Cammie, I'm skimming. I'm trying to scan pictures in and boy![]()
I did want to say I agree with you. We go through this with DS who is only 4! Really stubborn, really unappreciative. I will tell you this, it was the other end of stuff, but I remember babysitting 5 kids all under 3 at her age - to BUY SCHOOL CLOTHES!
My son expects everything! So I felt for you when I read that! I think that what you are doing is more than reasonable. I mean she had no right to give you that extra money spill when you asked for more help because Amanda was sick that day.I mean after all they get to have such a nice life and then for them to not only expect it, but to expect more. So I'm totally with you on this one - Just agree that before you give in and buy anything for her you have to realize to show her you mean business that you have to stick to what you threaten her with today. That is the part I fail on so much, but you have to. You really do.
And it is because you love her and you are a good mom that you are trying to teach her this - you are not a bad mom.

I know - but the "mom" guilt sets in! I know she wants to do what she can to help; and when she sits back and looks at her life, she knows she has it pretty good. At her age, I've come to expect the "snarky" comments; what I'm mad about is the failure to acknowledge when she's wrong about something and apologizing for it. This is a big thing with us. She'll react to something, knows it was wrong, but then just wants to forget about it and move on. And, I hate to say it, but my ex was just like that - would feel bad about doing something, but never apologize. I know Lauren knows she was wrong - and she didn't battle me; she did what I asked her; but it is the failure to make ammends that bothers me more. She's old enough to know better.
And, a little OT: I just put on capris that were very tight on me last month; today - not anymore! I'm feeling FIERCE!
And it is because you love her and you are a good mom that you are trying to teach her this - you are not a bad mom.
= me

Don't buy me a gift, just take me to Disney clears him from having to shop and makes me happy. VERY HAPPY!
I have like 50 to go! It takes FOOOOOOORRRRREVVVVVERRRR!
see how I work?
In the commercials for the movie, though, it looks like she gets stunning news on her wedding day; shows her dropping the phone. I can't wait to see it!
There's a poster on one of the TRs I subscribed to; she meets up with people she's become friendly with on the Dis - they call themselves the CIFs: Creepy Internet Friends!
