Has anyone eaten at NBA City recently?

I was showing DS the restaurant list in CityWalk and he latched onto this restaurant. He really wants us to eat there once this summer.

We already know that the Hard Rock is out. We had a bad experience there last April. :sad1:

I'm also hoping to eat at Maguaritaville. Gee can't spell it but sure want to slurp my way through dinner. :drinking:

NBA City is always a must for our group, I have never had a bad meal there. I think it is one of the most underated restaurants at Universal. I think most people go expecting a sports bar type of place, with ok food . That is not the case. You would be hard pressed to get a better steak, than their dry aged sirlon. The last time was December, as usual, it was very good.:thumbsup2

We went last July. DW kept putting it off as she was not sure about eating at it. After a downpour of rain one evening it was the closest restaurant , so she decided to go , and we had a lovely meal in it,think it was the pork chop with potatoes and vegetables. she is even looking forward to eating there this year again

In December the drinks were cold:thumbsup2 and DS (persnickedy pizza snob); proclaimed the individual pizza delish!

ps we were hanging with our homies @ the bar, not main restaurant

we ducked our heads in to check it out, only issue was it was rather noisy & seemed brightly illuminated (could be due to our eyes adjusting to the darker bar:confused3 ) despite only being 1/2 full...assume it had something to do with the wooden floor;)

it's on our short list

We love NBA. We thought the same as a lot of folks, sports bar, must be sports bar food, loud, rowdy. We ended up going on a whim and positively loved it. It was none of those things we thought it would be.

We've eaten there probably a dozen times and have never had a bad experience.

I always get the same thing: Bleu Cheese Chicken Pasta. Absolutely out of this world. Their pastas are sort of their signature dishes, and I think there's even a writeup from the newspaper about this restaurant in a case outside the restaurant you can read. I knew to order the Bleu Cheese Chicken Pasta from the article.

DH always gets the baby back ribs. He was not a rib eater (and still generally isn't) until he tried them at NBA. Lean, meaty, falling off the bone delicious.

The only near negative I can say is the drinks. We find the alco-beverages to be a huge waste of money here -- unless you're talking about beer or wine maybe. We spent nearly $50 on two rounds of bloody marys (for two of us!) and I'd be surprised if there was more than a drop or two of vodka in them. Nah, we get a hurricane at O'Brians, then get dinner at NBA with a water, then head back for more hurricanes.

Hope you enjoy!

P.S. I think in the food porn thread here on the Uni section of the boards, there's some recent photos from NBA City. I know my buddy TigerKat took some and posted them on that thread, and she was there recently, so it would be towards the last pages of the thread.

we had a good time there. food was good. nothing stands out as fantastic or anything.

I think NBA City is one of the most underrated (or overlooked) restaurants at CityWalk.

My review is posted here.

Does anyone know if nba city does anything for birthdays? We will be going on my sons 7th birthday. thanks
