We just got our recycling bins and Ally was so excited. FL teaches the kids to be environmentally friendly. She told me the polar bears are dying, the seals are covered in oil, and anytime she sees trash on the road she tells me that hurts the earth. Oy vey! My little tree hugger! :rotfl2:

Oh my when Chloe learnt properly what saving the environment was all about my life was hell ... i'd be brushing my teeth and the water would get turned off i would be getting changed and the light would go off, mum we've gotta save the world, which is all very well and good except when i'm getting dressed or undressed and get plunged into darkness :rotfl2:

Laura - no time for lost here either. I don't have time for most anything at this stage. So I'll be your clueless about lost buddy. I tell you, Carlos is sucking me into Fringe. It is kinda like chewing on tin foil. :lmao:

Ok girl's count me on the No Lost side, i tried and tried and gave up it was all just too much!!
However i'm with Carlos on Fringe, we've only had the first series (or the first part am not sure which) here and i have loooved it

Sorry I missed the earlier questions about Amanda from everyone. Thanks for asking - she's doing better. She usually doesn't get head colds - everything usually settles in her chest. Again, so grateful for the vent. Before she would just struggle to breathe through the congestions; now the machine can help give her bigger, and more effective breaths. I she doesn't have to cough as hard to get stuff up because I can just get it through the trach.

Poor Lauren, on the other hand, is dealing with a miserable head cold. And, not sure if I mentioned this earlier - my baby is "officially" a member of the "women's" club (if you catch my drift!;) ) Yep, this is the second month dealing with it and she's sick of it already!

Glad Amanada is doing better Cammie and glad the machine does it's job

Oh poor Lauren, i feel for her for sure, my best friends DD started hers last summer at just 12 and she has had enough, gets so emotional and hormonal poor girl .. i dread it with Chloe i started mine so early at 11 and have a feeling she could go the same way, which is only a yr away yikes :crazy2:

Having issues with the internet tonight don't know what it's problem is grgrgr
Glad it's Friday tomorrow, seems like it's been a looong week this week!

I am counting down to my holiday i have 9 weeks left, Chloe and i are going to Oklahoma to stay with a friend i met on here .. crazy hey .. We meet up with them when we went last april and we all hit it off so well it's just gone from there, Chloe and her DD write to each other and chat online etc bless them it's lovely .. so our single figures countdown has started how excited are we :hyper:

Kara - Why don't you call Jillian? I don't know if there is anything that can be done. My dad suffered from them a lot. He had a tube inserted into his back once to remove one, and they burst another in a tub. I think his best bet is to get some medication to cope with the discomfort. That is going to require him to see a MD. Why do men just not have time to establish themselves as patients. That irks me so bad!

Cammie - I feel for poor Lauren. I'm just going to say I hope you don't have as much hormonal drama as my neighbor did with her dd. I sware, made me wonder if having a girl was worth it. Very snappy to everyone all the time. You couldn't help but feel sorry for her, but then again, I felt VERY sorry for the mom. :rotfl: I'm glad that the machine does the most of the work for Amanda getting up the crud.

Erin - nah, you aren't nuts. And if you are, we all are, so :confused3 :lmao: . Sounds like such a fun trip! I think we have watched maybe 4 shows of Fringe now. Very Alias like, but quite odd at times. Those are the shows I always end up attracted to.

I've got so much to do, and I don't feel like doing it. I hate when I'm in that sort of mood. I have mountains of paperwork I need to tackle. And then the diet plan :crazy2: I seriously don't know why I can't get it in gear.

AND :offtopic: If I have to put this stupid millinium falcon transformer toy together or stick this doll in the stroller one more stupid time today I'm going to need to go to the nut house! ::yes::

Kara - I meant to ask - with the colder weather, are you having problems with your "creatures" coming in?

When we went to Orlando the first time, Carlos had me so wigged out about small reptiles coming out of the toliet that I turned all the lights on at night before I went to the bathroom. He laughed his butt off.

OMG! Snakes in the toilet! Snakes on a Plane! How will I ever go back????:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Renee was one up on me. Do take your plants back to Home Depot. They should be good at refunding or replacing.

Didn't watch Lost. I can't get sucked into another show.

Glad to hear the Netipot helps. Renee have you been to the allergist to have him take a look at you. If the nose continues it might be something else.

I laughed at the creature comment. I saw another monkey got loose in Tampa. Kara I thought he was headed to your jungle.

Tammie- I will admit that I am far from being green. We do have huge recycling bin. It is as large as my trash can. It goes out every two weeks and it typically is over flowing. I'm not good at getting it all in there. One positive is that they dont make us seperate things. My hunch is they take the stuff right to the garabage burning plant. It makes enough electricity to power the near by towns.

Dogs are getting groomed today. Figured now the cold was over it would be a good time to do it.

Laura, come over to the Lost side - you know you want to... I wonder if they do just burn it here, too! I wouldn't put it past them.

Laura - I LOVED WW! I never officially attended any mtgs., but a friend gave me the paperwork so I was able to set my pt. limit and figure out what I could eat.

You can still eat the food you like - just smaller portions. I just got into a habit of knowing how many pts. everything was that I was eating, so it became a no-brainer. I still say portion control and EXERCISE is the key!

Good luck!

And, good lord......I'm never going to get off of this computer now that LOST has started. I'm becoming obsessed with all of the questions and theories. (I need a life!:rotfl: )

I have to get over to that thread!

Renee - That's about the same amount I lost too. And I "relaxed" my dieting on the weekends - so I was very happy!:goodvibes

As for the homework dates, they are going very well. She actually just came home and told me the teacher incorrectly graded her last test -- that 88 is now a 92!!:cool1: So, yeah, if this boy helps Lauren get an A in math, I will give my blessing for the wedding!:thumbsup2

I'm glad Amanda is okay. Sorry Lauren is sick - and then aunt flo, too - what a pain! Sounds like you should keep that boy around!:thumbsup2

That's pretty much what I'm doing. Fruit and oatmeal for breakfast (about 200-250 cals), a turkey sandwich with ff cheese, ff mayo for lunch, plus a low sodium V8 or baked chips (about 350 cals) or Lean Cuisine, maybe a yogurt for a snack (100 cals), then we try to make a big serving of veggies for dinner, and a halfway healthy meat dish. We still do pasta and potatoes, but I keep my portion of those small. It's working so far. We use www.recipezaar.com for all our healthy recipes. Had a wonderful shrimp last night!!! Then tossed it with pasta (Jeff can't do whole wheat pasta though) and it was about 400 cals for my serving.

Trying to work out 4-5 days a week.

But I may be taking Jeff to the ER tonight. Last night he came home thinking he was passing a kidney stone. This has happened twice before, and the last time was about 4 years ago. I couldn't bear to watch it - it was awful to see him in such agony!!! Finally, he couldn't take it anymore and we left for the ER about midnight, with Ally bundled up in the back, pulled out of bed. On our way there, he was banging the doors, the dash, etc. Freaking me out! About a mile from the hospital, he passed the darn thing!!! And then wouldn't go into the hospital!

So when he came home last night, thinking the same thing was happening, I freaked out. Still nothing has happened, no pain, just a dull ache in his kidneys. I told him to get to the dr in case of infection. But of course he has not established himself as a patient, because he never goes to the dr, so my doctor can't get him in. Now suddenly he's worried! Idiot! So I told him to call my doctor, tell them it's his kidney, and tell them to get him in so he can become a patient. I can't go through another kidney stone with him, if that's what it is. He already told me he won't let it go as long, and he'd go to the ER for drugs this time. But he doesn't think that's what it is, since it hasn't really flared up yet. Jillian, what do you know about this? Can it be a dull pain for awhile before it gets bad???

Okay Kara, I am a kidney stone expert! Jim has had them a couple of times - I can't imagine actually passing one!:scared: That dull ache is a symptom of things to come and you can head it off before it gets to that point. Here's the thing to tell Jeff - my uncle had them several times back in the day when you just had to pass them - he can't ....anymore. So he needs to take care of this! He's too young to be out of comission!

Jim went to a urologist, got a CT scan or KUB, not sure which - then he got Lithotripsy - It is a ultrasound procedure, where they break the stones into tiny flakes that can pass without much pain, and without damage.

Now when he gets that dull ache, he drinks lots of lemonade, and about a gallon of water. The doctor did give him some pills that will melt the stone if you take them before it gets too big.

IF THE DOCTOR DOESN'T OFFER THIS - GET SOMEONE WHO WILL!!!!! YOU CAN FIND MODERN MEDICAL CARE!!!!

Kara...poor Jeff! I hope this all gets resolved! He MUST go to the doctors!!!!!!! He just has too!

Cammie....I am glad Amanda is doing better! But poor Lauren. It has to suck for a youngster getting her friend so young! What a pain!!!

Good luck with the dieting girls. It is a constant battle for us women. I swear it is so annoying!!! I swear this cold frigid weather makes me want to bulk up for winter! I have been starving these past couple weeks and eating like crazy. Now I try to be good when I see my weight creeping up so that I don't have to lose a big chunk again like I have had to MANY of times so I will be putting the stoplight on the eating and getting back to watching what I eat again. Plus, I think I am going to actually start working out next week! We will see.

I am VERY excited to be going to Disney on Ice tonight! Can't wait!

Renee...I am so sorry you are still battling the sinus issues!!! I just know how miserable that must feel. Glad your Dad went to the bathroom too. I hope he feels better soon.

Good morning everyone. I slept last night, and dare to say I"m feeling better. :cool1: I'm actually up here about to put together my food list and go shopping. I also have guess what to do? :laundy:

My SIL just called... on her way to Ft. Myers for a week. :beach: 80 degree weather. I'm seriously wondering why I don't just jump a plane down. ::yes::

I think it would kill me to be that close to WDW and not go though!

Guess what? Magic pixiedust: happened yesterday. Nicolas put that stupid transformer together - TWICE - by himself.. Oh yeah! :cheer2:

Still no stone. :sad2: He really doesn't have any pain though, but he did pop some ibuprofen last night to help with swelling and said that took away a lot of the ache. Thanx, Jillian! :goodvibes

He drank about 1/2 gallon of cranberry juice too, so I need to buy more tonight -and he's drinking tons of water. It's just weird that he's not getting to the pain stage yet.

I'm just glad I didn't go to Tennesee this weekend - I was planning it and then backed out cause, well, I just didn't want to go!

Oh, lost 2 lbs this week! That's a total of 3.5% so far! I should be in the running as far as I can see. I just want to beat my neighbor - he's so obnoxious and in your face about it. I say slow and steady wins the race, and I'm just keeping my mouth shut.

Kara - good job on the weight loss! That is what I lost last week. Since I've been sick, I've not stuck to it too well. I'm wondering what tomorrow will be like. Then again, I got on the scale this morning and it said 174.8, so ... I'm not sure what that will translate into with clothes minus the 2 lb allowance. We'll see tomorrow I guess!

I looked around at the Biggest Loser Club online. $19.95 a month. Now, I know that sounds steep, but they give you 3 books or something like that. The site looked really good. I pay $12.95 a month for WW etools, and found it to look very similar, but you have to remember I pay weekly for meetings too.

I'm trying to decide if I want to keep going there and try to make "lifetime" or not. Once you do make lifetime, you never have to pay so long as you maintain a spread of lbs within your goal weight. I do think you have to run in a weigh once a month or something like that. Part of me thinks I should be able to do all this on my own... another part knows I haven't done so hot on my own the past year.

Renee - you don't need the Biggest Loser. Portion control and exercise. That's all you need. Drink 8 glasses of water a day, I think you would probably be on a 1500 cal/day plan (go to www.calorie-count.com to keep track!), exercise. And you'll lose weight. I also drink 1-2 glasses of sodium free V8 each day - it's got veggies and it helps fill me up.

Jeff just came home and said he knows it's a kidney stone. He's a bit worried, I can tell. By taking the ibuprofen and knowing the swelling has gone down, that has him nervous. So he's popping more advil and hoping the dr calls with an opening.

Debbie - your governor is cracking me up! He refuses to resign! I read that he has an 8% approval rating! And that was BEFORE he was arrested! I can only imagine what the local media is saying.

I really need to book a room for the first weekend in March in Disney. I just keep forgetting and if I don't do it soon, I won't be able to find anything I want.

You may not want to hear this, but it's 64 here today. It's cooler IN the house than it is outside! It's beautiful in the sun!

!
Okay, I logged onto that website. They said 1750 cals a day! I'm a fatty! :sad2: They also suggested my goal weight be 139 :faint: I haven't been that small since highschool.

All that aside. Outside the points conversion, this site that is free gives you the stuff you get on etools. Just dropped that bad boy. ::yes::

I need to take a big girl pill and just suck it up and learn how to do this on my own, don't I??????

Kara - I also meant to ask do you have an urgent care clinic that accepts walk ins? My dr's office has one that you can go to anytime and you just pay like it was an office visit. The trick is you need to get there early to beat the rush. Then again~ Tammie and Jillian know more, but it seems like my dad went into the hospital in pain and they burst his in the tub that next day. They have more diagnostic tests to check out things to go forward.

I know that can't be fun for any of you, but tell him not to let it get so bad that he scares Ally. That generally will get Carlos' attention more than anything.

Just popping in for a quick hi guys! Lauren was home sick today - poor thing was up all night, sneezing and blowing her nose. I'm supposed to take her dress shopping tonight - she's invited to her very first Bat Mitzvah in April and she wants to start looking for something now. I hope she's up for it.

Will be back on tomorrow!

Bless he heart! I hope that she is! She needs to feel good & be in a good mood for that! :goodvibes I hope she feels better soon.

Hi Girls! I had a glass of wine by myself - where was everyone! ;) I had a really busy day - I suddenly have 3 new gals starting under me at once! Lots of questions - lots of orders!

Kara - I hope Jeff can get in before he starts to pass the stone. Good for you on the weight loss! :cheer2:

Debbie - how was disney on ice?

Renee - baby steps, baby steps! You can do it! I looked at that web site - I like the way you can rate your nutritiona and calories for the day - I got a C for today. :sad2: Didn't eat all my calories, but they were empty ones!

Cammie, I hope Lauren feels better and can have fun shopping!

Laura - I'm sorry you're sick - hope you get better really soon!

Debbie, I gained 7 lbs over the holidays - made me sit up and take notice, too! I've lost 3 lbs. this month, but I don't want to gain it back either :p I've done the yo yo thing so much over the years - I'm trying to get my skin tighter with my anti-aging (my knees look really old! :rotfl: ) All that stretching and shrinking makes you look like the "Saggy Baggy Elephant!"

I was supposed to work a Bridal Fair on Sunday, but my VP wants me to skip that one and go to another training out of town in Feb. (I decided I only wanted to spend money on one or the other) - So I'm not sure what I'm doing - we have Myle's 4th birthday party on Sunday afternoon!:cheer2:

Hi Girls...
I actually know a neighbor who was obese and lost weight with the biggest loser! But Kara's web site was nice and looked helpful! I will email the link to you guys since I am already going to email it to a few others!
I am off to clean for the day and then go to a party tonight. I am looking forward to the party but it's an hour away! That's the pisser!

Hi Ladies! Looks like everyone is busy today! I did a phone order and then I took time with my kiddos, spent time on the phone with my mom, made ice cream with Myles, and took a nap - now I'm late to get to the church bus!:wave2:

Debbie, hope the party was fun!

Tim made it home in one piece last night. I get to have him for two weeks and then back to TX. He's cleaning up the kitchen after dinner while I am laying down.

Debbie have fun at the party.

Jillian. You said something earlier...."you can do WW while preggers". Something you want to share?

Tammie sounds like it is getting busy for you with work. How much traveling do you do. A gal from school was tsllking about arebonne. She is a consultant too. Apparently there are several at school. Small world.

How did Lauren do at bb? I loved playing at that age. No real pressure.

Off to bed to beat this cold
