looking for opinions/recommendations on food in HH

Someone just recommended the Grumpy Grouper to me, but I haven't been there. Sea Shack is very fresh and very casual (think paper plates and plastic). Old Fort Pub and Red Fish are expensive, but very nice. There's a place out in Sea Pines, The Salty Dog, I think, that we've always enjoyed. Near the resort is Scott's Fish Market.

We enjoy Alexander's, Red Fish and the Old Oyster Factory - all 3 are owned by the same group and all offer an early dining special $14.95 for soup/salad and entree (we found the entree's to be very nice too!) You'll pass Alexanders on the way to the Beach House on the right just before the guard shack to the beach.

Also nearby is Scott's Fishmarket and the Kingfisher - a 5 minute walk from the resort. The Kingfisher also offers an early bird special with nice selections. Sticky Fingers is near Red Fish (about a 10 minute drive from the resort). Also within walking distance is Little Venice and San Miguels - reasonably priced and the Ocean Grille - overlooks the marsh with a nice menu but a little higher priced.

Just beyond the resort is the HH Diner - very reasonably priced - and Giuseppis is a great little pizza place located near the resort.

The resort will give you a book with about 300 HH restaurants listed including menus for many of them. There is definitely something for every taste and wallet!

I really like the Kingfisher right across the bridge at Shelter Cove. I especially like their Shrimp and Grits, which is the best I've had. Also, if you're in Savannah try Uncle Bubbas. Other favorites include Salt Dog, Wreck of Salty Dog Cafe (more upscale version of Cafe), Old Oyster Factory and San Miguels. We've been kind of disappointed in Hudsons the couple of times we've been there. Also, skip the Bamboo Cafe, wasn't really impressed with the food there either.
