D**m, I knew enough to know that deal was a steal! AT first I thought I was nuts, but sure enough, I hit the back button - it was there, but when I refreshed it was gone.

IT WAS A 1BR at the BWV! I don't know what that was about because that was around studio price. :confused3

Someone else sure must be happy right now.

Anyway. Cammie - yeah - that is what I'm really wondering about - the unwinding. I'm really going to make sure Carlos thinks about that - cause it can impact his mood.

Debbie - good point about the snacks - that is our breakfast. Problem is the kids need snacks daily too. Nicolas can polish off a kids meal - which means Mia will have to be OOP or eat off our plates.

ERRRR.....

OH, just weighed in and down 2 lbs this week - but there has got to be a mistake! I ate so many choco covered pretzels, plus McD's twice this week! I'll take it, but I'm thinking it's gonna reflect next week....

Jeff found a gal in his office who gets shrimp right off the docks for $4/lb and they are HUGE! He got 5 lbs this week, and they are soooo good and sweet. Last night I made a shrimp salad - kinda like egg salad but with shrimp mixed in, too. It was so yummy! It called for canned shrimp but we just cooked up and chopped some of this shrimp. OMG, I just can't get over how different fresh shrimp tastes!

i so thought of forrest gump :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I've decided that I am NOT going to check prices on any resorts anymore. DONE! The only thing I'm allowing myself to do is consider a car or not.

Laura - didn't you say that you had a nightmare coming back from MK one night, & you used the bus after that?

yup they were doing road construction on the main road out of MK. Had no idea that it was going on.

Lorrie - we alwayss do one room and Ally basically passes out so we sit outside the room with the door propped open, or we go to sleep at the same time. We go commando anyway so we don't get back until 10 or later. But your room will have a fridge anyway, so you can get plastic bowls and spoons for cereal, pop tarts, granola bars, etc, plus milk, juice and still have breakfast in your room. I always do coffee and take pop tarts or breakfast bars for the bus ride to the park that day.

I choked on my chocolate! SERIOUSLY! I was like.... ewww Kara
1 - TMI
2 - with Ally in the room

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Good to know! And I hadn't thought about that, but I could always just load down our suitcase too and just get milk/juice there to keep in our fridge. :thumbsup2

Okay, so another question from the now annoying DISer...

Anyone used GF Bakery to get their cakes? They look so yummy on the cake thread. The night before Nicolas' birthday, we have a dinner at 1900. I could pick it up then - the other option is to order one at Chef Mickey's for our 7:55 dinner and hope the kids don't fling it because they are eating too late! :rolleyes1

Renee....you will have MORE than enough food on the DDP and here's the thing to remember. If I am right you can still order an adult meal for the kids at times. If I am right it still does not show up as kids verses adults...even that aside though the kids meals are big and yours are huge. So much food you will not need to use snack credits on snacks all the time. I can't remember have you not ever done DDP?

Renee "Lorrie" Call me anytime you have a question and no one is on the board. We go with one room and Luca PASSES out when we get back to the hotel no need for another room. We do stay out until around 9 or so. It is vacation so we walk DTD with a drink and he relaxes and takes in the people music he loves it. I have just learned one lesson when I make a decision I am going to stick to it. There is always another Disney trip and I can always stay in a different hotel the next time. I do find having a car madatory for us. For me I need to know I can run to CVS or the grocery store if I need to and let me tell you I have gotten a sinus infection twice and needed to hit the pharmacy for some meds. Also Luca was sick our last trip and I had to go to CVS then.

Tomorrow at this time Lauren and I will be getting off the plane in Florida! :cool1: :thumbsup2

(hey- they changed the smileys again!)

:yay: :dance3: YAY CAMMIE! :dance3: :yay:

Everyone, thanks for the advice on the room. Oh, I know I'll be fine - Carlos :confused3 I brought it up to him last night - he said he wouldn't spring $550 - $1000 for another room, so at least I offered. His decision, not mine.

Jillian - thanks so much for the comment - that was perfectly what I needed to hear. I need to keep in mind that this isn't the last time - everything doesn' thave to be 100% perfect, and we can try something else next time if we need to. SO NEEDED THAT!

Debbie - yes, we are doing DDP. we tried it last time and it worked out well - but we were only there for 2 days. Nicolas is just a big eater - and Mia just picks so I'll just make sure SOMEONE can share. I keep forgetting that Carlos and I have VERY similar tastes, so he and I can share things too.

Okay, med people.

Nicolas is acting fine. Voice is shot. Throat is swollen - complained of sore throat 2 nights ago. Appetite is way down, saw a small white patch on the back of his throat - no fever. Can't feel any swollen glands in his neck - no rash that I can see on his torso.

Knocking on wood - none of us have ever had Strep - and I'm wondering if this is what it is?

Should I take him to a walk in clinic today or wait until Monday (or Sun - his clinich has hours after noon for very sick kids if the phone nurse feels you need an appt). Here is the odd thing - Mia has picked it up - lots of nasal congestion. She slept only 15 min of each hour last night - so whatever it is - you can catch it.

That is VERY exciting!!!!!! I can't wait for my text surprises!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With the DDP you guys will be set!!!! Seriously, when you can try and get 3 or 4 adult meals even do it. You can tell by your receipt. If the waiter is looking right at your kids you probably can't get them an adult meal but if you are at CS they don't know. I swear it still is just listed as a total of 4 for your family. No differentiating for kids. We would save deserts for snacks later. We would have the kids share meals and save their credits for other meals. If one of the kids doesn't eat much there is NO reason to get 2 meals for both of them. If you ask on the boards here they will tell you that there is NO way you can do this but they just think it's illegal because as of our trip you absolutely could.

Elizabeth has strep and I had no idea she even had a sore throat. I brought her in for an ear ache. The doctor looked at her throat and said it looked as bad as her ear! By the next day she had a rash everywhere (which is Scarlet Fever...which is strep untreated) so....in my opinion I would get a strep test!

get the steep test done. Do you have a CVS that has a minute clinic in it? Or target that has a clinic? They both don't need appointments. I love those things they are so much cheaper than going to urgent care. I just hope that you have them.

I know missed cammie but good luck! Have fun.

Happy Valentines day!!!!

I agree - get the test done. Hope he's feeling better soon! I also agree with Debbie - wherever you stay - it will be a great trip!

We don't "go commando" :goodvibes but we always had one room for all 4 of us when the boys were young - even sometimes now that they're grown. It is just budget friendly, and it works. At WDW, it seems we are all so tired at the end of the day, it doesn't matter - although I do remember when they were 12 and 13, we would let them go to the arcade while we took an afternoon "nap." ;)

First of all, Lorrie and Tammie get your minds out of the gutter! :rotfl2:

Cammie - so sorry I missed you!!! I'm so excited for you and hate that I can't meet up with you this trip! :sad1:

We had the best day yesterday! We went to the Museum of Science and History downtown Jax yesterday. It's right on the river so we got our hands stamped, and left at lunchtime, walked the river a little, then ate at a microbrewery right on the river. Then went back to MOSH and caught the planetarium show - Ally loved this! And I learned so much about J'ville's history so I appreciate the city so much more.

I've always loved Charleston, SC, and Savannah, GA, for their wonderful history, civil war stories, beautiful architecture and charming B&Bs and homes. We love to spend weekends in both these cities. But we were so disappointed that J'ville has no architecture, and it's a great location for it. Downtown is on the ST Johns river which is one of only 2 rivers in North America to flow north, then of course we have the beach, too.

But at MOSH I learned a lot about the history - how FL was the only state to remain loyal to England during the revolutionary war, and how a lot of loyalists from other states moved here during the war, assuming that FL would be the favorite place after England won the war. Didn't happen that way, so FL was given back to the Spanish. It changed hands so much between the Spanish, French and English, until it finally joined the US. And the reason there are no beautiful buildings, is because the whole city virtually burned to the ground in 1901. 10 big hotels burned with it, plus all the homes, etc. If not for that fire, this city would be one of prettiest, along the lines of Charleston/Savannah, with it's location on the river, and the beach nearby. So sad.

More movies were filed in Jacksonville between 1913 and 1917 than in Los Angeles. And the very first technicolor film was made here.

There is your history lesson for the day.

Well, I'm starting to like my hair a bit more. Yesterday I put the diffuser on my dryer and scrunched my hair to get the messy look - it looked better and it was easy to do. Today I'm gonna try another color - maybe a little warmer than the ashy, dishwater color I used before.

AFter our trip into J'ville yesterday, Jeff suggested we fondue for dinner last night - Ally loves this and we only do it maybe once a year. So we made cheese fondue, then a boullion for shrimp and steak, then of course chocolate for dessert with pound cake, strawberries and bananas. So good! Jeff and I both worked at the Melting Pot many moons ago and we still remember how to make the fondues!

Oh, and for V'Day Jeff got me a stereo/cd/mp3 player for the golf cart!!! :woohoo: I'm so excited for this! We love to zoom through the neighborhood in the evenings, so this will be more fun! I got Ally another webkinz and then Jeff gets her a DS game. And he says I spoil her! :sad2: He got a grill cover for the new grill outside. I should have given it to him on Friday cause it's been raining all weekend.

OK, I'm off now - need to pick up the house a bit.

I told Jeff I was gonna do the colon cleanse and he laughed at me and said "you will do anything to win the biggest loser won't you?" And after our dinner last night? I'm sure I consumed 3 days worth of calories in one meal!!!

Have any of you used those beauty tubes instead of mascara? I tried this a couple months ago and REALLY like it! I hated taking my mascara off each night because of the raccoon eyes I would get. These tubes are so simple, and they are waterproof so they stay on until you take them off, and taking them off is so simple. My lashes aren't as long or full as regular mascara, but the sacrifice is worth it for me.

Nope - didn't do the minute clinic - but we do have them. The kids PED is the best in the county and actually has weekend hours. I missed them yesterday, but they open at noon today, I"m going to give the nurse a call.

Thanks for the advice on Strep and the DDP. I'm feeling better about it now, because I was actually thinking I'd have to swap and eat the kid meal and let Nicolas have the adult meal. I do not look forward to teenage years with that kid. He isn't fat - but man he can put food away!

I was LMAO too! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Then scolding myself for thinking that....until I saw I wasn't the only one. Just laughed out loud and almost woke Jim up! :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

1. Thanks for the history lesson. :)

2. Spill the beer cheese fondue recipe if you have it. Carlos LOVES that stuff. We haven't been to the Melting Pot in years, but that is always what he wanted to go for.

My eyes are so stinking sensative. I use the gentle waterproof mascara from Clinique. I love it. Might want to give that one a try sometime. :confused3

GUess what? I'm thinking of canning CM for dinner. I really thought it was the worst of all our ADRs and Nicolas could absolutely care less. I thought there was so much more interaction and fun at the Donald's Safari Breakfast. I called and booked T-Rex for DTD for that night. Nicolas is VERY exicted about it but said he could care less about CMs. I'm with him - that 7:55 pm dinner didn't excite me too much - especially since we'd miss a good night to see Spectro that night.

What do you guys think about that?

I'm toying around with starting a Pre-Trip report. Part of me wants to - part of me thinks that would be just one more thing on my long list of things to do and I"m absolutely nuts!

Lorrie - I thought you did start at PTR??? :confused3 As for CM, we've never been but everything I see people are pretty down on the food and characters as compared to other character meals. And if that's your only chance to see Spectro, I would DEFINITELY can it!

Watching the Daytona 500 right now. We could have gone (about 1 1/2 hrs from here) for $55 pp - they didn't even sell out until last night! The weather is still yucky today - yesterday it drizzled pretty much all day, and today started out beautiful, then the clouds rolled back in and it's drizzly again. There's a concert outside up at the club but no way am I gonna sit in rain for that.

I'll get that fondue recipe for you. We love it! Jeff has a better memory than I do so he made it last night.

Yes, I started one, then got a little spooked (uh hummmm) and deleted it. I started a new one. Figured I've got to quit being such a huge chicken about that sort of stuff. Besides - it is kinda fun! :) I'll have all my plans there documented so when I get ready to scrapbook I can remember them :rotfl:

Plus I'm not bogging down our board with it all. If you are interested in visiting, I put the link down in my signature.

We took both kids in to the dr - both have viral colds with ear infection. Nicolas 1, Mia both ears. :sad2: They did the rapid test on Nicolas, but said they would send out the culture too since rapid was negative. Good thing is his antibiotic is the same they'd do for Strep, so either way we are starting treatment. My ear hurts too - but I have my massive appointment tomorrow. 4 hours of poking and proding. I've got to do my non-scented cleansing today and tomorrow too. Let's see what they come up with. I'm hoping I can skip the pulminary function test since my last one was within six months. Probably not. It all starts at 7 am. YAY ME! That means I have to leave at 6 am to beat rush hour into downtown.

I've caved a little and I'm letting Nicolas watch some Y7 shows. He is just getting so bored with the other things. Carlos said we should try letting him watch a few. He's watching Ben10. I don't think I'm ready for this. :scared:
