My DW and I are heading back to WDW September 4-9th. Since we have never been in September, we were wanting to see how crowded it was going to be. Everyone (including the guides) say that it should be very un-crowded, but we would like to see for ourselves. You kow, "a picture is worth a thousand words".

So if you have a picture that accuratley shows the crowds in early September, place it here.

Thanks :cool1:

I don't have any pictures to show you, sorry! But I can say we have been this same week the past two years and I promise you will not have any problems with crowds. It is almost scary how dead the parks are on Tuesday and Wednesday. You will see more crowds on the weekends. Also Spectro will be busy on Thursday because it is the only showing of the parade during the week so everyone goes to it. Have fun!!! You are going to be spoiled.

Oh yeah, my husband just reminded me of this- to tell you how un crowded it is : On Tuesday of that week, we went to watch the parade at 3:00 in the afternoon at MK. There was no one beside us. We walked to Main Street to watch and literally there were spaces everywhere. Also that Wednesday at lunch time Soarin at Epcot was a walk on. It posted a 20 minute wait. We went to stand in line and we never had to stop and wait. We walked right on.

This picture was taken on Thursday, the second week of September in the moning but not anywhere near rope drop, I can assure you. We experienced WALK ONS at IASW, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, etc. We were in line less than 15 minutes for PoTC. Satuday & SUnday that week were a bit busier but NOTHING like the crowds I've experienced in April. I'm sure it will all be fine & you'll have a fabulous trip.

Here are a few pictures from last year at that time. All were taken at differant times but all are in the morning.

Thanks Guys!

There's nothing like a picture.......

We have used the different guides and sometimes it's hard to equate a 6 or a 7 on a scale of 10 to how many people will be in front of you at the parks.

We recently went in October and there were many more people than what we had expected.

Found a couple more that might be useful:

Well, I was going to post my entire blog entry for labor day weekend last year, but I can't because I am a newbie.

If you are interested, I will be happy to PM you the link for our entire vacation account.

The crowds were insane, but I went on LDW. What do you expect?

More than than the crowds, you need to be prepared for the heat and the humidity. We are locals, and we nearly died.

Wow! I hope the crowds look the same when we go Sept 6-13. That would be pure pixiedust: Let's just cross our fingers for no hurricanes ;)

I wish I could figure out how to post pics, mine from 9/14-9/22 look nothing like those!:headache:

You also might want to check out WDW videos on YouTube. A lot of those mention the days they were there.

Here's an entry from the Sept. 2007 trip report I wrote, which contains photos, video, and comments on the crowds that day:

Day 3
Tues. 9/11
First REAL Solo Day!

The phone rang about 6am - the UNwake up call - and we were out of the room by 7:15. After leaving the lobby, Fee walked towards the parking lot, and I to the shuttle stop. I was sad to see her go. :sad1:

When I got on the bus, I did feel a bit strange because no one talked to me. Oh well, it was still better than being home! When I stepped off the bus at MK, I did start to second guess myself. But, as I was walking quickly to the gates, I thought "Wait, slow down Glenda, you can walk as slow as you want to!" After that, I was trully ok!

Today, I was on my way to meet DISer PaulaSB at Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom for breakfast at 8am. I was really excited about this meal, because I'd never been in the park before it openned.

When I got to the gates, I was surprised to see that there were alot of people there for breakfast too.

Insted of heading straight for CP, I took a few pics . . .

When I got to Crystal Palace (CP), I didnt see Paula, but I checked in, because there were ALOT of people out there. After about 15mins, they called me. I told them to be on the look out for her.

After getting my first plate of food, Paula showed up! Now let me pause here and answer the question everyone asks - did you feel weird being at a character breakfast alone? No. I was hungry, and just glad to be there. My waiter even took a pic with my camera of me and one of the characters. So if you have to go solo, and would like to eat here, do it.

Paula and I had a good time chatting. So strange that neither of us thought to take a picture! The food was just ok. At least they still had the puffed french toast. It was in the kids section. Next time, CP wont be a must do.

After breakfast, we parted ways. I rode the People Mover (yes I know that's the old name) in Tomorrow Land.

The place was EMPTY! I took some video while on the ride, of the empty park.

This was the first time I was the ONLY person on it! It was pretty cool until it went inside in the dark, especially the the part with Space Mountain. It felt a little spooky!

While walking through Tomorrow Land, I saw this man hole with Mickey in the middle.

Afterwards, I rode Peter Pan, Pooh (which I think is so cute when it bounces), and I watched Mickey's Philharmagic - where I ran into Paula again! And yet again, we didnt take any pics!

Look at the waits I had to endure!

After Fantasy Land, I rode Thunder Mountain and Pirates!

Now it was time for a treat! Dole Whip Float!
IMG_1482.jpg

(Yes, I took this myself!)

IMG_1483.jpg

Since this area wasnt crowded, and I was solo, I decided I wanted to stay awhile. So I got comfy, and even asked someone to take my pic!

And while this nice Lady was taking my pic, I noticed someone over her shoulder . . .

I think you can see their reflection in the window . . .

Hmmmm . . . .

Thanks so much for the info! :thumbsup2 We can't wait! Was it very hot?

Anyone have any info on the crowds for SEP 14-20? I wonder if it gets more crowded the closer you get to October or not?!?!?!:flower3: Thanks in advance!

And great pics BTW!

We were there last year, 9/11-9/16.

The crowds did pick up from what was stated earlier on this thread. I think due to the fact that it was the Jewish Holiday & schools up here were closed 2 days that week, so people tried to take advantage of Free Dining & not missing school, as well as the first MNSSHP started on 9/14

So I do not think this year it will be as be as busy during this week as the first MNSSHP starts earlier this year (I think 9/5) & schools will not be closed for the Jewish Holiday since it falls in the last week of Sept.

I know we are not going this year because school is not closed during Free Dining with the exception of Labor Day, so we are trying November for the first time!!!! SUPER EXCITED!!!!

Lastly, although I state that the crowds did pick up when I was there, in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM, would I consider it crazy!!! I have been in JULY, & that my friends is CRAZY!!!!!!!

So IMO, Sept. is a FABULOUS month to go, Free Dining, & low to moderate crowds!!!

You will have a blast!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info!!! It is greatly appreciated.
