Looking for crowd pictures from September

I wish I could figure out how to post pics, mine from 9/14-9/22 look nothing like those!:headache:
Yeah, me too! We were there the exact same dates as you and the crowds were not low. I'm going to go find my disk and try to load my photos.

I found these pic's. They were taken on 9/14, the night of the first MNSSHP around 5pm. As I said before, busy but not super busy!!!!

WOW GREAT POSTS!! Are the lovebugs done by the last week of September??????? :scared1:

WOW GREAT POSTS!! Are the lovebugs done by the last week of September??????? :scared1:

Well that depends....

Last year we were there 9/11-9/16 & hardly any love bugs!!! :cool1:

The year before that we were there 9/22-9/28 & THEY WERE EVERYWHERE!!!!!

I hope you luck out this year as they are really ANNOYING!!! :headache:

we went the week leading up to Labor Day weekend last year (8/25-9/1) and the crowds were definitely low to moderate, but increased as it got closer to the weekend. This year we are going through the weekend, and staying the week after, 8/30-9/6, and am expecting it to be busy during the holiday weekend, and then clear out. Of course as we found last year since it was Free Dining (and will be again this year)-the park crowds are very managable but its the restaurant crowds you have to worry about!

I think some people are going to be seriously disappointed.

I've done Sept for years. 2006, the last week of Sept was a ZOO!!! It was HORRIBLE! It made the trip miserable. Epcot was unmanageable. We went last year, earlier in the month and it was better. It varies, and all the planning and photos in the world can't change what will happen when your there. There are a LOT bigger pictures to consider.
Some general things to consider for crowds (for ANY time):
  • Orlando events
  • business meetings
  • group events
  • Mardigras
  • foreign countries schedules and holidays
  • Jersey Week
  • TAX INCENTIVES CHECKS in May 2008!!!
  • holidays
  • beach events
  • florida events
  • etc
  • food, wine events/festivals
  • etc

Noone has mentioned the tax checks. It WILL play a role in maxed out parks.

Hope for the best, expect the worse.

We were there last September. We arrived Labor day and spent the rest of the week there. The crowd levels were real low. 10 minute or less wait on rides. But because it was during Free Dining, the restaurants were busier.

That is the same exact time we were there. We arrived on the Sunday before Labor Day. We just swam at the pool on Sunday and Monday. Monday night we went to the Pirate and Princess Party. It was so dead. That Tuesday and Wednesday were GREAT!!! Crowds did pick up in time for the weekend. We went the same time the year before. I did notice a little increase in people between the two years.

The big thing is WHICH WEEK in Sept. it was DEAD on our trip last Sept 2007, but the last week of Sept is usually very crowded due to the F&WF.
I LOOOOOVE Epcot, and on any 8 day trip, you can find us there 4 of the 7 days, but during F&WF, I'm avoiding Epcot with a passion. I don't care for drinking, and don't care for the crowd it attracts. (double meaning intended).
It brings out the worse in Disney. JMHO.

We're booked for Sept 2008. Hoping for light crowds, but we'll just have to wait and see. Free DDP has become more popular than Christmas (as a discussion topic). You can find refrences to it here on the DIS 365 days a year. That says something.

2006 - week before Labor Day - very hot - low crowds - only the 2nd year w/free dining - don't think it had caught on yet!

2007 - 9/21 - 9/28 - hot but not unbearable - more crowded this year - wait times 15-20 min - restaurants full

2008 - 9/5 - 9/12 - got my ADRs set - don't care about anything else - not going to worry about heat, humidity, lovebugs or crowds.

Princesstiffany and I went a week apart & the difference appears to have been dramatic. She got horrible heat & crowds & I got reasonable. Go figure!!

Maybe you'll run into me! I'll be there 9/6-9/13 @ AKL![/QUOTE]

Hey, that's the same week that I'm going!!! I can't wait!!!

I've been down in September before, and it was the best time I've ever had!! There were no crowds at all!!! That's why I decided to go that week again this year!!! :thumbsup2 :dance3:

These are the same dates we are going! I hope too that it will thin out after Labor Day:scared: Anyone have pictures of the week after Labor day 9/2-9/6 I love pic!:) Yes I know pic are not going to change how it will be. But I like to look at Disney World. It is beautiful!!!

When is the exact date of the tax incentives checks come out? are you suggesting May will be busier because of it or that people will be booking vacations during free dining with their incentive checks?

I hope that I haven't made a mistake deciding to go in Sept. We are taking our girls out of school to go. I talked my husband into going then because I thought we'd miss the crowds. From reading on here I knew that the restaurants would be crowded but I thought the parks would be fairly empty.

Hi all,

Will be in Orlando from Sept. 2 but am pretty flexible regarding which week to visit WDW parks. Have checked, and there are no Jewish holidays till the very last two days of the month. Europeans and Nth. Americans are back to work after summer vacations and those of us from the Southern Hemisphere are still a couple of months away from our own summer breaks! Colorado State University researchers ARE currently predicting a more active hurricane reason this year but if I'd factor this into our decision making process I'd also be forced into looking at crime and motor vehicle accident rates in Florida, not to mention incidents of people slipping in their bathrooms!! :scared1: :sad2:

Besides, I can only take a holiday in Sept. so that's what there is! :)

However, I see that Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is scheduled for:

September 5, 2008, 7:00PM - 12:00AM
September 9, 2008, 7:00PM - 12:00AM
September 12, 2008, 7:00PM - 12:00AM
September 16, 2008, 7:00PM - 12:00AM
September 19, 2008, 7:00PM - 12:00AM
September 23, 2008, 7:00PM - 12:00AM
September 26, 2008, 7:00PM - 12:00AM
September 28, 2008, 7:00PM - 12:00AM
September 30, 2008, 7:00PM - 12:00AM

and that the 'Night of Joy' Contemporary Christian Music festival is scheduled for September 5, 2008 and September 6, 2008, 7:30PM - 12:30AM at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Would it be a fair assumption to say that, in light of the events above, instead of a drop-off in crowds after the Labor Day weekend, we could expect higher than average WDW crowds during this first week of Sept.?

If so, it would be better to visit some of the other Orlando parks during week 1 and use our Seven Day Park Hopper for week 2 of Sept.

Any input appreciated,

CP

Thanks for all the great photos!! We are taking a quick 4 night trip down just my DH and I Sept. 6-10. We will be staying at BWV and I am so excited to be in Disney with my Disney fanatic partner. We started our Disney obsession 13 years ago on our Disneymoon. This will be our 1st trip since then with out our children. We are hiding the fact we are going to Disney, they just think we are going to Florida:rotfl2: . Like there is any place else to go in Florida. We don't have free dining because we are DVC, but without kids, I won't mind the crowds in the TS.
