You all have been busy!

I LOVE the cartoon, Debbie! That is so true for me, too. I start taking one dose of Airborne a day tomorrow, then next week, I will start at two doses a day. I do not want to get sick on the airplane! I get my flu shot this week, too. I just have to pray that the kiddos don't get sick. They'll have nothing to do w/the Airborne. Debbie OMG! You are three days away! Lucky you!! Are you illness free at your house yet? I am so giddy, I can't imagine how you must be! Your schedule for WDW sounds great!

We are going to all cram into my parents' van, 7 of us, w/the luggage. They are picking us up on their way to the airport. Luckily, we are only 10 mins away. Our suitcase is GYNORMOUS. I have to be careful not to stuff it more than 50 lbs. Why do they make suitcases that large if you have a 50 lb. limit?? My goal is now to totally keep up w/the laundry, so that I am not doing it the night before.

Pumpkin pie martini, Cammie? That sounds wonderful! How was it?? Your schedule looks super, too! I wanted a chocolate martini last night on our date night, but all I got to have was a beer before we got a call from my MIL that Taylor was not feeling well. I couldn't relax and have another drink until I knew that she was OK and we wouldn't have to pick her up. Well, we ended up having to pick her up. She was fine - just homesick, and not wanting to spend the night at my IL's by herself w/out Megan. Megan ended up getting invited to a sleepover at the last minute. We will have to do our date night another night in early Dec, between the two of our birthdays, when both girls will spend the night at one of our parents'.

I wish that our trips just overlapped by a day! I would love to meet you girls. I would love to meet all of you! Maybe someday!!

The American Girl Store was so crowded, and so awesome! We waited outside in line for about an hour, but the weather was so beautiful, and it was so cute to see all of the girls w/their dolls, and Taylor was so excited. Megan was also excited, but didn't let on as much. She is 14 and she is a little embarassed to still like dolls as much as she does, but I am so glad that she does. Kids grow up so fast these days, and I am so not ready for some of the things that teenagers do. We have lunch reservations there in Dec when my grandma is here, and I am so excited. 4 generations, plus my aunt and sister. We'll have a ball.

This is the schedule for our trip:
Fri - arrive at 11am, head to POP to try to check in early, show parents around resort, to DTD for lunch, back to POP to check in if we haven't yet, back to DTD/Boardwalk for nighttime view, shopping, possible monorail around and stop at GF to see Christmas decorations
Sat - CRT Breakfast, Magic Kingdom
Sun - Epcot
Mon - CP Breakfast, Magic Kingdom
Tues - Studios, H&V Fantasmic dinner package
Wed - Epcot
Thurs - AK, 8pm flight home

We do our trips pretty economically. We don't do many ADRs. We have a blast, though!! I don't feel like we skimp! I cannot wait for my parents to see it for the first time. My mom has been to Disneyland and to DTD, but that's it, and my dad has not seen anything.

Welcome, Stephanie!:cheer2:

Tammie, thanks for the HDD pics! It looks and sounds like you all had a blas there. I remember from your trip report. We've done the same ADRs on all of our trips. I think I'd like to add that one next time.

Tessa - your April trip will be here before you know it. You know that the holidays fly by. Sad, but true. Remember when you were a little kid how the time between Thanksigiving and Christmas seemed like FOREVER. Now, it's gone in a flash.

My original goal of trying to have some of the Christmas decorations up before we leave is probably not going to happen. Next weekend, we have a band competition, baby shower, Taylor's sleepover birthday party. I still hope...

The time difference really throws me off. It seems so late. I do like the fall time change better than the spring one. I like the extra hour. We've only changed a couple of our clocks. It usually takes us a couple of days to change all of them.

'Night all!!:grouphug:

Hiya

Tessa - your April trip will be here before you know it. You know that the holidays fly by. Sad, but true. Remember when you were a little kid how the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas seemed like FOREVER. Now, it's gone in a flash.

Pam2 - probably blasphemous to say it on these boards but when/what is Thanksgiving?? I know it all seems to be about eating massive amounts of pumpkin pie/ turkey etc ;), but not sure what it's all about.

And WHAT is pumpkin pie??? I hear it is SWEET!!!!yeuughh - over here you get pumpkin soup or roast pumpkin as a vegetable, but that's about it.

I haven't got EVERYTHING planned yet for our trip - DH and I will be "listing" over Xmas, but we have a LOT to fit in since we only manage every 10 years or so.... (though I want to see Harry Potter land in 2010 at universal Studios:rolleyes1, need to start saving separately so hubby can't pooh-pooh it on cost...)

This time we need to fit in:
Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, MGM or The Studios or whatever it will be called then, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Sea World and maybe a water park!!!. I persuaded Hubby to leave Kennedy space centre, Busch gardens, Gatorland, any of the beaches and the Everglades for another trip. He persuaded me to limit shopping to half a day....:sad2:

We do only have 10 days after all!!!!! But we are good at selecting the bullet points e.g. we MUST do maelstrom at Epcot if possible , so have booked the princess breakfast in Epcot Norway early one non-magic-hours day (soon after we arrive so we are still wide awake very early in the mornings) and will follow straight on... (my planning REALLY is that detailed for some things, but allows hours of "mooching about" too...).
Our last day has to include the Downtown Disney advance luggage drop for Virgin flights and LEGO shopping.

I have some serious planning to get done - don't you just LOVE that phase of the pre-trip.... I'm getting all excited just thinking about getting all the info together. They have just published the park hours and parades etc for April... Any advice from you Disney veterans will be MOST welcome....

Got to go do housework again now though.....

Bye for now
Tessa

Pam - sorry to hear about your date night. It's always something, isn't it? You'll just have to make up for lost time and have TWO chocolate martinis on your next date night!;) Glad to hear you had fun at the American Girl store - it's an adorable place. We've been to the one in NYC and had lunch also in the cafe - so cute - the dolls sit in seats with you at your table! I hope Lauren still plays with her dolls at 14. I think she will - she's 11 and still love to play American Girl and Barbies. The problem is finding friends to play with. She has one friend who loves to play but she's living in England - will be home at year's end though. In the meantime, she invites my girlfriend's younger daughter over to play. I think she's too embarassed to ask her 6th grade friends to play!

Tessa - Pumpkin pie? Yummmm! with whipped cream on top? even yummier! But, I like anything pumpkin-flavored: coffee; muffins; cake; raviolis! Any wonder I love this time of year. Still haven't perfected the pumpkin-pie martini though. Found a pumpkin liqueur whose recipe included vanilla vodka, pumpkin liqueur, heavy cream, & nutmeg - didn't taste quite right. I'll have to keep trying!:drinking1

Have a good day all! (Debbie - Are you packed yet?)
Cammie

Dawniell - You have to put your photos in a website like Photobucket, so that you have an internet link to them. Copy the IMG code. Inside of your dis reply, click on the photo icon on the tool bar that has the mountains and the sun. It opens a separate box that asks you to enter the URL of your image. Paste your IMG code. Click OK. I hope that works for you!:)

Thanks so much!!

Hi Gang!
Just a quick fly by because I babysat today and am trying to get ready!
Laundry is at least done.
I have a few iron on shirts to make and then I have to pack it all up. I am not going to iron until I get there (which will stink).
Wish me luck!

Pam2 - probably blasphemous to say it on these boards but when/what is Thanksgiving?? I know it all seems to be about eating massive amounts of pumpkin pie/ turkey etc ;), but not sure what it's all about.

Tessa - Thanksgiving is a holiday when we eat a lot of good food and reflect on what it is that we are thankful for. As for the technical stuff, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving if you are interested!

And WHAT is pumpkin pie??? I hear it is SWEET!!!!yeuughh - over here you get pumpkin soup or roast pumpkin as a vegetable, but that's about it.

I think that it is VERY yummy w/whipped cream or Cool Whip (especially the french vanilla Cool Whip!). I don't make it, but buy it, but here's a recipe: http://southernfood.about.com/od/pumpkinpies/r/bl21016d.htm

You all do a lot on your trip!, but I guess I would too, if I had to travel as far as you do!!

I would be under the table w/two martini's! I am a cheap date! Maybe that's why DH keeps me?! We don't want these girls to grow up too fast!!

Thanks so much!!

You are quite welcome! I hope that it worked! Don't be a stranger to this wonderful friendly thread that Debbie started!!

Have a great evening, all! It's dark early tonight!
Pam

Debbie! Take a deep breath! B-r-e-a-t-h-e!!! Everything will be fine!
I know us control freaks and super planners have a hard time believing it, but if we forget something, we'll still have a good time!

***Note: Don't forget the money or Tickets - that is NOT a good time**** :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You will have a wonderful time!!! Take lots of pics to share with your good DIS friends stuck at home. In the Winter. Watching Football while DH sleeps. :grouphug:

Tessa, You really have to try the pumpkin pie recipe! I can't imagine eating pumpkin like a vegetable! So funny how we are so much the same across the pond, and yet so different :rotfl2: And yes! Thanksgiving is now an excuse for overeating, and men watching football on TV (not yours - that's soccer here! :)) But we do try to stop and pray a thanksgiving prayer for our blessings. And the chance to have a family day is nice. We spend two days cooking for a dinner that is done in 20 mintutes, and then do it again on Christmas! Are you going to any fireworks parties this week?

Debbie - Relax and HAVE FUN!!:yay: I want to hear all about it when you get back. The weather is going to be gorgeous for you! :beach: We'll miss you!!::MickeyMo

Pam

Debbie - Have a fun and RELAXING (is that possible at Disney?) vacation! Look forward to hearing all about it when you get back!
Cammie

OK Ladies,
Hopefully I’ll be back for a quick “bye” tomorrow but if not have a great 10 days while I am gone. It is freezing here right now, possible snow flurries so I am ready for sunshine! It will only be in the low 70’s while we are there so I am hoping that changes and we see some 80’s. I am stressed to the point of exhaustion but I always get like this the day and morning before the flight. I should be fine once we board that plane! Wish me luck…no troubles, right!
You know I’ll be thinking of all of you! Thanks for all your well wishes and pixie dust! Love you guys!!!
Debbie

Debbie - One last goodbye and wish for lots of pixie dust on your trip! pixiedust: We will miss you!! Enjoy!! Tell Mickey I'll see him real soon! I am praying for warmer weather w/no rain for you!

Lots of hugs!
Pam

You can get signed games at DD on Nov 17th! Don't know if you'll still be there, but wanted to send you the link:
http://www.register123.com/event/profile/web/index.cfm?PKwebID=0x978894f16

Theme Park Monopoly and TOT Clue everyone - you can order signed copies by calling WDW directly by Nov 16th.

Thanks, Tammie! We'll be there then, and in DTD on that Friday, Nov 16. The dates are kind of wacky in the ad. It says Sat, Nov 16 in one place and 17 in another. It doesn't matter. I don't care if they are signed, but the games look really cute! We have the regular Disney Monopoly. You reminded me that we need to play before we leave.

:flower3: Pam

Thanks for the link Tammie. Also noticed there is a new version of the Disney DVD game, Seen It(?), out just in time for the holidays. I'll have to add these to the list. Geez - between these games and now all the DVDs that are being released - Ratatouille;HSM2;Pirates3 - most of my money will be going to the DisneyCorp. this Christmas!:santa:

Debbie - Once last bon voyage! Say hi to these guys and all others for us ::MinnieMo pluto: :smickey: :eeyore: pooh:
Have fun, fun, fun! :woohoo:  :woohoo:

Bye gang! Love ya!
If I get a chance I might be able to give you guys a shout while I am there from my Dad's computer. We will see! I'll miss this gang!

Pam and Cammie, hope you get the games you want from Santa :goodvibes We love to play Disney Scene It, too! I have a Coke Monopoly that we don't play much, so I was thinking we might like the TOT Clue! I don't think I'll go for the signed one, either if we can't be there! Disney is good at Marketing!

Bye Debbie  we'll miss you!

Where is everyone else??? Lisa, Kehai, Sewer, Maureen, Kristin, Pam2, Tessa, - sorry if I missed someone - haven't seen you in awhile????
