Lorrie - I'd say no to practice. When Ally had cheerleading, her coach cancelled when it was cold. It's just not fair to kids that young. Especially in our areas where we're not prepared for the cold, kwim?

Did you guys see my post about WDW planning? Any ideas for you professionals? If I can't do it cheap I can't do it. Also, just remember all the options aren't necessarily there anymore....especially in June.

Debbie - I have to go back and read what your dilemna is. I'll try to give my two cents then.

Weather update here: we got about 8 inches overnight; then there was a lull for most of the morning; it's now started up again and we could get another 8!!! It's really coming down hard now. I've shovelled the ramp and have Lauren and her friend out now taking care of the rest - very grumpily, I might add.

Which leads me to my next vent.............Lauren came home a very pissy young girl last night. I know things are hard for her but she doesn't let her father see ANY of her feelings about it. So when she comes home to me, everything comes flooding out! I'm glad she feels comfortable venting to me and we usually talk it out; but she's usually still pissy about life when all is said and done. For instance, she's soooo annoyed at me for making her go out and shovel. I got such an attitude. It's like she's mad at her dad and is taking it out on me! Such good times!

First of all, anyone hear if Jilian got off okay? She was supposed to leave at 2 but thinks they were gonna be delayed until tonight or tomorrow because of the snow.

Lorrie - that is a lot of snow for you guys, isn't it? I know my inlaws were supposed to get 2-4 inches today. Another reason I'm glad Jeff didn't drive up there this weekend. He wouldn't have left early to avoid it, and once it starts snowing in SC, EVERYTHING shuts down.....

I saw news from SC with everyone stranded on the freeway - they were really worried about those people!

Flight is only delayed 20 mins. I am expecting it to go out. They seem to have the roads clear.

Kara- You're right we stay at the Holiday inn tonight and off to CBR tomorrow. I am glad we did that so we didn't miss out.

Mike is out with the snowblower now after working a 24 I really don't think he will want to come back.

So he get's home today and says hmmm... Maybe you and the kids should have gone out last night and I could have gone later today. I suggested that yesterday,but he said no he wants to go out together.

Laura - still confused about exactly what the waterpark weekend was all about - was that this weekend?

Kara - yes - lot of snow for us. Some areas in TN got 8 inches - here it was more like 2. We still have snow on the ground.

AND SOCCER PRACTICE. I just came in and the car was reading 31 at 1 pm, so I doubt it will even be above freezing at 5!

SO I'm with Debbie! SCREW IT!

Well, I have had some good luck! First off we got our tax money back so that is helping with the money situation and more importantly I have been watching airfare and it has gone down. A big part of the reason I didn't think we could go anywhere was because airfare was so high out of O'Hare. Well, we found fares so low for October that we just took them!!! We didn't want to have any regrets. 150.00 Each!!!!! The Good news is that the flights are to Florida but the bad news is it's to Ft Myers instead of Orlando. We can't really afford to do our regular WDW trip this year. So here's where I need your help! We can either go for 2-3 nights in WDW in the middle of our Naples trip in October or we can TRY and go to WDW the second week in June. Now this may sound pricey but the airfare was down to Orlando at that time and I would go with my Mom in June and share the room expenses with her. I tried a whole bunch of buy 4 get 3 free options for June and they were all gone except for Key West and Saratoga....any thoughts?

Debbie - I missed this whole thing. First, my SIL's parents live in Ft Myers. Small world. #2 Okay, so let's not make the beach trip part WDW, cause if you do you will so not enjoy your beach trip for being all hyped about WDW - KWIM? SO ... since you get along good with your mom and could basically cut your price in half and then basically in half again (buy 4/get 3), my vote is to do a trip with her.

Is she up to it? Sure you don't want to take the kids out of school and come in May?

Tammie - I'm laughing at the people stranded in SC on the highway. It's because the trucks couldn't get up the hills so they were blocking the highway. SC has been warned by the federal govt that they canNOT allow this to happen on an interstate. This is the first snow they got this year so they should have had plenty of salt. It makes me so mad - they usually get one or two good ice storms each year, so it's not like they "never" get it and can't be prepared. I can remember it taking me 30 minutes to go about 3 miles because of trucks stranded on a two lane highway, and we would have to gradually get close, then try to go around it - it took forever because the cars coming the other way couldn't stop for the ice. It was awful!

Debbie - i for one vote for going to Disney during the beach trip - that's one airfare, and you won't be tempted to spend more than a couple nights at Disney - you'd still get your Disney fix, but much cheaper....

Cammie - poor Lauren - and poor you for having to deal with the teenage years......

Laura - I agree with Lorrie, I'm laughing that you got that converted so fast! What would we do without you?

Erin - you must be so excited now!!!! Good for you!

Lorrie - btw, is it back to Renee, or are we good with Lorrie now? I would tell the coach why!!!!! I'm sure you're not the only parent who feels this way, and maybe if you cancel, others will too and he'll get the idea for next time....

Got the upstairs bathroom painted. It looks great! It's neutral, but a deeper shade so it really warmed up the room. Cammie, it's waiting for you in May!

Now I'm stiff and sore already! It's a small bathroom and trying to get up the ladder while it was 1/2 in the tub was not fun.

Jillian said she only had a 30 minute delay so hopefully she's on her way now!

I'm over on the food porn thread. That is so a dangerous place to be.

So for my "last supper" I'm thinking Chinese. Specifically - egg drop soup, spring rolls, and extra spicy orange chicken with fried rice.

I have two months - I'm SERIOUS. It starts tomorrow and I can do this - that is only a lb a week. I can do this. I can do this.

Cammie. YOUR SNOW And for Lauren, that is just the teenage thing to do. I know it is a pain, but you know everything puts you out at that age. I'm glad she has you to talk to.

Yay Jillian only had a little delay. I'd be out there offering to help de-ice the plane!

Kara - I so want to repaint my bathroom. It is two stories though, so I honestly need a painter to do it right. It is a deep green now and I've always wanted it BLUE. I hate that green. It just puts such a nasty cast on everything. To top it off, the previous owners did it themselves and didn't tape, so there is a jagged line where it meets the vault that drives me bonkers. I keep saying I'll have it done soon. I need to do that. Maybe this spring.

Debbie - tough love here. You need to part with some of that crap you are always talking about junking up your house. Do you do yard sales or consignment there? That could totally help you make some Disney vacation cash. I'm planning to do one for our spending money. Every little bit helps.

OH, and Lorrie, you are not going on a diet, you are changing your eating habits. Seriously. When Jeff and I looked at it that way, it made all the difference for us. Diet is such an ugly word! You don't need diet food, you need healthy food! Just remember, fruits and unlimited veggies! Just limit your meats and starches, plus get 8 glasses of water a day! You can do it! I'm amazed that I"m still dropped about 1 lb a week right now, and I don't feel like I am on a diet at all. I eat slowly at meals so I fill up and eat less, and make sure I eat breakfast each day (that was hard for me to get used to!). On Friday night I ate 3 pieces of pizza - just couldn't resist! But then on Saturday I really watched what I ate, and kept to my 1200 calories. It's a balance.....

Kara, thanks for the vote there. My issue isn't that I'm a big eater. I don't eat tons at all. First problem - regular soda. I actually like my tea unsweet with lemon, so starting tomorrow, I'm switching to that. Second, I just make crappy food choices. It is out of ease, not so much out of really liking it. I mean, I like fries and some mexican food now and again, but 9 times out of 10, I prefer the healtier option, so this is just nothing short of stupid on my part. I've got to get a grip.

I've printed the schedules for the entertainment to see if I can figure out how Nicolas being at DHS on his birthday is going to work. I think we won't be there until a bit after opening. Our breakfast with Stitch is at 7:55 that morning. The only "ride" he wants to do is TSM, so I'm thinking we'll be okay there. Just need to figure out a method to the madness and if DTD is going to work in that day or not.

I wonder how close this March schedule will be to the one they will be doing in May.

YES! Podsnel's DH had this and she had it in her TR! It looks sooooo good! But everything I've seen from WPE looks good. I'm thinking that's where we'll start out on Friday..... either that or on our way out of town on Sunday.

Oh we are so very excited .. it's such a good price for a direct we have paid that for an indirect before and my cousin and her family paid 3 times that last april when we went just to get direct .. crazy fools hahah
And yes laura at the current sucky economic climate when my pound is rubbish against your dollar that is the right amount
Wishing the pound/dollar thing would go up a bit as am flying in about 3 weeks now and only have a certain amount of money to take grgrgr but at the moment it's at £1 = $1.43 which is the lowest i think i have ever known it, mind you am just glad i'm not going to Europe as £1 = 1.13 euros yikes it's awful
