Hi Friends,
I am leaving for Disney this coming Tuesday 6/24. Perhaps I can run my Itinerary by you all.
Arrive in Orlando at 4:00 (if plane is on time, Keeping fingers crossed!) Getting rental car while friend and kids gather luggage. Driving to Hotel, which is 4 miles from DisneyWorld area.
Check in real quick and then it is off to MGM (since they are open that night to 10, Fantasmic show at 10:30) Hopefully we will get there by 5:30.
Will be traveling with Friend, teenage girls 13 and 15 and my DS 11. I want to take them to Sci Fi Drive In for dinner while at MGM. Do you think I would be able to call and make a reservation for 8:30 that night? I was thinking that most people would be heading for the 9 o'clock Fantasmic show.
Wed- Its MK early as possible. Then over to Epcot to do FutureWorld stuff (4 hours ?? enough time )and then back to MK for Fireworks.
Thursday- Islands of Adventure (Mythos for lunch/Downtown Disney
Friday- Universal Studios/CityWalk/Perhaps Pleasure Island for adults????
Sat- Animal Kingdom/other Disney park???/Epcot for World showcasefor and whatever else we missed then Iluminations.
Sun- Typhoon Lagoon/Disney Boardwalk
Mon- Return Home.

I hope you will look this schedule over and help me out with it. I have read many things on this board and appreciate any ideas or tips.

Thanks,
Dianne

We always go to a park on the day of our arrival and it works well, especially when the park is open so late. Why don't you call now for the Sci-Fi insteading of waiting?

I think Futureworld and 4 hours would be enough, but not sure if fastpasses will have run out by the afternoon for Test Track.

I just returned last month from Universal with two teens and we spent by far the most time at IOA, not the Studios. The Studios can be done in half a day, although you may find yourself riding MIB over and over again. IOA is awesome for getting wet, you will love Spiderman (the best ride ever made) and the Pluto's barges (raft ride).

I would suggest that you do make time for World Showcase, even with my little ones we spend lots of time there enjoying the entertainment and browsing in the unique shops, plus going on the two rides in Norway and Mexico.

While at Universal there was a teen night at Citywalk from 8 - 12 and I let the girls go to it. They enjoyed it, not sure if there is one for the time you will be there. I didn't go out as I was the only adult, so I just hung at the Hard Rock Hotel where we were staying.

Hopefully this has been helpful and have a wonderful time.

Thank you so much for the input. I will call Sci Fi tomorrow and see what I can get for a reservation. I am sure the girls would love the Teen Walk, but I will have to think of something to do with my son. I am sure he will feel jealous. LOL
We are planning on going back to Epcot on Saturday to do World Showcase. I am sure the kids would love it. We want to eat in Morocco. ( I was just in DisneyWorld chaperoning a Senior class trip in May) We did all the parks and loved them. I was feeling guilty because my son has never been to Disney. So thats why I decided to plan this trip!

Any other suggestions would be great!
Dianne

Looks like you'll be busy. My suggestion would be to move your water park day more towards the middle of your stay because it will be more of a "break day" instead of a "go, go, go" day.

I would also suggest getting a few mid-day breaks in there to just relax an hour or 2 at your resort. This time of year is extremely hot. If you can't do that, then I'd find some remote places to have a nice quiet lunch (in MK there is Tom Sawyer's Island, in AK there is the Flame Tree BBQ where you can go sit in the shade by the water - so relaxing. I'm sure others know a few places in the other parks)

I agree with the above poster about FP being gone for Test Track by afternoon. It seems that during busy times they are normally out by noon. You may be able to go through quick in the single rider lane though. :)

Have a great time & remember to take a little time to relax. You'll enjoy your vacation much more if you do. ;)

If your girls were to do the teen dance, you and DS could go to Margarittaville for dinner or even stay in the parks. I'm thinking that the parks must be open late in the evening by now. The two of you could go on rides and spend special time that way. And another suggestion: we went to the Hard Rock Cafe one night for dinner and were seated upstairs overlooking the spinning cadillac and bar. It was a blast, the waitresses were up on the tables dancing to YMCA and other songs. Lunch was boring, though, no entertainment, so if you wanted to go, I'd definitely pick dinner.
