Normally, I wouldn't post something like this, but it is just too funny! While I know this isn't the case at everyone's house, it sure is familiar at ours! Hope it gives you a nice laugh like it did me....

THE NEXT SURVIVOR SERIES

Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and 3 kids
each for six weeks.

Each kid will play two sports and either take music or dance classes

There is no fast food.

Each man must take care of his 3 kids; keep his assigned house clean,
correct all homework, and complete science projects, cook, do laundry,
and pay a list of 'pretend' bills with not enough money.

In addition, each man will have to budget in money for groceries each week.

Each man must remember the birthdays of all their friends and
relatives, and send cards out on time.

Each man must also take each child to a doctor's appointment, a dentist
appointment and a haircut appointment.

He must make one unscheduled and inconvenient visit per child to the
Urgent Care.

H e must also make cookies or cupcakes for a social function.
Each man will be responsible for decorating his own assigned house,
planting flowers outside and keeping it presentable at all times.

The men will only have access to television when the kids are asleep and
all chores are done.

The men must shave their legs, wear makeup daily, adorn himself with
jewelry, wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes, keep fingernails
polished and eyebrows groomed.

During one of the six weeks, the men will have to endure severe
abdominal cramps, back aches, and have extreme, unexplained mood swings
but never once complain or slow down from other duties.

They must attend weekly school meetings, church, and find time at least
once to spend the afternoon at the park or a similar setting.

They will need to read a book and then pray with the children each
night and in the morning, feed them, dress them, brush their teeth and
comb their hair by 7:00 am.

A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will
be required to know all of the following information: each child's
birthday, height, weight, shoe size, clothes size and doctor's name.
Also the child's weight at birth, length, time of birth, and length of
labor, each child's favorite color, middle name, favorite snack,
favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear and what they
want to be when they grow up.

The kids vote them off the island based on performance. The last man
wins only if...he still has enough energy to be intimate with his
spouse at a moment's notice.

If the last man does win, he can play the game over and over and over again
for the next 18-25 years eventually earning the right to be called
Mother!

I've seen this before and just LOVE IT!!!!!!:rotfl2:

That's a good one, USNew! :goodvibes Your super planning looks fun! I like your second plan, especially if you are going to be taking Disney transportation, the buses back and forth waste half of your days. We wasted 10 hours waiting for buses over 6 days in June! Simplifying your plan will probably be easier for DS!

Also, a suggestion - if your 2nd day at AK is your DSs birthday - you can make Restaurantsaurs ressies for 8am for his big day - if the park isn't open early you can get in early for breakfast and then be already in for rope drop. Tell the CM it's his birthday, they'll make it special! You get to see "the boys" Donald, Mickey, Goofy and Pluto! We loved it!!! If they are open early for EMH, they have a CM there in a separate line with a clipboard to check you in! :thumbsup2 You can see ours in my TR from June: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1457007

Yes, I didn't realize the name. That is the one that is booked both mornings. I can't give up CM & MK our last morning I don't think. They told me to keep checking back that as time gets closer there will be openings. I guess, but I don't really see it. Then again, CM was totally booked and I lucked out and got one someone let go of, so I guess it can happen.

I bought Tour Guide Mike and am totally groovin on it! I think I am changing our days around to get in and do MK, then next day AK and a brief swing by DHS to see "Speed"; then MK that next full day, parade that night, MK leaving morning.

I'm so excited at this point I can't stand it. I hate to not spend DS b-day inside MK, but sounds like it will be so crowded it might be not worth it. SO, he's always been a big Animal fan, so AK may just be better. Who knows. At least I'm starting to feel more at peace with things.

Anyone done a 8:10 at CP when MK opens at 9? How exactly does that work. After we finish our meal are we going to be "behind"?

Yes, we've done it -- twice :thumbsup2 It's great to enter the park while people are lining up at the turnstiles, then walk up Main Street without the crowds. Love it !!! :goodvibes

Even if your ADR is for 8:10, get there by 8:00 and you'll usually be seated pretty quickly. You'll have plenty of time to eat, visit with Pooh and the gang, and still make it outside before the masses swarm the place.

DS10 says he's "too old" for Pooh-bear, but on our next trip he still wants to do CP to be in the park early.

PS -- I'm a BIG TourGuide Mike fan, too !!!

Hi Gang,
Our dog (who is treated like an equal member of the family) was diagnosed with diabetes. I had to go to the vet Thursday evening to learn how to do the shots for her. It was very intimidating. Very scary (to me at least). Yesterday I had that clutter guy coming over. Well, to make a long story short he was not an organizing consultant, he was with the organization American hoarders and he pretty much told me (in a nice way) that I need a shrink! Now I do believe that he is right and that I do have some OCD issues, which I can’t believe I never realized, but I also don’t think he also saw that I am a SAHM with no time to get to the clutter. See I always assumed OCD people were neat freaks and immaculate but I guess I have another kind. He was a nice man but he wasn’t what I was looking for. YES I do need to change my ways but NOW I am looking for someone to help me clean and organize. . Back to the drawing board. Unfortunately he did touch on some sore spots I need to address so we will see if I can try and make some changes on my own. It is true I do not get rid of anything and I do shop too much. If I bring in I must get stuff out is going to HAVE to be my new motto.
Magicfor2 (Tammie)I feel bad for all the germs and stress at your house. I am just so sick of winter! I swear my kids have new colds. I am so sick of boogers!!!!!!! Hang in there. We will definitely talk Arbonne this month.
Ahibird (keahi) Hi! It's nice to have you around again (even though you promised me pictures and then I never saw any!:rolleyes1). I don't care ifthey are old!
tttessa (tessa)Your trip is getting here........
Lovin Life ( Pam2)Where are you? I guess I will have to send you an email.
Camster0307Good luck with your finaces!!!!!! We will have to put our little XFusion bottle in our siggie next! Or maybe we can put that on a shirt or our luggage so we can find each other at the parks!:rotfl2:
Sewer Hi! Where have you been?
soontobewed07 (Jillian)How's the baby feeling?
karajebo0 (Kara)is in WDW!!! I am so jealous!
DisneyOhana (Lisa) Hi!
UsNew2Disney2008Thanks for the very funny RELATABLE joke! Your plans seem to be comong along nicely. We always manage to get into the park early at least once on our trips and I LOVE IT!!!!

Hi Gang,
I am a SAHM with no time to get to the clutter. !!

Have you ever read the Fly Lady book? I read that a while back, and a lot of stuff hit home. She said that perfectionists were really bad with clutter. THought is if you don't have time to clean it right (2 hours) you just let it sit, so you should clean in 10 minute spirts I think... You might enjoy that book. I'm right there with you though! I def. suffer from Chaos (can't have anyone over syndrome) as my house looks like a wreck!

As for the puppy. That is sad. My SIL has a diabetic dog. She is a RN in medical critical care so she does quite well with her. I think the big thing is staying on top of the meds & food. I know it isn't cheap. I had a dog with a heart condition and we spent nearly 20k in 3 years, but they are your child too, so what do you do?

Hope you have a good evening and thanks for the tip!

It's funny but you are the second person who told me about her! I am going to investigate it more.
Thanks for understanding on all counts!

Cammie & Kara what will people think if we put this in our siggie?:rotfl2:

Now I am really cracking myself up since I hardly even drink!

I'm being a basketcase tonight -- my 7 year old is at his first sleep-over. It's a birthday party for his best friend.

I think he will do OK with the sleep-over part (although I'm nervous about that too but he's my child that *will* fall asleep just about anywhere if he's tired enough) but then my DH has to pick him up tomorrow & he's never been to their house. I'm so paranoid he's going to forget to pick him up or something. They live in an area where all the places look identical -- you have to go by the numbers.

DD has a gymnastics meet tomorrow at 8:00 AM fairly far away (so basically I drive her there and stay until it's over) and DS has to be picked up at 9 AM.

I also have really no idea where I'm going tomorrow for the meet. I have the address but Mapquest is not always the best. I always get extremely freaked out when I have no clue where I'm going while driving (always afraid we will get lost, etc...). I have to reprint things from Mapquest and go steady the map.

Debbie -- I'm sorry the guy wasn't more helpful. I'm also sorry to hear about your dog.

We really enjoyed the Crystal Palace & the early ADR (as long as you aren't too late!!! :rotfl: We were late to every ADR we had on our first trip in 2005 -- it didn't matter what time we started getting ready, etc... We were even late to Cinderella's!!! The one reservation that was hard to get and we were late to it!). I'm also a TGMiker.

Hi everyone! Just a quick fly-by - I was over the mountain and through the woods today for an Arbonne event - snowy and slippery. Glad to be home safe, but tired.

Debbie, sorry to hear about your dog, sorry your clutter is still there for now - sounds like that book might be a great place to start. I found in my business that there was this "all or nothing" procrastination thing going on...if I don't have time to call 10 people I won't call any, rather than maybe calling 2. I think the clutter can be the same way.

If you ever see an ad for a "Champions Workshop" with Klemmer and Assoc, go to it!!!! I went, then went to a weekend of "Personal Mastery" - it changed my life! I still have things to work on, but I made huge strides in one weekend.

We all have our "stuff" - it's just different issues for everyone. That's what makes us so interesting! :grouphug:

I'll post more tomorrow - G'Night everyone!

Hiya all,

Debbie - sorry about the dog, and your continuing clutter!! If you get any tips on that be sure to share - sounds like a lot of us need them

And I have to stand up and be counted also - I am a TGMiker too!!!!!! Cos of the fantastic exchange rate he cost cheaper than a cheap guide book!!!!

Just a quick fly by as it is our UK Mothering Sunday here (being called Mother's day more nowadays, but I prefer the sound of Mothering Sunday....:goodvibes)

My girls "helped" daddy make scrambled eggs on toast, laid the table, then gave me cards they had made and pretty pictures they drew for me - I felt very loved.....:cloud9:. They also gave me - drum roll here........... a peaceful shower ............... where they didn't bicker, or knock at the door (our only loo is in the bathroom) . They also "tidied up" - by pushing all of their clutter to the edge of the room - they tried.....:goodvibes

Off to enjoy more "pampering" - they are going to "do" my hair for me (they are 5 and 7 - so I imagine it involves clips and hair bobbles!!)

Thanbks Becky! Glad you are visiting still. I would be so nervous too. Unfortunately our minds wonder to yucky places! If we could just stop that! Dirctions don't freak me out too much but I grew up with a Dad that forced me to figure out how to get places and then just do it on my own. I was lost many of times but now I hardly stress over it.

Yeah, that has a lot to do with it for me. I need to tell myself just do a little at a time. My biggest complaint though is while I am spending an hour cleaning one thing the kids are making a whole new mess! That's why I am going to shoot for when DD is in school I think.
I wish we all lived by each other. I would just bribe you all with food and drinks and have you come over and do it with me. I would even give you guys stuff!! Too bad, right!!!! I'll make that the CHICAGO meet!:rotfl2:

Thanks Tessa. Have a wonderful day!!!! Our day is in May.

Is it strange to log on to DIS and be dissapointed that there are only 10 new posts for me to read? I need to "back away from the computer..."

Becky, I thought I posted to you last night :goodvibes I hope the sleepover went well - it was hard for me to let mine do that for the first time, too! I think we started with right across the street or right next door... how did it go?

Hope the meet goes well today, too!

Wow Tessa! Happy Mothering Day! How sweet that your family treated you so special, and I'm sure you were beautiful when the girls were done with your hair! :lovestruc

Forgive me, but I haven't read any of the posts yet. I try to catch up later...

In the mean time if you can help me with realistic expections of a new Birthday day development, that would be great....

I've got that Birthday schedule moved from MK to AK that morning (opens at 9)
DHS that afternoon (mainly to track down Lightening)
Rest/pool
Dinner at CM at 8 pm

Two things...
I called and got a APS that someone had dropped for 9:40 for Tusker/Donald BF in AK. Is this a BAD idea since the park opens at 9? I can tell you it is a pretty crowded day, but one of the best during our stay to see AK (next day is early EMH, so you know the drill). Our "MUST" see for this park is the Safari, Lion King & Nemo. No River, No Dinosaur, No Everest.

Can I run in at 9 at opening, get in line and do the Safari and make it to Tusker House (which is right by it on the map) by 9:40 ressie? Keep in mind this is the ONLY time they had our trip for this BF. Is this just such a bad time that I should scrap it?

Second... CM for dinner or no? 8 pm sounds SO LATE! Honestly that seems cruel to do to DS. I was thinking maybe go ahead and eat if he is hungry and treat it as an amazingly expensive dessert. We'll be coming from ASmo, so it will be a treck too. I also have CM on our plan for the morning we leave for BF, so either we eat there twice, or I drop one of the two. My deprived child will also be eating at CP and Whispering Canyon during his stay. :)

I've gotten 10 more gray hairs over this birthday schedule today alone!:)

Off to stay awake and think about it all night... :lmao:

Just something to think about -- Are you on Eastern time normally? I just know for us 8 pm is really 7 pm as far as my kids are concerned. It's still a late dinner but not all that bad (depending on what you are used to! My kids are used to anywhere between 6 - 7 pm, they *might* get fed by then here at home :rotfl: . If you are used to eat at 5ish, then it might be tougher). Although I see you have CM twice, so you could drop it and be fine.

I just remember when we went we tended to have some late meals. The time difference worked OK there. The getting up in the morning was tougher because 6 AM there was 5 AM here and my kids (except 1) are SO not morning people -- neither am I but it's Disney -- I'm up and ready to go.

I can't really help you on the other issue -- it's been too long for me to remember and they've changed that all around since I went.
