Hiya all,

thanks Kara.... I'm using Weight watchers points plan again - it works (as long as I follow it). I've not cut back too much - mainly no beige food - so no pastry, cakes, cookies, potato chips, things in breadcrumbs, cheese (well, a little bit of cheese:rolleyes1...). But plenty of colourful food - lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, cherries, berries, cucumber, apples, oranges, broccoli, shrimps, grapes, corn on the cob, green beans, chilli beans etc - you get the picture.... Strange, but when I see it listed like that I can see why I'm losing weight!!!!!

Anyhow - it is working and I don't feel deprived since I get so much support - hubby, family, WW group and here with you guys - it is sooooooooo motivating. Also, Friday night is my night off - so I eat what I like and positively look forward to a bar of chocolate. Finally -having the willpower to do it is making me feel good too.

Working out mmmmmmmm no, well, not yet anyhow.... Though, does ironing count? When I feel like snacking between meals I do some ironing first - I don't think I have ever pressed dishcloths, bathtowels etc before in my life!!

Cheers
Tessa

sounds like I missed alot. Got home from the lake last night. A 2 hour drive turned into 3 hours because we had to stop at every rest stop. Love potty training!

I will catch up more later. girls are going nuts now. They got used to running around in the water at all hours. Off to recover the house.

It's not even noon yet and already the real feel temp is 112!!!! It's sooooo hot!

Good Morning!

Tessa - congrats on losing a stone!:banana::banana: You rock! It sounds like you are eating really healthy!

Kara, how is life at the pool?
Lydia - do you have sunshine yet?
Cammie - nice to hear from you - I'm glad things are better for now anyway.

Laura, I'm afraid we'll be doing that on the way to Texas. Londynn will be 2 on July 24th, but she has started staying dry and asking to sit on the potty - and she's starting to relate poopy to the potty too, but she just doesn't make it there. We were hoping to just start after our road trip, but she has other ideas. Of course Mark has the route planned to the hour so it should be funny to see how this all works out!:rotfl2:

Us parents who have never driven cross country with two toddlers - one who got carsick - and who have never moved - and don't know anything about loading a truck - WE ARE TO KEEP OUR MOUTH SHUT AND NOT OFFER ADVICE - WE ARE JUST ALONG TO DRIVE THE TRUCK:lmao::lmao::lmao: It will be interesting to see how things go!

I have alot to get done today - the kids are with their other grandma - I spent all day yesterday working on getting our cable bill manageable again - I have to negotiate it once a year - and working on a bank error. I got an overdraft because they put someone else's electric payment on our account. It's an account we don't use - I don't even have checks with the right account number and bank name on them - itchanged. Why was it my responsibility to try to solve the problem? :headache: I think it was the babysitter who stole from us last year - I can't find that checkbook on my desk - but the account number was made up - how did they let it go through, and why did they put it on my account?:confused3 I'm not getting any answers, just "we'll take care of it."

Hi to Tina, Erin, Jillian, Lorrie -Is Debbie back yet? No texts lately. Everyone else - Hi!

Tammie - that sounds like a nightmare!!! I swear bank don't care what happens to your money. You give it to them to borrow and take care of and they abuse it like it's a rock to kick down the street.

Kara - you're scaring me with the weather temps. We're sitting up here and it's freezing! I've got windows open and we've got blankets on us - 69 degrees and hey surprise it's going to rain tonight!

Teresa - HOORAY!!!! :cool1: So proud of you for taking that jump start you can do it!! I'm trying to stay active before our trip. I walked yesterday and I'm trying to do it everyday - I say that after I've just eaten a bowl full of ice cream!

To follow up with DD9's cold issue - we sent her to school today for field day/bbq and the nurse called for us to pick her up - she needs to be out for 7 days - she can go back to school tomorrow - even though the doctor said she's fine. Whatever!

So today at the BBQ I walked over to another mother because I thought she was the parent who was going to work at the daycamp DDs are going to this summer. So I walked over there and asked her if she was that parent and you would have thought I asked her if she would serve her daughter for lunch to the slaves. She was so rude to me. She rudely said NO and then as I tried to apologize she adruptly turned and started to talk to another mother, while I stood there. What a jerk! It actually made me feel sad that she was so mean to me. Now I can be a real B**** and have been known for giving my opinion when it's not asked for, but this time I was trying to be nice. This is why I think DD9 doesn't have a lot of friends because I refuse to be one of those overly makeuped, coach carrying Barbies who go with the flow just to fit in. I like to wear sweatpants and I don't care that I'm overweight and will give my own opinion and hey I will watch my kid instead of gossip about something stupid. WHOO! Sorry about that. I'm better.

How's everyone else doing?

Tina - I had to laugh cause I'm the same way.... I pretty much stopped wearing makeup much at all cause I work from home and I'm not about to put it on just to run to the school or something. Today I drove Ally to summer camp in my nightgown!!!! She called me to bring her lunch (she left it on the counter) and when I got there she said, "good, you at least showered." :rotfl2: Poor kid was probably terrified that I'd show up in my jammies!!!!

Tammie - oh, good luck with all that. I know anytime we have moved, if my dad or Jeff's dad offered any "help" with loading the truck, Jeff went ballistic. So let the kids do their thing and bite your tongue, no matter how hard it is. I'm having a hard time these days biting my tongue....... I'm just sick of people walking all over me. I'm a pretty nice person, but I don't like to be taken advantage of. So I'm becoming a mouth. Not very good. So don't be like me. It will go smoother that way. ;)

Okay, you showered, but were you wearing a bra?:rotfl2:

Thanks for the insite. We will need to let them be the adults and we'll be the old people! As for you getting a mouth, I think that comes with getting a little more mature - Tawanda!!!! (Remember Fried Green Tomatoes?) Love it!:lmao:

Tina, us "real people" just have to accept we're not the barbies and let them be shallow on their own time:cutie: Of course in my business, I need to put on at least some make-up - the whole image thing, but I'm not a barbie at heart!

Good morning girls! Hope all is well with everyone! The sun has been out for the last two days - but unfortunately after today, I don't think we'll be seeing it again until next week! UGH!

I have another dentist appt. this morning - another UGH. This is the last full week of school for both girls. Lauren finishes up next Wed.; been running around this past week with lots of end-of-schoolyear activities. Amanda's last day is Tues; is off for two weeks then starts summer session on July 6th. I honestly cannot believe it's mid-June already - and my baby girl is going to be an 8th grader next year!:sad1:

So I got a camera the other day - Nikon Coolpix. I LOVE it and it takes amazing pictures. BUT - I was telling the guy at the store that I want to use it for sporting events and concerts and he told me there was no way I would be allowed to use it at those events; and if I tried to take it in, the guard would probably take away the battery. Do you guys think that's true? I've always taken cameras in but it was just by Sony Cybershot, which is small; but I'm pretty sure they've seen it. This new camera isn't THAT big; and it's not like it has extra lens and flashes. I'd be really disappointed about it if it's true; I want to use the better camera for when Lauren meets the Jonas Brothers. Have any of you had experience with this?

I'm off to shower and then Target before the dentist. I have to return some bathing suits I had purchased for Lauren that, IMO, are just too "mature" looking for her. I swear, you want to be depressed? Watch your teenage daughter try on bikinis. Skinny brat.:sad2:

ekkk! i know that day is coming but I am putting my head in the sand. I can't imagine beth in a bikini. Good luck at the dentist. I head in to mine on Thursday.

Tina--i'm in the same boat as you. I'm lucky though. the barbie bregade isn't involved at school so I can be myself. I'm not a fashionista at all.

Summer is going okay so far. Rain again today. Beth has managed to have playdates scheduled each day this week. Im grateful, it takes a lot off my shoulders. The weekend is supposed to be gorgeous! So off to the lake again. I know it sounds like a broken record. My house is so neglected--the deck needs to be power washed and the swingset stained. We do need to stay home and do the hoiney-do list before the in-laws party in August. I just have a hard time doing that when we could be off playing.

I am amazed that Cammie and Tina's girls are still in school. I thought we were in late.

Better get going...the 2 yr old is tellling me that it isn't raining when it clearly is. Love those days....

Debbie is on her way back

Cammie - my experience has always been that you can take cameras to concerts, just not camcorders.......

I have a Sony cybershot now. It's fine but the zoom stinks. I want an upgrade. I have a coupon for BestBuy that expires today so that's where I'm off to.

.
Cammie - the higher the optical zoom, the better the quality of zoom pictures. Digital tends to look grainy. I have a 4x optical on my small camera, and I'm often not happy with the results if I venture past that to the digital zoom. My larger camera has a 10x optical zoom and that gives great photos.

Everyone, sorry, but I've missed what has been said. I need to go back and read. I just quickly skimmed.

It is HOT here, and HUMID and just all out :scared: outside. I've been playing with the kids a lot and trying to get my diet together. I have to do something - so I am trying to focus on getting that going this week.

So here is my only update. I'm still going in Nov. :dance3::yay::banana::cool1:

Turns out Carlos also thinks it is a really good deal - especially if I split the cost with my best friend. With my free airline ticket, and my rewards, minus the 200 deposit we already paid the trip will cost me OOP around $150, if not less. :cool1:

So girls trip in Nov. :cool2: I'll need tips Cammie & Kara. :upsidedow

Off to the grocery store. Kids are alaredy begging to play outside. The heat index is already at 98 - and it is 9 oclock in the am! :scared1:

So I knew we were all bonded together for some reason! :cool1: I'm glad to see I'm not the only 'normal' one out there. Thanks ladies!

Today on the cold-front my little one DD6 is home sick with DH today. I can't get a break. Now I hear Zicam nose swabs can cause you to loose your sense of smell - hello that's the only thing that has saved me from getting these germs and you want to take that away from me!

UsNew2Disney - I'm so excited that you're still going in November - everyone deserves a Disney vacation!

CRDisMom - like Cammie my girls' last day is the 23rd which is a half day - why bother?? Grades have already been submitted so why are they dragging this out to the end. They're not learning anything.

DD9 is very excited Friday she has award ceremony for something? (Maybe a 'sorry we failed your daughter in every way possible so here's an award to make her feel better' I don't know? Then the 22 is GRADUATION - for the 4th graders because they are moving up to Middle School (yes you heard right 5th graders in the Middle school) I'm just glad they didn't think about telling us to keep her back - hello she failed in your class but scored brillantly on her IEP testing - whatever. I'm tired of dealing with that school. All I know is tomorrow is her therapist appt and she'll be happy again.

Another post I know.

So DH and I have been looking at flights and yesterday we realized that if we fly out of Providence RI on the 26th, stay at Disney with no ticket on the 26th, we can get a full day of park ticket on the 27th and then fly home on 9/1 that it would be equal to the cost of flying out of Boston, MA on the 27th, get a 1/2 day park ticket on the 27th and then fly home on 9/1.

I'm rooting for the fly out on the 26th. What do you think?

Cammie - my experience has always been that you can take cameras to concerts, just not camcorders.......

What camera have you taken in before? Like I said, my Sony cybershot was small but they must have seen it. Can't understand why they'd have a problem with a slightly larger one.

These restrictions crack me up anyway. These days, most phones can take pix and record; just about ANY camera can record also. If you look at Youtube, there's video clips of just about ANYBODY in concert. They should leave us all alone and let us take the pix we want. For crying out loud, the money we spend on the ticket justifies being able to do that. LOL

Lorrie - I have a 3x optical zoom and yes, the pix come out crappy. This new Nikon has a 24x zoom (yes, Lauren wants to be able to count the freckles on Nick Jonas' face!)

The dentist was such a pain! I had the left side of my mouth cleaned and a deep-scaling. You should have heard the scraping noises. And the blood. Just EWWW!

I'm with you, Tina. Anything that gets me down there earlier and more full days at the parks is what I'd go for.

Providence is further away but it really is an easier airport to manage. So much less stress than Logan.

Yeah, I'm ninja-posting now.............................

Tina - these last few days of school are a joke. Tomorrow Lauren has field day so no classes. Friday, the whole 7th grade is watching Jurassic Park because it ties into their geography lessons (WTH?), so no classes again. Monday is the day that get their yearbooks and they give the kids THE WHOLE DAY to run around and get them signed. Tuesday is a full day and who knows what they're going to do. Wed, the last day, Lauren goes in for 7:30 am and is released at 10:30.

:confused3

Cammie - I would take both cameras - tuck one in your pocket. I don't foresee any problems anyway......

As for the end of year school crap. Don't know about you but FL has a minute requirement - the # of minutes they must be in school. So her last week and a half they did virtually nothing. The last day of school was from 8:30-10:30. Now how much did that cost them to go in for 2 hrs and run the busses? They could have saved a ton if they had just lengthened the school days by 30 minutes the last four full days!!!! Stupid.

We had budget cuts, so they knocked off a full 5 days from the end of school here. They didn't have as much "play time" at the end and probably learned everything they would have anyway.

I am still hurting from last Thursday.:headache: Hope you feel better quick! I'm having lunch with my dental assistant today - I'm going to ask her what the deal is.

As for the cameras - ITA. When I saw Terry Fador in Vegas, he said, "alright, take out your cameras, we know you have 'em - so go ahead and take all the flash pictures you want, videotape your favorite parts, just don't film the whole show or we'll have to take your camera away!" :rotfl2: He was really nice and down to earth:thumbsup2

Hi girls goodness I miss all of you. It has just been insane here and I am not even sure where to start. Forgive me if I miss anything here it goes.

Cammie- Where is the concert. Take the camera the only problem I can forsee is if it looks like a professional photographers camera. I would take your old one just incase and have Lauren hold onto it. I doubt they are going to take a camera away from a little girl.I have been to Bon Jovi at The Garden and at Great woods and I didn't have a problem. Good Luck and I can't wait to see the pictures. Mike said the ticket should say if you can take pictures and I think he is right.

Tina- I am always in sweats when I am not at work and since I work as an EMT there is no makeup you just can't wear it. I don't give a darn if people look at me the wrong way I am comfortable and I am the one chasing after my 2 year old all day. I would rather spend time making a project a messy one at that with Luca then worrying about if my sunglasses match my shoes outfit etc.....
Now I say take that trip and leave a few days early stay late. We love our by the pool time and I have to say that this trips Itin looks very different then last we will hit MK on our arrival day 'Ohana for dinner (our Favorite) and then back to the hotel to unpack and relax when Luca is sleeping Mike will go get a few drinks and we will play cards. Then we are going to be off the next 2 days for outlet shopping possible trip to US or Seaworld and just pool and family time. I think we are going to go orange picking too. I guess there is an organic orange grove near Disney. :yay:

Kara- So nice to see you around. When are you leaving on your trip to TN? That will be fun if you and Lorrie get to meet again. I loved Ally's pictures of golf she looks like a pro so so cute and I can't believe how big she is getting. WOW time flies.

Lorrie- What dates will you be in Disney in NOV. maybe we can make a little meet. I am thinking I am going to take a short trip with my Best Friend. I got a pin for free dining so I think I am going to have to make a trip before Christmas to see the lights.

Tammie- How are things going? Are you doing ok? I was glad to help with pain mgmt for anyone I think it is super important for people to get ahead of the pain so it is manageable. I hate taking pain meds and I will use Tylenol and Motrin where I can. I even used it after my C Section instead of the Morphine they wanted me to take. How are things with the kids? I think they are going to appreciate you more when they go I know you are going to miss them, but you will finally have time to take care of you and enjoy your own time.

Tessa- Woo Hoo on the weight loss. I am starting again slowly I need to loose about 20lbs before I can try to get PG or they wont help me. So I was thinking about starting to run again. I loved running it gave me such peace. I also think weight watchers is the way to go and I am going to go and get weighed in. I lost more weight that way.

Erin- Where are you? How is the princess? Is school out across the pond?

Lydia- Can you post your scrapbook supply website? I need to buy a gift for my friend and she wants scrapbooking supplies.

Well I am planning our trip like crazy I am coming up to my ADR date and I think I am going to try to book them online. I am also going to try for CRT this time around and I am thinking Lunch is the best value even though I would really like breakfast. Other than that it is work and just getting life together since Mike and I are always so busy.

We cannot get this stupid( I really do love her) dog to go outside to the bathroom and I am so sick of it. She is 6 months old now and I just want to be done with this part . I just want to enjoy her and not worry about her going all over the house. Any advice?

I am hoping to get here more often and say hello to my Disbuds.
