Looking for hotel recommendation in Georgia

Hi all, we are planning a trip for the first week of June , driving (for the first time ) from the Chicago area and I wondered if anyone from GA had any hotel recomendations around the Macon, GA area? TripAdvisor shows the LaQuinta Inn & Suites to be rated #1. Is it nice or is there somewhere better? We are looking for someplace clean and affordable, breakfast included would be great.

My choice would be to stay at a Hampton Inn. Every summer when my family & I drive down Interstate 75 to WDW, we always stay at them along the way & we would recommend them anytime.

I would also suggest Hampton Inn as my first choice. There is a nice Hampton along I-475 in Macon (I *think* it's the Zebulon Road exit) which I have personally stayed at and can recommend.

One other thing: make reservations ahead of time. The morning of arrival is early enough, but I have seen people going door to door in the early evening at motels/hotels in southern Georgia trying to find any room for the night - and finding nothing at any price or condition.

I usually stay at the Quality Inn at Exit 3 on 475. Or the Days Inn at Exit 3 on 475. Both of the them are good values and clean. Easy on and off of the interstate.
