Oh yes i agree with Jillian Renee .. my mum and i did this not so long ago and chilled out all day drinking tea then had lunch and our treatments it was just sooo lovely!!!

OOOOHHHH.... you girls are good! That does sound lovely. I'm sure we have somewhere around here that does something like that. Now, here is a stupid question from a novice. Do you have time other than lunch to talk... or is it you doing your own thing all day... or how does it work?

it will depend on the spa. Most of the time your treatments are done is seperate rooms and then you meet back in one common place for refreshments and relaxing before moving to the next treatment. Love that idea. Makes me think I am due myself. I will sometimes hit the local beauty school for a low cost facial.

Hi everyone! I was watching the inaugaration today - wasn't on here. Then I had a business lunch, and now it's nap time! :cool1:

I'm sorry but I have to go off for a minute - I hope y'all will forgive me for this...

While I am thrilled and proud of America for electing our first black president, I think we should all be proud. But I am sickened that during a time of major economic crisis, people losing their jobs right and left, companies closing their doors, etc, that we would allow ANYONE to spend $170 million on the inauguration. The most expensive inauguration prior to this was $40 million 4 years ago, and he caught hell for that because we had a war going on. I hope this is not a sign of things to come and I will surely pray for our new president and for our country.

And now back to our regularly scheduled fun and silliness.

I know - it is quite a deal! I am excited for our first black president, I just wish I trusted him more. I actually felt sick to my stomach. But we'll see - maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. So far I'm not impressed with his first speech, but Michelle had a nice dress :goodvibes

Just kidding - I think he will do a good job, but I raised an eyebrow at that 170m figure too. Just seems like maybe they could have some how cut back a bit :confused3 but I dunno, I'm not doing the planning.

Hey everyone, I don't know if this is All Malls or just ours, but our local news was saying there is a class action brought against all major cosmetic brands sold at Dillards & Macys and as part of this the companies (Clinique, Este Lauder... ) donated products to be given away to people who sign stating they purchased from the companies in I THINK it was like the last 10 years. They let you pick from about 20 full size products. Our Dillards reported to have 4000 units to give away. Here it starts today and should last approx a week, or until supplies give out.

Just thought I would mention it. On TV they showed big packages of full sized products to give away.

BTW - called the dr becasue I have green/bloody junk coming down the back of my throat - nothing in the nose. Asked did I need to come in. NOPE. Another Sinus infection. Put me on another round of antibiotics. :sad2: WTH is wrong with me?

I read that law suit a couple of years ago - those companies were selling their products with less than desirable ingredients for big $$ in the department stores, then re-packaging the SAME stuff and selling at Walmart, etc. under other names. You know how I feel, I wouldn't use them even free! :rotfl2:

Arbonne owns their own forumulas - doesn't sell them or repackage them. (sorry, that's part of my presentation.)

Oh boy, I just jumped in here with my opinions, didn't I? You know what they say about opinions....:rotfl:

Renee, I know how you feel - I love Jillian and Laura's idea about the spa day. If this discussion comes up alot, maybe you can agree on an amount of "mad money" you could have every month, then save it for what you want to do - I know a few couples who do that.

I know some gals who do home businesses or get very part time jobs just to have their own money to spend. Jim just gives me all his money and mine too! I'm really a pirate: !

Where are Debbie and Cammie? Looks like you girls had coffee posting this morning! Have a great night!

:offtopic: Tammie you are not in the minority when it comes to having a sinking feeling about Obama. I wish him the best BUT I always question anyone who wants to take that much power on. I think (okay read HOPE) he will be much more conservative than he was made out to be in the campaign. :offtopic: just my rant too :mic:

off to see how to get more money back from my taxes. I am on a track to find a way to deduct beth's school tuition. Yes it will be legal :rotfl:

Good luck with that! :goodvibes

Hiya all,

Kara - hubby bikes to and from work every day - they are following the green "mantra" and built their new HQ with parking for half the amount of cars needed - you can only get a space if you car share, or on school holidays, or if you book - 3 days per month allowed etc.... Disabled get a space of course - but no allowance made for needing to pick up kids on the way home/ caring for elderly relatives in lunchbreak etc - I hate all this GREEN (captals!!) stuff. We don't get to park, but shopping malls get to air condition the whole world with their open doors... and air freight green beans from Kenya, and send our plastic to be recycled in China... priorities are wrong somewhere...

Well, we also saw your new President taking office.... he talks a good talk .... how it all cost that much though -good grief!!!
My little girls were confused though - they thought his name was Osama and wondered why THAT man was becoming president of the US.... We had a giggle when I explained.... We also had the "wooo so America has a new president, so what" Then I said about it being a historic moment, him being the first black President. They just could not understand, I guess the colour of your skin is not noticed as anything to be different by young kids at all... I wish that carried on into adolescence.... world would be a much nicer place.

Have just seen our news..... $100 million of the cost of the inauguration was security!!! 25,500 people involved in just security - wow!!

Tessa

Kara...listen.... are those crickets? chirp chirp chirp

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

I know! I was wondering about that after I posted - leave it to you to call to my attention!!! :rotfl2:

I will totally support whoever is in office, because that is MY president. I do wish him well, and I have been excited for him, for our country, and for change. We do need change. And while I was not at all happy with W over the past 4 years, I was sickened that people were booing him at the inauguration. Tasteless, classless, and just plain sad. But he and Obama have worked so well together and I think President Obama has a lot of class, knowing how upset people are with Pres Bush, he did a lot to pull the country together even before yesterday.

Isn't Loreal just Lancomme?

Excellent idea! Then if you know you have something big to plan for, just save up your "mad" money!

Maybe I scared them off? :rotfl2:

I agree with you. I do think we all need to do our part, but it seems like going green is more of a HOllywood ideal and not something people really practice. If we all want to do it, we need to make some sacrifices. We finally got recycling bins from our garbage company and Ally is very excited about that. The schools really teach "going green" here. Florida is very eco friendly. But what gets me is all these huge SUVs we all drive. Seriously, how did your parents survice way back when? We love our roomy vehicles, but do we really "need" them? Nah. We're just so spoiled. But have I gotten rid of my SUV? Nope. Americans really are hypocrites in a lot of ways. Maybe if we'd buy smaller fuel effecient vehicles, the middle east wouldn't have as much power as they do because we wouldn't be so dependent on their oil.

Well, we also saw your new President taking office.... he talks a good talk .... how it all cost that much though -good grief!!!

Tessa

When Ally came home from school yesterday, we sat and watched the parade together. She understands some of what is going on, but the whole idea of what a president really does just didn't make sense to her. She is concerned that Pres Obama might "take our freedom away." :rotfl: I had to explain to her that won't happen.

The streets in DC were electric yesterday and it was very exciting. No doubt he is the most popular incoming president that I can remember! Actions speak louder than words though, and this country needs some serious action now!!!

Michelle Obama looked beautiful yesterday - loved her suit she wore! But what was up with that ball gown? It looked like someone wadded up tissues and stuck all over it! Yeah, I get like this during the Hollywood award shows too! :rotfl2: It's all about the dresses! And I loved the way he would kiss her while they were dancing, or they would just grab hands while walking down the street yesterday. It makes them both seem so human and it's nice to see.

One last thing. Seriously, who would want that job???? Have you seen how each president ages over their terms??? I age enought on a daily basis, why add to that? :rotfl2:

Kara- I was saying the same thing to Mike yesterday their lives changed in a matter of minutes. He looked so Lonely standing there before his inaguration. It is good to see how in love they still are it seems they might set a great example. I am hoping he does turn his words into Actions. I am a die hard dem. but will support our country and it's President. I agree the Booing was wrong and it is NOT all his fault, but it is really nice to see the change.

I went to the Macy's thing yesterday as I have bought many products over the years. I took my mother and sister. I got Chanel lotion which I buy for special occasions only. I wore it on my wedding day so it always reminds me of that day. I love it.

Renee- How are things going?

Laura- How did the deductions work out?

Tammie- How was your weekend?

Tessa- I have gone GREEN as much as I can stand too. Our recycling is very complicated and will not be picked up if exactly correct. Lazy Garbage men. We actually have to cut boxes into a 6x6 cubes??? So Mike burns everything so it doesn't end up in a landfill. Although I am thinking it may not be so good for our air???? Who knows:rolleyes:

Tammie - okay this is off topic, but if your stuff ever has a opportunity to buy like a sample pack - please let me know. I'm just going to be honest with you. I was very interested in the idea, but a LOT nervous about buying the products and being stuck with them if they wouldn't work. I have too many memories of trying Este Lauder, Origins, Lancome, and being left with a nice red chemical like burn that required hydrocortizone for weeks to fully recover from. My skin is SUPER sensitive, and honestly, the only thing I have been able to use is Clinique makeup - and I've moved on to explore the Senstive Neutrogena that my Derm recommended. That has done well too.

Michelle's dress was lovely. I stopped watching after the ceremony, so I missed all the other stuff.

On going green. I hear you. I try to do some things. I felt really good about my bulbs, until Tessa :goodvibes. I asked for a recycling center out in the garage for Christmas. No cost mind you - we already have the bins, I just needed the info on how to sort it. Did I get that (or anything BTW) for Christmas - nope. :sad2: I need to do that myself I guess. But, GUILTY for the vehicle. I drive a minivan. I LOVE my minivan. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. and it is foreign, Kara but I LOVE it! Love the button and the doors open, love the room when people go with us. Love the storage. Love it on trips. Ahhhhhh..... I'm a hypocrit too! :sad1: I do save my bags, choose recycled packaging products over not, and use reusable bags for a lot. SO maybe I"m not totally an environmental nightmare... :guilty:

And as for concerns/worries over the country. Checks & Balances baby :thumbsup2 beautiful thing! I'm just in awe of how great our forefathers were at planning all that stuff out. Seriously. I LOVED National Treasure. Just saw it over the holidays for the first time. I'm a bit of a history nerd though. :rotfl: I'm so glad we live in a country where we are encouraged to be skeptical of our officials. I think that is seriously a good thing. Keep them on their toes and doing better to prove us wrong. ::yes::

I FEEL LIKE POO today. Seriously. I had a rotten night. This sinus infection has drained into my chest, so now I have a chest cold too.

Oh - and for my BF. I think I'm going to hock some stuff on EBAY :lmao: to make some $$$, then I'm going to use that to have her a custom piece of jewelry made. If anyone likes silver custom pieces, Liz Eaton on ETSY.com does great work. I had a word ring made for $15, and Carlos a "reasons why I shouldn't" necklace made with the kids names on them that I'm planning to give him for Vday. It is the children's name circle necklace I believe. But she does custom stuff too, so I might pick her brain.

Okay, off to Gymboree. I have gymbucks to use and I need to buy school clothes for the kids. At least they are now at an age I can buy sale stuff for next year when they are both in school

I would think 2t should work I think you will have to look at the way they are sized. I always find Gymboree large or maybe Luca small :upsidedow I am going to check out that website suggested and see if maybe I can convince Mike to get something for Valentines Day even though I don't really believe in that holiday pirate:

18 - 24 los still fits katie. She is in the 50th percentile for height and she is 2. 2t should do well. My evil kids store is "The Childrens Place outlet or Hannah Andersson. Good luck.

I have no motivation to do anything today. I did find the deductions. They were on my state return. Now I will go back and amend my 2007 rtn to get the credit. I think it will $200+. So defintely worth it. I just have to do it. I hated the year I spent in the CPA office but it taught me ally when it comes to taxes.

.

Yeah, it is a crap shoot for me. Mia is 3rd percentile for weight, 75th percentile for height. Man that was frustrating. I tried to check out 4 times. Each time something was sold out, so I'd have to go pick something else to be able to use the free $50 cause I was trying to buy just enough. Well - of course some of the things I had my heart set on sold out. ERRR! Oh well 15 pieces for $50. Not too bad. Plus one was her christmas dress! :)

Mia is over here trying to type. I felt crummy enough to tell Nicolas I wasn't taking him to school today. My DSF took pity & came and got him for the science museum today. :thumbsup2 That means I might get to lay down while Mia naps :cool1: My head is killing me.

I've never tried Hannah Andersson. I get their catalog. Thought the prices were steep. What do you think of them?

You sound like Jeff - I'm surprised he believes in celebrating our anniversary - wait, I KNOW why he likes to celebrate THAT day! ;) :rotfl2:
:rotfl: :rotfl:

Carlos celebrates "THE WEEK OF CARLOS" for his birthday. I'm not lying! It is so silly. He generally takes off that week to do whatever he wants.

Let's see... He celebrates Cinco de Mayo.... and somehow forgets V-day, our anniverary, his familys' birthdays, my birthday, christmas... :confused3 :rotfl2: :lmao:

Sorry I have neglected you guys! I am running around right now and was SUPER crabby yesterday (no need to subject you guys to that). I will catch up soon! Facebook is fast and erratic but when I come here I like to focus and really listen to what you guys have to say....

Hannah is crazy expensive. We have an outlet about 45 min from here. I think that is the only way I buy their stuff. My best deal was a full play dress for $20, that was the dress leggings and socks. The stuff lasts forever!

Hi guys! Popping in real quick to let you know I'm still alive and all is well here! I have soooo much to catch up on and I promise to be back on later. Amanda gets home early today; and Lauren has another "Homework" date! I can't complain - the kid helped her study last week for a math test and she got an 88! Math is her WORST subject so I was impressed. I think I'm making some choc.drizzled popcorn for a snack for them.

Be back later!

LOST IS ON TONITE!!!!:hyper: :cool1:

Debbie and Cammie glad to hear you are both around.

I will decorate for VDay this year for Luca and will try to get more into it but Mike doesn't believe in flowers and Candy so I have just gotten use to it being another day. :confused3 I love all of the hearts and flowers I guess I just wished I got them ;)
