Looking for less than magical time at disney inform.

Anyone have a less than magical time at disney and it took away from the experience...

Maybe dolwhip that was to soft on a 95 degree day.

Maybe seeing a character smoking on his break.


Sitting or standing behind a tall person and can't see parade.

There are almost always posts through out the boards where someone is describing something on their trip that wasn't "magical". Things are bound to happen even at the happist place on earth it is just how we decide to deal with them.

As the wife of a 6'7" man I find it annoying when people complain about how tall he is. If you don't want to sit or stand behind him move. Its not like he is trying to block you. And no you can't stand in front of him but if you ask nicely, your kids can.

I prefer to think optimistically about the good times. And, there are many.

Once while on a Disney Cruise when the tender crew hooked up the ramp they didn't tighten it properly which caused it to slam down on DS's foot, crushing it. That was less than magical. Other than that, it's been all good. I'm sure there could have been times that there was someone tall, or my soda wasn't the perfect temp. or whatever but if something like that happened, I probably wouldn't remember it 2 minutes later since it's not a big deal, so I'd be hard pressed coming up with stuff like that months or years later.

I had a trip in January that was totally not magical. Two kids and an Aunt throwing up and the fear that same Aunt had a heart attack on ride plus 23 degree weather during marathon and no really warm clothes since it's supposed to be warmer in FL. No magic whatsoever during that trip.

We were there this past weekend. While on Snow White's ride it stopped then the lights came on. We sat there a good 5 minutes or so.

Same trip on Expedition Everest when you get to the farthest point going backward and the Yeti is in the shadow- the ride stopped for a good five minutes. A CM came over the speakers from somewhere and kept saying push the button to release. ??? Not sure who he was talking to because no one of the ride had a button.

It's kind of weird...on my honeymoon, I got food poisoning; and it was BAD! Throwing up and all that kept me out of the park for a day, but the rest of the time I had what felt like a bad flu.

BUT I still had a blast the days we were at Disney (we didn't stay on grounds that time). I carried a full bottle of DayQuil in my purse, and even though I felt like poo, it was still such a fun experience.

That's one of the reasons I think it's almost impossible to NOT be happy when in DW

If you spend enough time at WDW you will encounter something out of sorts. It's a magical place staffed with real people, so stuff happens. Try being stuck on It's a Small World for 45 minutes with the music still going the whole time. You just have to focus on what's good and go with it.

The last time I was at WDW I fell in front of the castle and gashed my finger open. I probably needed stitches, but made do with alot of band aids and neosporin. I still have a scar.

On the plus side, the nurses at the First Aid station were very nice.

I agree. I am 6' and my Dh is 6'4". SHould we just skip anything where we might be in front of someone shorter thn us?

The time this actually happened to us (OK, it was ten minutes, not 45!) we were laughing so hard at the irony of actually being stuck inside "It's A Small World" we couldn't even complain about it, lol.

I remember years ago when I think Piedmont Airlines maybe? Had the lamest ride of ALLLL time. (Can't remember if it was MK or Epcot) We were stuck inside that boring thing for a while. Out of all of the times we've been stuck on rides- that one was the worst!

oh my. now that's what i'm talking about. everyone should have received free tickets and a meal. fortyfive minutes of that song....

talk about hand banging music...think of hearing your kids music...backstreet kids or anyother group for that long...
