Debbie - Hope you're feeling better. Have a great day at Macy's.

Tessa - I used to do the tree w/all matching ornaments, too. It was beautiful. It may not be as beautiful now but it is fun. I have some of my old ornaments and DD and I made some new ones this year. I have gotten a lot of Disney ornaments over the years and my DH has soccer ornaments. Anyway, the tree has a lot of character.

Sewer and Cammie - I loved the snow we got but hated the freezing rain. There were sheets of ice everywhere. My lawn was shining for days.

My mom's biopsy didn't go so good. They wanted a few samples and aren't sure if they even got two because her lung collapsed on the second try. She was very uncomfortable yesterday. She is okay though so I am glad she got through it safely, but now she may have to do it all over again.:headache:

Hello everyone. Sorry I'ved been MIA. I don't know where this week went! My kids moved in, I've been babysitting early every morning and then extremely busy with my business - I have been so tired at night, that I just fall asleep on the couch! :goodvibes Or when I have been awake, I have been sending out Christmas cards and invitations to an open house I am having on Tuesday night. This weekend I am setting aside time to get ready for Christmas! We are celebrating with my oldest DS next weekend!

Lisa - so sorry your mom's biopsy didn't go well. I will continue to pray for her and for you. I'm sorry about Pinky. I'll bet a little of the tears were stress. Glad your daughter is doing well.

Debbie - Worked for a surgeon - know it's not fun. I am still praying for the best for you. Loved the pics! I am really wanting some of those crocs! How do they feel?

Pam2 - my prayers for your mom, too! So many biopsies - glad we can support all of you. Happy Belated Birthday!

Cammie and Pam2 - thanks so much for the pics! I am so enjoying your trip to the world! It is really fun to put faces to your names!

Tessa - you got a huge tree, huh? One time i brought a big one home by accident - we lived in a smaller house - when my DH cut the string, it SPRUNG open and shoved each of us into the corner of the entry, and we were both stuck! :lmao: I just started laughing, and he started complaining, which made me laugh more! We couldn't get it in or out! Jim had to go climb out and get a saw to take some of the bottom branches off - when we finally got it in, it took up our whole dining room - we had to move the table way up in a corner and not use it! That was our last real one - I am really glad we had that memory! Hope you enjoy your Christmas season with your girls!

Sewer! Hi! Sorry your weather has been so bad. (and Debbie, and Cammie) I saw some terrible reports from all over that area.

Hello everyone else! :wave2:

Okay, vent coming: I know I need to appreciate my time with my parents, but they are driving me nuts! This coming July will be their 50th anniversary, and last anniversary we 4 sibs gave them a card that said we would send them on an Alaskan cruise this year for their 50th! We were all really excited! Well, now it's time to book, and we can do a 7 day ocean view on Holland America or Princess, but they are talking about a 10 day and paying the difference, only my mom doesn't want to book it cuz she thinks my dad wants her to pay for it all - she has inheritance, and he "blew" his disability money. So she said she didn't know what she wanted to do. Then she asked me two days later if I had booked a cruise :confused3
She is very sweet and loving, but every time we try to do any kind of family thing - even a simple dinner - she tries to complicate it! I guess I need to get her over here this weekend - sit her down and show her on the computer what the choices are and help her understand you have to know what you want before you book!

Thanks for listening, everyone! Hope you have a great weekend!

Hiya all,

Lisa, sorry the biopsy didn't go to plan - it must be hard to have to go through that twice.

And sorry Cammie - but snow doesn't travel well - my little brother once sent a snowball to santa - nope, I don't know why either !!!!!! :confused3 The post office discreetly gave my mum a soggy parcel back and asked her to persuade him not to do it again, then they wrote him a sweet little letter from santa saying he had enough snow etc...
Don't know if they would do that nowadays, it was so nice of them...

Tammie - vent away - I (we all) know what families can be like - I think you've got the solution - just sit her down and show her....

Kids are driving me nuts - Nintendo DS fever - they seem to get really grumpy when they get Nintendo time at the minute - they go all aggressively snippy with each other, so I banned them till they can get along.... I am again the most horrid person on the planet - hey ho.....

Cheers,
Tessa

Tammie - I totally understand. Parents can be just like children sometimes. I almost think they want to go back to being kids. I think you're idea of sitting down w/her is a great idea. Hope things go well. Oh, and I think you were right about Pinky. I do miss her but I am under a lot of stress right now.

Tessa - I remember those Nintendo days. Our first gaming system was Nintendo. Me and my sisters would go crazy. I don't know how my mom put up w/us all these years.

My mom is now in the hospital since Friday. She had an x-ray done to see if her collapsed lung got any better and it got worse. They admitted her and gave her a chest tube and told her that they are going to do surgery soon because there is a 95% chance it is cancer. I am actually being positive right now since they said it wasn't in her lymph nodes and her other organs looked fine. I don't think it spread. Well, at least I am hoping and praying that it didn't. Thanks everyone for caring. I hope Debbie's results come back soon and she is okay. And Pam's mom.

Lisa - I'm sorry you, your mom and your whole family are going through this right now. I hope you all stay strong and my prayers are with you all!

Pam2 & Debbie - Same to both of you!

Tammie - Yes, our parents become more frustrating the older they get, don't they? I hope I'm never going to get that way!;) I think Tessa is right - sit her down and show her what you and your siblings want to do. It's a gift, and a very nice one, so don't give her a choice. Put it together the way you originally intended and I'm sure they'll enjoy it!

I just got in from shovelling ANOTHER six inches of snow!:scared1: And that's just on my driveway. I'm not touching the wheelchair ramp that runs along the side of my house. I'll let my ex take care of that - I'm sure he'll be calling to make that offer any minute now! Anyway, all this winter weather has me dreaming of Disney days gone by! Here are more pix to perk up our day (from this year; and some from previous years):

Cammie! :rotfl2: Thanks for the smile...I love the drink pix! You are so right!
I love the stockings pic and am saving it to my files. Hope you don't mind. You girls are a cute little trio!
About the photopass CD...I might just get the CD. Did you see my answer on that thread?

Hi Everyone....I can't stay long but I have to stop in to say HI to my very favorite bunch of gals!

Tammie.....Hang in there! Glad business is good. I'm looking forward to trying some of your products myself. As for the parents, I'm not there yet but I can imagine it's stressful because of what type of personality we have and that we want to make EVERYONE happy...
Vent ANYTIME!!!

Cammie...We have snow too but not as bad as your getting. Be careful...Harsh reality from your magical WDW trip, huh...

Lisa, Hang in there yourself too. Thank you for your thoughts and the email. I appreciate you thinking of me. I hope everything goes well with your Mom. It sound like you did get some good news along with the bad so I hope she recovers quickly!

Pam2...Hope your Mom is OK. How are you doing???

Tessa, sorry the kids are driving you nuts! Been there, going through that!!!! It's insane! You would think playing the Santa card would work more often!

Thank you to ALL of you for thinking of me...the surgeon called to say I would probably have to wait until tomorrow for results.

Lisa, sorry your mom is in the hospital. Just keep thinking positive - looks like a good report so far.

Debbie, you have a really nice doc to call you on Sunday! Keeping me fingers crossed - oh that doesn't work - still praying :goodvibes

Quick stop for now - need to go back to sleep!:thumbsup2 We are supposed to have snow this week with a break on Fri - that's when DS is driving over the mountain - hope it holds out.

Hi Everyone! I haven’t been on here since Thursday, and I missed a lot! I had dinner and shopped at American Girl w/a friend Thursday night, then we had a crazy busy weekend. Friday night was DD14’s band concert, then shopping. Saturday, we had Christmas w/my FIL’s side of the family, then dropped the kids at my parents and we went to a Christmas dinner party. It was a long drive – an hour each way!, but fun. Yesterday, I picked up the girls and visited w/my grandma, shopped some more, then made treats for the teachers and people at my office.

Debbie – Your Chicago Christmas activities/traditions sound like a lot of fun! I bet it’s beautiful right by the big tree! I’ve not had a biopsy. I hope that you found out the results were OK. That’s good that you didn’t have to wait to talk to your dr. You and Lisa have been on my mind constantly. Another reason why I think I stayed away from here this weekend. I didn’t want to hear any bad news. Please tell us that it’s good. I’m jealous about the fur-lined Crocs. That was very sweet of your mom. I have to know what color they are!

Lisa – I’ve been thinking about you, too, and your mom. I am sorry that she had to go thru that. I am praying loudly for you girls. It certainly cannot hurt!:)

My mom went in for her biopsy today. I am not sure when she will get the results. It's been weighing heavily on my mind and heart. Thank you for all of the prayers and well wishes. I love and appreciate you gals!

Tessa – I love the Christmas tree to be one full of memories. The themed ones are beautiful, but IMO, not as beautiful as the ones that remind you of family and fun times with loved ones. We get out of school and work on Dec 21 too – the girls have early release, but I am home all day! I am going to enjoy! How was your “me” time?? My girls play together very nicely, but then have their moments of bickering where it makes me crazy! DH14 is fighting between being a little girl and a (horrid – did I say that?!:scared: ) teenager. I think that hormones are going crazy right now. We’re getting thru it! I have began taking lunch and breakfast orders at night, so that I don’t have to talk to her in the AM. It’s good for a laugh at night, but we seriously need it some mornings! She and DH just don’t do mornings well, and the teenage girl thing added in! :headache: Yikes. I loved your Santa snowball story!

Cammie – I loved your latest pictures!! The drink pics crack me up! :lmao: What kind of drink has Pop Rocks in it?! Thanks for the holiday pictures! I can totally relate to the Abercrombie, Hollister, American Eagle thing. Do you all have Aeropostale? DD14 loves that one, too. Their prices are more reasonable than the other 3. I need to finish my Photopass this week.

Tammie – Your tree story was funny!! :rotfl2: I hope that your storm holds out until your son and his family safely arrive. I see my mom’s patience wearing thin w/her mom while she is here, and I know that my mom and dad will do some pretty funny stuff that DH and I just shake our heads at and cannot understand. I always say that I hope that we don’t get set in our ways like that, but I know that we will. I wonder how many people we already drive crazy?! I hope that you get the cruise thing sorted out soon! Like you need another thing to craze about this time of year!

Sewer – I wish that you, and all of you, could share some of (just a little bit, and no dangerous ice, please!) with Tessa and I!:cloud9:

Have a great day, all!

Pam2

Well, I just checked in to ask - how is everyone ???

Lisa, Debbie, I really hope things are going your way.

Love the photos pam - I'm starting to practise with my camera in all sorts of conditions (can't do full on sunshine though!! - here's hoping)
Tammie - sounds like my hubby's kind of tree!!!:rotfl2:

Anyhow - had a great day off, but got to go cook tea....
See you all ...
Tessa

I only have a second (so I haven't even read a post) but I wanted to thank all of you again for your well wishes! My results were OK and the biopsy was benign!:yay: Thanks again buddies!

Debbie - THANK GOD. I am so glad!!!!! Now - get busy shopping!!

Cammie - Thanks! I plan on it!

Tessa - What time is tea??

Debbie - Yeah! Congrats on your good news! Here's wishing the same for Lisa and Pam's moms. Still sending pixie dust their way!pixiedust:

Pam - re: my sig. - Thanks! But being the computer dunce that I am, it took me quite a while to get it right! Still think it's a little too small. Anyway, love your pix - and you're behind in the count. You need to post more!

Here's more of mine from years' past:

1 week until Christmas!:santa: :woohoo: :santa: :woohoo:

Hiya all

Debbie - glad the results were good !!! You have one thing less to worry about - now Christmas is LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY aaarrrgghhhhh

Pam2 - tea is complicated - you may wish you never asked!......
In the UK we have this class structure thing - the upper classes and upper middle classes would say lunch was eaten midday, tea was a small snack type meal around 4pm with small sandwiches, cakes and tea to drink (never coffee at this time of day!!) to be followed by dinner as the evening meal or even supper (a lighter meal) if tea was substantial.

We working classes say tea is our evening meal which we in our family choose to eat all together around 5.30 when hubby gets home from work.

However our very working class family (my dad mainly !!) had "pretensions" of grandeur and used to call the midday meal lunch and the evening meal dinner - which confuses hubby as he has dinner at lunchtime and tea at dinnertime.... if you know what I mean - so we have compromised on lunch (at lunchtime - it makes sense!!) and tea in the evening (though I do still have the tendency of calling it a "cooked tea") - and I bet you thought it was a simple question!!!:lmao:

I do keep forgetting life is different over there - and must remember to pack some teabags - or do you get proper English breakfast tea (PG, Typhoo etc) nowadays?? How about fresh pasteurised semi skimmed (2% fat) cows milk??? We only got that in one mini supermarket on International drive last time we were there - sterilised/UHT milk is just NOT the same you know!!

Cheers,
Tessa

tessa - I had a friend in college from Ireland and she HATED the tea over here. Her care packages from home were always stocked with tea! And, I would say at Disney, you're not going to get a very good selection.(they can't even give you a good cup of coffee!) So, yeah, I would say, pack some tea bags for your trip!
