Wow! This thread has been quiet. Everyone must be out and about enjoying the last days of summer.

I was on vacation last week. I didn't get around to my pedicure, but I did manage to get my house (fairly) clean. We also went to Ocean City, NJ for two days, took a trip to the NJ Aquarium, Storybook Land, and Washington DC. It was a busy week!

We were having a heat wave here in NJ, so the day we went to Storybook Land, it was 98 degrees. Storybook Land is a cute little amusement park we have here in NJ. It is geared towards toddlers. They a bunch of amusement rides, but then they also have lots of nursery rhyme attractions, like the Three Little Bears, Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill, etc. It is so nice there! It is really shady and really clean. It is my favorite place to go besides WDW and its only 35 minutes away, which is great!

I am still impatiently waiting for an AP rate for our Oct trip. I really want to upgrade to the WL. DD would love a room with bunk beds, plus it would be great to be able to take a boat to the MK and much cheaper than staying on the monorail, too!

We also stopped in AC on our way home from Ocean City. They have a new upscale mall on the boardwalk, The Pier at Caesars. There is a Gymboree there and it is open until midnight. I am so excited! I can go shopping after the kids go to bed if I want to!

Hope everyone is doing well.......check in soon!

Hiya all,
it has been quiet hasn't it.... we are all recovered from our traumas now and looking forward to getting out and about more.
London this weekend - going on Friday back late on Monday. It's only a 2 hour drive, so not too bad to get there (mind you the airport was only supposed to be 2 hours round trip - and 18 hours later.....)

We're going to the zoo, aquarium, tower of London to see the Queen's crown jewels (though dd2 who is doing history at school swears we will get our heads chopped off!!!!!) and the natural history museum to see the blue whale lifesize model and the dinosaur skelly bones (they both seem to think it will be like Night at the Museum where the exhibits come to life, so we may be in for some disappointed kids!!)

Staying at a 4/5 * hotel - the Marriott at Hyde Park - does anyone else say that little prayer before going to a nice hotel -"I hope, I hope, I really hope the kids behave themselves..." Does anyone else's kids realize we want them to behave so ask for things really LOUDLY cos they know we get embarrassed too... (WHY CAN'T I HAVE IT, OUCH YOU PULLED MY ARM TOO HARD, etc etc, )

Over here we have "loyalty" schemes with our grocery stores - do you in the States/ Australia? so we are staying 3 nights for "free" using our loyalty points - dining at Planet Hollywood (on loyalty points) and outing to the Tower and zoo (on loyalty points, museum is free) - guess what we saved our points for!!! So this should be a cheap trip - helps me with an excuse for spending heaps in Florida in April.

Hope you are all surviving your heat waves over there - our weather is NICE for a change - warm, dry, cool breeze, enough cloud not to be TOO sunny etc.... only happens once in a blue moon I reckon, so I'm typing this outside by my fish pond, listening to the tinkling waterfall and tweeting birdies (and rowing kids, but nothing can be THAT perfect!!;))

Cheers,
Tessa

Hello, I'm new to the DISboards and when I saw this I knew I found a new home! Ever since I had my daughter I worry about everything... Actually, I was a worry wart and control freak before that but my DD had made it was worse. We are about to leave in three days and I'm starting to freak out because there is so much to do and haven't made any of lists yet!!! I have no idea what I can and cannot bring on the plane with my daughter... I'M TOTALLY FREAKING OUT:scared1: !!!!! I just thought I'd vent that out right now.

Thanks for listening:flower3: .

Welcome Mamajen! I worried about what I could or couldn't bring on the plane also. On the way home my sister carried our bag for us since we had our DD's car seat and bags and we forgot to take out the spray sunscreen. They told her she had to throw it out. She did and it was fine but you always feel so bad when they yell at you.

Tessa - So glad that you have drinking water and less rain.:woohoo: Hope you have fun in London. My DD doesn't care if it is a nice hotel or the yard, she has temper tantrums all the time lately.

Pam - Great job on the weight loss and not cheating. I love the Bourne movies, too.

Keahi - My DH wants to get up close to an active volcano but I am a little scared. It would be awesome though.

Debbie - Did you go to Rainbow Falls today?

Pam - I did a double post and I am sure there is a better way to get rid of it than my way. I just went to edit and deleted the whole thing and then wrote something like "Oops, I double posted". It wouldn't let me totally get rid of it w/out typing something. Glad you liked the pics. I'll have to go on the other threads and see yours.

Maureen - Sounds like a fun vacation. We have a Storybook Land in Wisconsin Dells but I haven't been there in years. I should take my DD sometime. It was great when I was a kid.

Maureen - Storybook Land sounds fun. I need to Google it. You all have AP's? Lucky you! WL is not on the monorail? We took the boat from somewhere to MK (memory is not so great), and that was one of our favorite things about the trip. The CM's on the boat were so awesome. I think that most of them are. It sounds like you all are having a blast!

Tessa - How great just to be able to hop over to London! Lucky you, too! Your trip sounds like fun, and it's even more fun when it's such a great deal. I love the rewards! We don't get rewards like THAT at a grocery store in Texas, or at least not that I know of! :sad2: That's neat. Have fun!

I'm typing this outside by my fish pond, listening to the tinkling waterfall and tweeting birdies (and rowing kids, but nothing can be THAT perfect!!;))

Sounds lovely! :cloud9: I'd melt if I were sitting outside! My car thermometer said it was 113 F yesterday! It wasn't quite that hot - I was parked in the direct sun, but it was pretty toasy, maybe 105? A scorcher!

:welcome: MamaJen! 3 days? OMGoodness! I bet you are freaking! Just kidding. Take a big breath and start making your lists! I have lists of my lists. A little obsessive, but it's the only way I can manage. 3 days?? Lucky you!! Have a blast!!

Lisa - I've been posting almost daily on the POTD. I've taken 2 digital photog classes, and take one more Thursday night. I am enjoying it - learning so much and am hoping to become a better photographer. I just ordered Photoshop Elements, and may get into the digital scrapbooking. It seems like it is much less time consuming than the regular scrapbooking that I haven't made the time to do.:rolleyes1

A shout out to Debbie, Tammie, Keahi, Sewer, Pam, Yvette, TiDoubleGerr, Jenn...:grouphug:

Hi everyone! I don't know for sure where I've been! My DS and DDIL were here for 4 days with my DGS Mason! I had a great time with them - we had two big family dinners, and my DDIL and I did some scrapbooking for a couple of days!

Welcome Mamajen! We will be here for you!

Shout out to everyone! Glad to have you back, Sewer!

Hi Maureen! Glad you had a great trip!

Tessa! Yeah :woohoo: so glad you have water! We have some club point thingys at our grocery store, but I think if you spend about a million dollars they give you a 5 dollar voucher or something :rotfl2: Enjoy your trip!

Debbie - hope you are having a good time!

Pam2 - I did a digital scrapbook at the Disney Photopass site - loved the book! It does seem like it is missing embleshiments, though!

Pam - sounds like you are getting your diabetes under control! Congrats on the weight loss!

Keahi! I have got to get to HI one of these days!

TiDoubleGerr - I was just in Seattle on Monday and Tuesday - last minute business trip - sorry I didn't remember you were there - we might have met! Oh well, I will be there again - my DSIS lives up there.

I can't remember who asked - I had a good trip - nice to spend time with my mom and DSIS! I got to train a new gal in my business, so that was great! I did quit my day job, but I have a home business that had replaced that income, so I love setting my own hours, deciding who I work with, etc.
That company is sending me to Atlantis!

Hi Lisa, Yvette! Have a great Tuesday, everyone!
:grouphug:

Hi Everyone...Just thought I'd say hello~ I want to reply to everyone but feel as though i must take notes to do so! Yikes! there are so many fabulous freaks in here! :rotfl:
The weather here has been so crazy it is like fall instead of Summer! Seattle weather is so weird!
MIL is still coming on thursday and the house, well, lets just say I have discovered a possible ovarian cyst and have been wreathing in pain all weekend so so much for the clean house!!!!! I have an ultrasound tomorrow to really see what is going on...Let's just say 5 months of unusualness has finally been figured out!
DH hasn't been much help either :happytv: but what's new?
My DD has been a little stinker since coming home from Girl Scout camp a week ago...she suddenly is acting like a 14 year old in a 7 year olds body....threw a fit yesterday for 15 minutes because of her shoes.....they just weren't the right ones! OMG! :confused3

TiDoubleGerr: Hope you find a solution and feel better soon! I didn't raise girls, so no clue :rotfl2:

I did scrapbooking for a while and it is hard work. I would love to learn Photoshop Elements and video editing for home movies. Maybe when DD is in school if I have some time. Although I will probably be working then. I haven't had the time lately to see your pics. I'll have to go there next.

Ah thanks. I started reading your trip thread tonight. Very cute! Can't wait to finish it...just finished day 1. :surfweb: must go to bed. Plus it's my anniversary so...need to get away from computer!

Kristin - So sorry about the cysts. I had those and I know how painful they are. Actually, that is the worst pain I have ever felt. I had an emergency cesarean and no labor so I don't know that pain.
Funny story about your DD. Mine is 2.5 yrs and she has those problems all the time. She'll say "Not those shoes, Mama". If we are in the mall she goes straight for the little purses and shoes, that is if there are no toys around.

Tammie - How cool to be able to work from home. My DH gets to do that sometimes but it is overtime at home. At least I get to see him more.

Thanks for the warm welcome!! I have lists but I haven't finished anything!! Not even packing:scared1: !?!?!?! I'm going to up until 2 am and DH wants us to be at airport at 5am! No sleep for me:sad2: I'll talk to all of you later.:cool1: :woohoo: :yay:

MamaJen! Only 4 hours to go - go to bed already :thumbsup2 I had the same kind of last day. Get on vacation and don't think about what you forgot!
(except your money! See my TR :) ) Have a great time! :cloud9:

Ok, so I think I've made myself sic to my stomach  with worrying about what the test results will be. I actually called in sick to work today because I am so nauseous! Then I slept in and woke up and the dog had destroyed the house! :scared1: (he started behavior classes last night...not working yet?! :rotfl:)
MIL comes tonight! So, I guess I get to spend the day worrying because my dr appt isn't until late this evening (cuz I was gonna be working) and cleaning for the MIL.

Please, who wants to come over and help????!! :rotfl2:

Hi!
I haven't had a minute to post but I miss you guys tons!
I will be back soon to catch up!
Debbie

Thanks for keeping this thread going guys! I will be back!

Hi everyone!

Kristin - how are you?
Lisa - it is great to work from home - the self discipline is sometimes hard.

Hi Debbie - come back safe! :rotfl2:

Hi Maureen, Sewer, Pam and Pam2, Tessa, Keahi, Jenn, Yvette :grouphug: If I missed anyone, I'm sorry!

Heading to the lake for most of the week - I may pop in on Monday :wave2:

Ok, so the Dr thinks I may have endometriosis. (sp?) I'm so not thrilled. Had to work a long day today...still working:surfweb: off in 3 minutes though! They are going to wait another month and then possibly make me do some horrible laproscopy I'm totally freaked out now! This is why I haven't gotten pregnant in 3 years though I guess! It explains a lot. But still not positivie. I hate not knowing things! It's the control freak in me.

Hi ladies....I still need to totally catch up with what's going on with all of you. I actually feel guilty posting without having done so.

Here's some mindless fun though I have been up to tonight so I thought I would share.

High School Musical 2 Premeire!!!!!!!!!

I promise to be back here in full force soon! This thread means a lot to me.

Hello and thank you for the reassurance I am not insane!

I am unusually neurotic about planning a trip to Disney.

I rehearse maps, fingerprint my kids and keep those fingerprints and updated pictures on me, pack and unpack then repack! Go through every piece of information I can find EVEN THOUGH I WORKED THERE! I mean you would think all that training I took was good for something!

I couldn't find the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin and panicked! I hated the crowds, b/c I was nervous we would hit someone with our stroller! I am not a big proponent of taking valium but I think I needed it at the end of our last day at Disney! The major difference between our last trip and my previous trips is that it was our first time with our kids, and my DH first time back since he was a child. So I was playing Guest Relations big time.Paid off in that he wants to go back next year and loved it. But it took sooooo much energy to plan the trip that wouldn't be a let down! :scared:

I am planning now for next September and am already obsessing about DDP and BWV, schedule of events, and ADRs!! I know it is 13 months away I just can't sleep some nights!

Kristin, I'm so sorry you are having those kind of troubles! If they can get this cleared up, will you be able to get PG? It will all be worth it! Prayers and PD to you! I'm sure the test is worse to anticipate than just to get it over with. Some of this kind of stuff is due to our estorgen high society - with the hormones in the eggs and meat and milk. Check out
www.johnleemd.com I'm not a doctor - have just read up on this info. Anyway, I am praying for you!:flower3:
