involved program! But hopefully in the near future you will have learned enough to help out other DISers!! good luck
