Hi all. I am looking for some help from all you bargain hunters. DH and I are going to Florida from March 4-17. I finally convinced him to go for 2 weeks. We want an affordable hotel (I don't want to pay more than 100 per night but would like it less than 75 a night) that is not a roach shack. Any suggestions?

Have you looked at www.hotelkingdom.com yet?

They have cypress point resort studio for $70.80 per night plust tax. Also, Cypress Point Grand Villas 1 bedroom for $76.70 plus tax.

The two bedrooms at both are $99.12 a night.

They have received really good reviews that i have seen!

HTH!

umaangel00 would be interested to know what you have read that makes you think Cypress Pointe a `dump` I have only read very good things about it and we are considering booking it for next summer.

CP Resort is definitely not a dump . Nice 3* timeshare resort in a good locaiton near downtown disney.

herc.

I checked tripadvisor and all i could find were reviews under cypress point grandvillas and most of them were really good. It is ranked 31 out of 282 properties with a 4 out of 5 rating.

I would also suggest Windsor Hills or Windsor Palms condos. They are really nice and really close to Disney.

My sister just rented one this week for 8 days in February for $600 for a two bedroom. That is with all taxes. Plus, once you are able to spread out with a full kitchen and a couple rooms for people to hang out it, you may not want to go back to a hotel room again.

Happy hunting!

Thanks for the advice about Cypress Pointe thats the type of info I had read, none of it referred to it as a dump

here is the reviews from trip advisor on Cypress pointe

roaches are a part of Florida - they are hard to avoid - roaches, not to mention ants are a problem at WDW as well as the surrounding area.

even the nicest hotel has a problem with roaches - because these things walk in open doors. So just one person who leaves the door open while taking in their luggage or grocery - can get a roach.

Ala has the same problem.

with the new construction at CP that adds to this problem.

So what is Cypress anyways? Do I have to listen to a timeshare presentation to go there? If I do then I think I will go w/ Windsor. I stayed there the last time and loved it.

We've stayed at the Comfort Suites Maingate East in Kissimmee (next to Old Town) on 192 a few times. While it's not a 4 star hotel, it is clean, cheap and they do provide a free continental breakfast. It's only a 5 minute drive from Disney. There is a small fridge and microwave in the room and there are tons of restaurants close by. We've always been treated well and last visit we even received a basket of goodies with a "welcome back" note from the management. For your time of year their rate is $119 however if you call them and ask for the "magicard rate" it will be $79. You can get a free Orlando Magicard from the Orlando Travel & Visitor's Bureau.

Any questions, just PM me.

If you book though HotelKingdom, you don't have to do the presentation. I ahve heard lots of good things about Cypress Pointe Grand Villas.

Another possiblity is to see if you can win an auction through SkyAuction.com. March is a hard time w/ it being spring break, but you never know.

No, with Hotelkingdom.com you just have to pay in advance for the entire thing. If you are sure of your dates, then it's a small inconvenience. We loved Cypress Pointe. I am going to book it again. Very close and very clean. Just a little older than some other properties, but who cares? Not I. I have spent much more for much less in Orlando.
