Looking for information on colon cancer

My mother-in-law was just diagnosed with colon cancer for the second time but it has manifested itself as tumors in her ovary's and they saw it's presence also on her aortic lymph nodes. She has recently had a complete hysterectomy (they thought it was ovarian cancer) and she starts chemo in September when she heals from the surgery. I was just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on this, she doesn't discus this (or anything) with her son and I would like to try to understand more about it. Thank you.

Will she allow her doctor to talk to her son? Only because it's probably a better way to learn about her disease than reading it on the internet. Often on the internet things look very grim, but in person, oncologists and surgeons can make it seem less so.

Thank you, I have done a lot of internet research and I have access to medical journals, the problem is she probably wouldn't even tell him the doctor and he doesn't want to know. Its a sad situation since she didn't even tell him about the cancer he found out at his cousins birthday two weeks later from his aunt. We found out she was home from the hospital 2 days after she got home only because we called. Shes a very evil women so I know she will make it through. She will live to 120 just to torture me haha.
