I mean, community leaders are the same as other players.

Some regular players are nicer than a few CL_'s I've met.

Hi. I have had a dream to have leaders on my list as friends. I've never had 1 on my list, and it is my dream to have some on my list. So if you are a Leader on VMK, please post or pm me saying that you can be my friend when vmk opens Thanks you all for looking.. Hope to find some leaders!!!

Having a Community Leader as your friend does nothing special. It's not a status symbol, it doesn't get you any privileges, you don't get anything special, nothing. Community Leaders are players just like you. We have to ride rides to get pins (or not as the case may be!), we have to play pirates to earn credits, we help people who need help, we answer questions, that's it. We have no magic powers, no special links to the powers that be. I've never even seen Yavn in game, nor QA_Caffdawg or other testers, no VMK_ other than Mocha, and no hosts other than Phinny, Lily, Sparky and Hula. Just like most other players out there!

Community Leaders are not to be worshipped or followed around or have groupies! We are there to help when needed, and a lot of the time, other players help just as well (and sometimes better!) as any of us can.

Please, don't think that having a leader as a friend is anything special. Have a friend as a friend, that's what's important!

Astro, DaraAllen was just explaining to you that they get nothing special, that it is nothing special to have a CL on your list. It is much better to have great friends on your list, than to have CL.

Please be a little nicer next time..

Astro, Dara is a leader, so she is only passing along info that it
shouldn't matter if leaders are on your friends list or not. It comes across
like you're making leaders out to be celebrities. They aren't, and they
shouldn't be.

Leaders get harrassed a lot, so they are extra cautious when they come
across players who are anxious to be their friends.

You have gotten you message out there and maybe you will find a CL to have on your list.

I ditto what Dara said and also want to add that to become a CL you must have played VMK for sometime so most CL's friends list are already full when the become CL's.

Are there DIS people that I want on my list? Of course! Do I have room for them? Nope! Do they have room on their list? Nope!

What I find is that you usually run into CL/DIS people randomly that aren't on your friendlist, yet you can still commence with hanging out with them (such is the case with a certain CL_Maltoo ).


But by all means, do not become offended if a CL turns down your "olive branch of friendship." We've been asking VMK for ages to increase the number of friends you can have on your list.

My sentiments exactly. I had 103 people on my list last night of people
waiting for me to add them. I think many of the requests came while
either in the Fantasyland Courtyard or riding the rides.

Some requests have been there for a long time, and I still hold onto them.
But I weed out the players I have never talked to and don't know who they
are.

I deleted an inactive friend and tried to add someone waiting and it would not take it.

I know even if they increase it we will eventually want more but right now I would be happy with another 25

What I actually end up doing is to go through and delete people on my list who haven't signed on after February.

I'm just lucky that I usually only get 3-4 Friend Requests a day... I can't imagine what being a CL must be like...

What you don't seem to get is that no one wants "friends" that just want their title. They want friends that actually like them and care about them.

Then ask for friends, not just Leaders... A Leader is just an every day player like you and me: being on their list doesn't make you part of their "posse," it does not automatically guarantee you friends.

What I suggest you do, is to get out their and befriend folks. (And don't be standoffish, as you were earlier in this thread)

And, knowing the DIS community, you'll make friends fast.

Astro, freinds are not determined by the badges they wear. They are determined by how much they mean to you. Yes I have several leaders on my list. About half of them were friends before they became leaders. Make friends that you want, not just because they are leaders.

Mal if that person who asked you to be a freind, has subsequntly filled thier friends list, when you then go to add them you cant.

I not only want a larger friends list, I want to be able to subdived it... Newbies, Pirate Pals, Best friends, etc

And I agree with what other's have said, CL's have been in the game a while and just about all of their friends list's were full before they became a CL.

Just be your wonderful happy self and I am sure one day you will have a CL on your list
