Renee- My CT scan was clean too, but after my 7th sinus infection the ENT decided to go in and take a look and I was a mess. I had Nasal Polyps and on a mm opening in my right sinus cavity the CT missed it all. Talk to your doctor It really helped me.
Well, you make me feel a bit better. My dr. comment that all looked good, but seriously - it always ALWAYS starts on the right side, so I'm just going out on a limb saying I feel there is something funky with that... you know?

It is so freakin cold here!!! 4 nights in a row with a hard freeze - I have lost a lot of my landscaping in the backyard because we're too lazy and stupid to cover the stuff up at night! Oh, well, Home Depot will be glad cause we'll give them our money again in the spring! :rotfl:

Kara, if you purchased it in the last year they will replace it - even if you were dumb and didn't cover it up. I went to buy more one year and told them I missed the cover up warning - they still told me to go home and get the receipt - which I had no idea where it was. It was a small tree. They asked if we still had the little wrap around tag on it. Why of course we did! That was Carlos' job to remove it! Gave us full credit :thumbsup2

I was up most of the night. Couldn't sleep for all the congestion. I do think I feel better, but I dont' know if it is because when I'm upright totally I can breathe. I want to go out & get the sinus packs, but I'm thinking I might wait until Mr. C comes home tonight. I just don't want to be out in the cold.

Yeah Cammie - how are these study dates going? How is Amanda doing too? I was thinking about her this morning. How miserable I feel all congested, but at least I can blow my nose which brings some relief. Does she just have to let the head colds clear themselves? :sad2: I know she is a big girl, but all I could think is poor baby! :sad1:

Good morning ladies! I watched the review hour of Lost, and then started falling asleep 15 in into the real episode. We went to bed and watched a little bit more, but feel asleep and missed alot. Good thing for Tivo!

Someone asked about our weekend - we had a great time - successful presentations and a fun time. We found a great place to eat! The peace and quiet was nice!

Renee, I'm sorry your sinuses are giving you fits again! I hope you find the solution. I'm glad your dad is doing better, but I hope he gets to the doc soon!
We do have samples - I thought I sent you one:confused3 There is a 45 day guarantee, so you don't have to worry about that. Anyway, we are coming out with a new line that is supposed to be "to die for." Whole plant cells from fruits and vegetables - called Fresh Cell formula. They only have it in one place in Europe, nowhere in the U.S. I'll send you samples of that one then. It is mostly for ages 16-30, but I have a feeling I'm going to be jealous - I have to have my "wrinkle serum" though.

Cammie - I'm sorry you are still getting so much snow - and then it is harder for you to deal with that ramp! Maybe there will be a break soon. At least you can look forward to getting away in a month!:cheer2:
How is Amanda doing?

Kara, You have been really cold down there! I saw last weekend it was the same temp in Orlando as it was here - that would be a bummer if you were on vacation down there! I told Jim to make a note we aren't going in january ever.

Laura, glad you are getting the tax stuff done. I have a huge amount of stuff to sort through - I'd better get started.

Debbie, thanks for checking in! I'll email you!

Tessa, I'm afraid we are really spoiled over here. we talk alot about "Green" around here - it is a "hippy" state! :rotfl2: It is funny - we have recycle bins and can just throw everything in there all together - like that. Jim rides his bike to work in the Summer and Fall, But as for the "down and dirty" stuff - I think most people like to point fingers at everyone else, and then don't make the changes themselves. One of my clients is an attorney who started a "green" store. The stuff is so expensive - $7 for paper plates! We do use recycled whenever possible. anyway I told her that I was not totally green, but I felt that if everyone did their part and tried to go as natural as they could, every little bit helps. She wrote back that she had some high ideals, but hadn't made all the changes yet, either! She wasn't ready to give up her SUV yet:lmao:

And about cars - we love our van, too! We get 20 mpg and 25 on the highway. Not much worse than the little tiny cars. We were noticing that most of those "hybrid" cars only get 27 or 30. Not a huge difference. I was wondering, if everyone gets hybrids and starts plugging in their cars, what will that do to the price of electricity?:confused3 We certainly won't be saving the energy!

Allright, my soapbox moment is over - have a great day everyone! Don't forget to watch the Oprah hormone show today!

Tammie - you did send me a packet that had the catalog & the ABC samples for Mia. I tell you when I tried that, I so wanted it to work because for someone with scent issues #1 it smelled lovely and #2 I felt good about using it -but she definately has an issue with zinc for whatever reason. I can't explain it but she breaks out terribly with it. The ped is even stumped about it.

As for me, I'm becoming more scent sensative, and the only thing I have thought of lately is it has been worse since we have had the kids and tried to switch to fragrence free everything. Maybe that is making me more sensative... who knows. :confused3

Let me just tell you, our April trip to WDW was down right miserable that last day! We had on LS shirts, sweatshirt hoodies, jeans and I thought I was going to die - granted that was 50 degrees high, the wierdest cold front in like 50 years, but it was CHILLY. Made me realize then & there, me & FL in Jan won't fly! :rotfl2: Then again, I realize for some of my friends... that is short weather.

Kara - I meant to ask - with the colder weather, are you having problems with your "creatures" coming in?

When we went to Orlando the first time, Carlos had me so wigged out about small reptiles coming out of the toliet that I turned all the lights on at night before I went to the bathroom. He laughed his butt off.

Renee was one up on me. Do take your plants back to Home Depot. They should be good at refunding or replacing.

Didn't watch Lost. I can't get sucked into another show.

Glad to hear the Netipot helps. Renee have you been to the allergist to have him take a look at you. If the nose continues it might be something else.

I laughed at the creature comment. I saw another monkey got loose in Tampa. Kara I thought he was headed to your jungle.

Tammie- I will admit that I am far from being green. We do have huge recycling bin. It is as large as my trash can. It goes out every two weeks and it typically is over flowing. I'm not good at getting it all in there. One positive is that they dont make us seperate things. My hunch is they take the stuff right to the garabage burning plant. It makes enough electricity to power the near by towns.

Dogs are getting groomed today. Figured now the cold was over it would be a good time to do it.

If you wanna hang with us you are gonna have to watch!

Hey, wasn't it too funny how he was shirtless and kept trying to get a shirt....and wasn't it predictable that the obnoxious whinnier was going to meet him maker!!
AND I know I missed something (nothing new) but who is the elderly lady at the end!

BTW Not good....I am starting to see squiggly lines in front of my eyes! Hello....migrane! Bye!

Renee....I hope your dad is doing better!

Hi to all you other ladies!

Remember the lizard in our room at Yacht Club??? He was in the tub!!! But I haven't seen anything here this winter. It's so freakin cold NOTHING wants to hang around outside!

I saw that about the monkey too!!!! I was just waiting for him! The good thing this winter is we haven't had a problem with armadillos destroying our yard like last year (knock on wood!). They are usually out in Jan/Feb. I know my neighbor has one living under her bedroom window though. I just hope he stays there!

As far as I can tell, on my own scale, I'm down 7.5 lbs in 3 weeks. I'm muching on carrots right now though and so NOT enjoying it!

We just got our recycling bins and Ally was so excited. FL teaches the kids to be environmentally friendly. She told me the polar bears are dying, the seals are covered in oil, and anytime she sees trash on the road she tells me that hurts the earth. Oy vey! My little tree hugger! :rotfl2:

I fell completely off the wagon. I returned the nutri-system food to Costco. I tried but it just didn't taste good. I figured I was eating so little I needed to eat something I did like. I did like the portion size and I wasn't hungry. I'm shooting to try weight watchers next week.

Beth is right there with Ally.

Laura - I LOVED WW! I never officially attended any mtgs., but a friend gave me the paperwork so I was able to set my pt. limit and figure out what I could eat.

You can still eat the food you like - just smaller portions. I just got into a habit of knowing how many pts. everything was that I was eating, so it became a no-brainer. I still say portion control and EXERCISE is the key!

Good luck!

And, good lord......I'm never going to get off of this computer now that LOST has started. I'm becoming obsessed with all of the questions and theories. (I need a life!:rotfl: )

I was thumbing through the Biggest Loser Family Cookbook that just came out. There were some good receipes that I think we will use out of it. For me, a LOT of it comes down to planning and trying to make it so I'm not fixing 3 or 4 different meals for each meal. The kids are super picky eaters. I wish I could win the lottery and hire my own personal chef!

I've done horrible for this week. 3 weeks and I've been at 3.8 lost, but I haven't done anything since I got sick.

On a side note, I feel a bit better today. Not to get too graphic, but the netipot flushed out lots, so I'm at least breathing. I agree with you all. SOMETHING is wrong here. Then I got to thinking - Nicolas has bad Fall Allergies, so I keep the windows shut then (per dr. recommendation) and Carlos has spring so bad he breaks out under his eyes so I keep them shut then. Summer is too hot, winter is too cold, yada yada yada, my house hasn't been aired out in 2 years.... the exact amount of time since my sinus problems kicked into high gear.

I do think I will go to the Sinus/Allergy program and let them figure it out. If nothing else, I'll give them a good case study. :rotfl2: I've got to wait until the new insurance cards come in though. The joys of changing jobs.

Laura - no time for lost here either. I don't have time for most anything at this stage. So I'll be your clueless about lost buddy. I tell you, Carlos is sucking me into Fringe. It is kinda like chewing on tin foil. :lmao:

How did I miss that when I was reading. I've done WW twice now. I lost from almost 200 to 160 (5 lbs from my goal weight) and got preggers with Mia. Now I'm back in. My third week. I really like the meetings, but I've had 2 really motivating leaders that I loved, and 4 that stunk. You have to find someone that you relate to. For me, it works, but I need work on the emotional eating side of things.

If you happen to want an overview of the program~ I have all the materials here. :)

Renee - That's about the same amount I lost too. And I "relaxed" my dieting on the weekends - so I was very happy!:goodvibes

Sorry I missed the earlier questions about Amanda from everyone. Thanks for asking - she's doing better. She usually doesn't get head colds - everything usually settles in her chest. Again, so grateful for the vent. Before she would just struggle to breathe through the congestions; now the machine can help give her bigger, and more effective breaths. I she doesn't have to cough as hard to get stuff up because I can just get it through the trach.

Poor Lauren, on the other hand, is dealing with a miserable head cold. And, not sure if I mentioned this earlier - my baby is "officially" a member of the "women's" club (if you catch my drift!;) ) Yep, this is the second month dealing with it and she's sick of it already!

As for the homework dates, they are going very well. She actually just came home and told me the teacher incorrectly graded her last test -- that 88 is now a 92!!:cool1: So, yeah, if this boy helps Lauren get an A in math, I will give my blessing for the wedding!:thumbsup2

Ya know, I was going to ask at one point, how old girls are now when that happens. Poor thing - I remember it like it was yesterday... :sad2:

Laura - I had heard from the Jenny Craig website that nutrisystem food was pretty yucky. But based on what I'm doing (my own version of JC), I agree with Cammie. Portion control and exercise. I'm trying to keep between 1200-1300 cals a day. I use www.calorie-count.com. It actually grades you on your food choices. JC had me on about 60% of my calories were carbs.

The other guideline I was given were unlimited veggies, two fruit servings, and for lunch and dinner to use my fist as a guideline for starch and meat. Or 4 oz each. I try to do that now and so far so good. Oh, and 8 glasses of water a day.

Laura- I am going back on weight watchers too. I have realized it is just too hard to eat something different from Mike and Luca I cook it and want to eat it. I will start again when I get back from Disney. You can also do WW preggers so that will be good for me.

Cammie- glad the Study sessions are going so well. I wish it would warm up here a bit. Today is not so bad,but I hear the week is going to get worse. 39 days left for me.

Kara- Oh no please stop talking about the bugs. Mike wants to move there and I am going to have terminex out to put those traps out and make sure everything is sealed as much as it can be. Eww

Renee- Glad this are better. Did you ask your doc about the inhaled antibiotic? That was going to be my last step but I opted for surgery instead just figured I would clear out the issue.

Kara- Before I was with Mike I lost a ton of weight and what I did was portion control and I worked out monday thru friday and took the weekends off. I ate a yogurt for breakfast a lean cusine for Lunch and a reasonable dinner. Usually what ever was made just portion control. I lost 30 lbs in 2.5 months I was amazed.

Yeah, portion size is key. I followed it to a T the first time. Now, I half way pay attention. It shows. Now 3 weeks and I lost 3.8 lbs. Before with me following it, 4.2 lbs on average per week for the first 6 weeks. It as easier then though becasue Nicolas was small and still eating baby food. ::yes::

I just need to stop being lazy. That is my problem.:rolleyes2

That's pretty much what I'm doing. Fruit and oatmeal for breakfast (about 200-250 cals), a turkey sandwich with ff cheese, ff mayo for lunch, plus a low sodium V8 or baked chips (about 350 cals) or Lean Cuisine, maybe a yogurt for a snack (100 cals), then we try to make a big serving of veggies for dinner, and a halfway healthy meat dish. We still do pasta and potatoes, but I keep my portion of those small. It's working so far. We use www.recipezaar.com for all our healthy recipes. Had a wonderful shrimp last night!!! Then tossed it with pasta (Jeff can't do whole wheat pasta though) and it was about 400 cals for my serving.

Trying to work out 4-5 days a week.

But I may be taking Jeff to the ER tonight. Last night he came home thinking he was passing a kidney stone. This has happened twice before, and the last time was about 4 years ago. I couldn't bear to watch it - it was awful to see him in such agony!!! Finally, he couldn't take it anymore and we left for the ER about midnight, with Ally bundled up in the back, pulled out of bed. On our way there, he was banging the doors, the dash, etc. Freaking me out! About a mile from the hospital, he passed the darn thing!!! And then wouldn't go into the hospital!

So when he came home last night, thinking the same thing was happening, I freaked out. Still nothing has happened, no pain, just a dull ache in his kidneys. I told him to get to the dr in case of infection. But of course he has not established himself as a patient, because he never goes to the dr, so my doctor can't get him in. Now suddenly he's worried! Idiot! So I told him to call my doctor, tell them it's his kidney, and tell them to get him in so he can become a patient. I can't go through another kidney stone with him, if that's what it is. He already told me he won't let it go as long, and he'd go to the ER for drugs this time. But he doesn't think that's what it is, since it hasn't really flared up yet. Jillian, what do you know about this? Can it be a dull pain for awhile before it gets bad???

thanks for the pep talk on ww. I know it is a good plan. I lost 15 lbs on it before. I just need to buckle down and watch portions.

Kara- does your health plan offer a nurse line? I use mine all the time to get answers if I should head in or not. I would assume that stones can be a dull pain and then get worse as they work their way out. my heart goes out to jeff. not a fun thing to do.
