Tammie - "reward for good behavior" :rotfl2: I about fell out of my chair!!!!!

Tessa - I'm so sad for you! I really hope you get to feeling better - is it a muscle strain that's causing the pain?

Debbie - I wish I had a drum set for your "one for the road." So I could tap out ba dum bum! Yeah, it doesn't quite have the same effect when I read it back. Oh, well! :rotfl:

Renne - I told Jeff about your DH wanting to do 3 nights in Disney and spend one day with family and one at SeaWorld. He started laughing! Seriously, to fit in family and Sea World, I'm thinking..... 10 days!!! In a Deluxe! Then upgrade to annual passes while you're there so you can come back within the year and only pay for resort and food! I just love spending someone else's money! :rotfl2:

Where is Erin????

Cammie - I'm seriously bummed about Rose & Crown. I wasn't that excited about it until you said how great it was. And apparently others think so too cause it's still booked. Guess I'll just call every day! I couldn't even shuffle around the ADRs that I do have, and maybe fit in Rose & Crown for a late lunch on the day we leave. Hmmmm.... very exasperating! Now I know why I always make my ADRs at the 180 day mark!

Jillian - I so agree about the camping. Jeff is beginning to scare me now. But I guess I'll go to Disney any way I can get there (or in this case, any way I can stay there!). He found someone else who rents their trailer! He is so excited to do this. But like I told him, I'll try anything (well ALMOST anything!) once.

Laura - you still recuperating?????

I'll be helping with internet sales all week - yesterday about killed me! I was so busy! Don't they know I have photos to edit and a scrapbook to start??? :rotfl2: Then we're off Thursday afternoon to close on that d*** house!!! Finally, it's over!

TTFN!

 Oh I'm so mad! I bid on some Lelli Kelly shoes for DD5 and I lost the bid by $0.50 because I didn't watch it. :headache: Those darn commercials. Now there aren't any on there her sizes and I refuse to pay anything higher then $25 for a pair of shoes for a child. These shoes are normally $70 and I think that's outrageous!

Oh well. Hope everyone has a great day!

I won the dress - for my original bid of $15. I maxed the bidding out at $30, so I was VERY happy to win it and for the first bid too. I was the only one bidding, so I got really lucky!!!! That other dress went for almost $30 and seemed to have a lot of interest. It was fancier, but I like the true Snow White outfit best!

I've decided DH is full of poopies! :) I honestly couldn't talk to him about it. He is down on his job. Been taking a lot of nasty venting from clients, so he is thinking of moving out of his job, so he is all doom and gloom saying stupid stuff like maybe we can't go next year if he moves jobs. LISTEN, I'm thrifty as the next person, but that is my vacation, and it is going to happen if I have to finance it on a credit card or whatever. :snooty: Money is money. Life only comes around once. I'm convinced he will like it once he is there - he just doesn't know it yet.

I'm going to wait until he is in better spirits and let him make the choice of visiting family with more days, or keeping it short with no family/no anything not Disney or longer. He will NEVER go for 10 days. NEVER. 5 would be the max - men! :headache: Seriously, I don't think we have ever vacationed anywhere for longer than 4-5 nights. He is always ready to come home on the 4th day. :sad2:

Tina - so sorry about the bidding. That has happened to me before! Maybe they will come around again.

Tessa - I'm so sorry to hear about the back and that you will miss the party. Maybe you can do something fun that night to offset it???

Kara - well, do a trailer. Tell Jeff I said it is the LEAST he can do for you! :lmao: You need AIR after that day in the park to rest comfortably so you can be nice to him. You know, play them where it counts

Tammie - thanks for the help. I'm glad that rolled off a DISers radar. I was sure I'd be hearing about it by now! :rolleyes1

Off to run my volunteer airport shuttle. :cool1: I thought Cammie would get a kick out of that one! It doesn't matter. I won the dress I wanted, so for today anyway, LIFE IS GOOD! :dance3:

Renee - I know the whole doom and gloom thing. Jeff gets that way about his job from time to time, especially since he's in the car business and it's so based on the economy. But I'm lucky in that he has always been big on vacations. Hey, get the Disney Visa - they offer 6 months free financing on Disney trips!!!!!

Another one for the road...get it...for the road....:rotfl2:
WDWTripME-1.jpg

Oooh - I'll be on thas bus in 32 DAYS!!!!

Cammie- How is DD feeling?

Cammie - I suck!!! I fogot to ask how Amanda is doing!!! OMG! Is she turning around? Think it is just a cold - there is something in the air up there in MA!

Thanks guys - she's doing much better today so off to school she went. Don't know what the problem was, but I kept her home yesterday and on her vent; by the evening she was feeling much better. I was frustrated though. Lauren had gymnastics yesterday; when it was time to go, Amanda had just falling asleep for a nap - she looked so peaceful, didn't want to disturb her so Lauren missed gymnastics. It's times like that I really wish I had another parent in the house!

Hiya all,
just a quick drop by , love reading all the posts... -and thanks for the concern - the back is still troublesome....

Tessa - I feel so bad for you! Back trouble is awful!!! Best to take things slow and easy though. Don't push it. Hope you're feeling better soon!:flower3:

Cammie - I'm seriously bummed about Rose & Crown. I wasn't that excited about it until you said how great it was. And apparently others think so too cause it's still booked. Ok, so here's another suggestion: you can get CS at the fish & chips stand in UK and then sit in that patio area behind the stand along the water. If you go off hours, it's usually empty. But I would still keep calling - someone must be cancelling between now and then. I, btw, just made my ADR there for Nov.!

 Oh I'm so mad! I bid on some Lelli Kelly shoes for DD5 and I lost the bid by $0.50 because I didn't watch it. :headache: Those darn commercials. What are Lelli Kelly shoes?:confused3 I may need to go google those!

Tammie & Renee: Have you seen this - http://www.wdwinfo.com/abbreviations.htm I printed this out when I first started on The Dis - it was helpful.

Jillian - I'll be at WDW the second week of Nov. - the 8th-16th. Another thing to keep in mind: in Oct., you'll get Halloween festivities; in Nov. - the start of xmas festivities. Also it seems that they have pushed SuperSoap weekend back (from 11/8-9 to 11/15-16); although it hasn't been "officially" announced yet. From what I hear, you don't want to go anywhere near DHS during the weekend of this event - that's where it's held and it gets very crowded - people line up at 5am to get into the park to get passes for autograph sessions with the soap stars. I've planned out my week and will be getting my days at DHS out of the way mid-week.

Yeah on the dress!

I did do one more search around my house but came up with nothing. Even if I did have more dresses, I know they would be in a size 6/6x - which sounds alot bigger than what Mia would need.

And, I'm not even going to comment on hubby's thoughts about your vacation - what does he know anyway? Mothers ALWAYS know best! You've been there - you know what you need to do. Stand firm - the happiness and enjoyment of you and your children are at stake here!

Renee - I'm gonna go hit Ally's closet, too - I KNOW I have a size 4 Sleeping Beauty Dress and maybe a size 2 Minnie Mouse (although I don't remember seeing this one when we moved!), and we used to have a Jasmine size 2/3 but I think that one sold in the garage sale before we moved. I really wish I still had the Minnie - it was precious, and I made her little gloves (which I still have in my jewelry box!) to go with it! Now where could that be???? :confused3

Hi Girls...Just a quick fly by to say good morning!

DH just doesn't get it about Disney - Now tonight he is talking about a new job, and maybe us downgrading on our home :scared1: which I love. I HOPE he was just kidding. He had a bad day. Off to spend time with DH. I may be back on later tonight. Haven't been sleeping worth anything these days!
Isn't he the Economist?? You make me nervous when he's nervous!
Sorry about the sleep...it is SO importnant!

 Oh I'm so mad! I bid on some Lelli Kelly shoes for DD5 and I lost the bid by $0.50 because I didn't watch it. :headache: Those darn commercials. Bummer! I hate when that happens!!!!!

ITA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND Congrats on the dress!

Gloomy here today...I hate it when it's like that.......

Kara..you didn't say anything about my pic! Are you mad?

Oh- in thinking of planning, anyone here ate at the Poly that does the meat on a stick?? :lmao: Seriously, DH would love this place, so I'd like to get that one in. Is it Ohana that does that? I'm thinking it is.../QUOTE]

Yup that's the Ohana dinner. Tim loved it.

I'm just lurking today. I need to get the spirits up. Hope everyone is well. I'll come back later. My laundry pile is growing. I think it is going to eat Katherine. I got all of it done from WDW this is just last week. Beth goes thru 2 outlifts a day with her uniform and after school clothes. I harp and harp to hang up her after school clothes because she can wear them again. One the rare occasion she does that the clothes are so dirty you'd swear someone had been wearing them for 2 weeks. Oh well. It's a trivial thing.

I'm glad I have you guys. It can be a real pick me up. Thanks

Hey, get the Disney Visa - they offer 6 months free financing on Disney trips!!!!!
Yeah, that is the only way that I will be able to do it! He will flip when he sees how much it will take for us to stay at the Poly. Good thing is my kids need NOTHING so I thought that for Xmas I could ask for tickets from the Disney Store :confused3 I hate to be asking specifically for stuff, but I always love when people make it easy on me like that and they are going to spend the money anyway..

Oooh - I'll be on thas bus in 32 DAYS!!!!
Thanks guys - she's doing much better today so off to school she went.

Tammie & Renee: Have you seen this - http://www.wdwinfo.com/abbreviations.htm .
Glad she went to school and is feeling better! Thanks for the link and.....
:woohoo: 32 Days!!!! I honestly am so excited for you to take this trip. Not that I dont' love it when anyone is going, but you getting alone time with Lauren, well, I just think that will be so fun that you both get to hang out and do some things that you both (based on what you tell us about giving, sweetheart little Lauren) shy away from when it is the three of you. Then you can just also have fun looking forward to doing some special things with Amanda later this fall - but I think this trip will rock. Do you have a revised plan yet - you must share to let us live through you!!!!!

I did do one more search around my house but came up with nothing. !
Renee - I'm gonna go hit Ally's closet, too
You two are so sweet!!!!!! :grouphug:

staying at both in May & Oct:
Debbie - forgot you had been both early May & Oct - which is best on crowds? Which would you go for if you could do only one?

Yes, DH is the one who did his studies in Economics. Actually Masters in International Business, Finance & Econ. Undergrad was Econ. He is a Corperate Investment Banker, and he is down because a lot of swaps, etc aren't happening on the projected date and causing the CEOs of the companies he deals with to be rather ticked - Basically it is issues created by other people he works with and he structures the deals, so he gets the face time with the ticked off CEOs (also read as the a** chewing). So, don't worry. It isn't the economy that he is concerned with, but rather the tough market is making some things a little more stressful than they normally are. He has lost a LOT of hair in the last two months - and honestly I think it is the hair loss making him want to change jobs more than anything - :lmao: gotta love vanity!

Yup that's the Ohana dinner. Tim loved it.

:
Thanks - we will also have to try it - and sorry you have that clothes monster living there :scared1: I have been battling that for a couple months - all of a sudden it got way out of control. At Target they have these skinny baskets in the hamper section $6 each - call them Sorter baskets. They have stickers for Whites, Darks, Lights. I bought 4. They each hold a load. For some reason, that has really helped me tons. Just in case it helps :confused3 After all, we both seem a little alike in the planning - and even named our kids the same name... :lmao: Mia is Mia Katherine, and I almost always call her by both names.

Debbie - why would I be mad???? I LOVED the pic!

I'm actually trying to download pics onto this digital frame we bought for the inlaws (oops, not many pics of SIL's family!). Hey, she didn't want to spend the extra money. I mean, it's not like her parents spent over $2K on a vacation for her and her family!!! :headache:

Anyway, I'm having trouble figuring out this stupid frame! So I'm having to download each photo separately cause my puter won't recognize it. So I put the flash drive directly into the frame, and then I can download to the internal memory that way. What a pain! And the photo book has shipped from photopass but the CDs have not. So now I'll have to pay to ship them to SIL and MIL (actually, Jeff is going back to play in a golf tournament with his dad in a week so he can take theirs). But I'm not gonna rush to ship out SIL's copy. Heaven knows she wouldn't spend the money to ship something to us! Why do I even bother getting all worked up over this? She's not gonna change - she is a selfish, B**** and she's not worth me getting all worked up!

OK, feel better now. Gotta run and grab lunch now - later! IDOL finals tonight!

Kara - here is another threat for Jeff I thought of. DH & I both agree that when we go on vacations where we perceive that we are "slumming" it, we tend to go way overboard on the dining & activities in order to treat ourself and make ourself feel better.

Honestly, we BOTH decided that we tend to refrain from that more when we stay somewhere nice, so make a pitch that you will actually SAVE money by staying at the POP vs Camping! Now, I'm much more open to a camper, but a tent - you must not! We did that when I was younger. It still burns in my mind being put off by the bathrooms and being all sticky all the time!!! Think of the critters that could crawl in there with you!!!! Do you want all that slithering stuff that you avoid crawling into your sleeping bag??? :scared1:

Cammie...glad Amanda is better!:wizard:

Aw, thanks! Me too!:)

Laura - Sorry you're having "one of those days". Here's a  and a :flower3: for you!

Yes, I have quite a few "revised" plans - promise to fill you all in later as to what they are.

In the meantime, I'm dealing with a not-so-sweet and giving Lauren. I'm telling ya - she's in for it when she gets home. I go back & forth with this whole "allowance and chores" thing! When she was younger, I would give her a dollar or two a week to help me with chores; made her feel very grown up and responsible. Now that she's in 6th grade, I figure she could have more responsibilities and really be a help. I agreed to pay her $10 a week to do a small list of chores: make the bed, clear & clean dinner dishes, take out trash, help with laundry. Now I must admit, I really didn't stick to making sure she did all that every week; and therefore I certainly didn't give her $10 every week. But what I do do is pick up things for her all the time: cute earrings she may like; a CD I know she wants; skin for her Ipod - all with my money. So last night, I was really busy with Amanda and expected her to take care of the dinner dishes and the trash on her own. Well, boy did she get snarky - asking if she was going to get paid to do it! When I get attitude like that, I really start to feel like I'm spoiling her and ultimately not doing right by her! No, technically, she does not get her allowance every week but I purchase alot of items for her; and technically, she doesn't do the chores every week. So I explained all that and waited for her to think it over and apologize. Nothing! (she's so stubborn!) Got up this morning -- and still nothing. So now - a new day shall dawn! When she gets home, I'm giving her a list of weekly & monthly chores that MUST be done. I will still pay her $10 a week, but I will no longer buy her things that she WANTS; only the essentials that she NEEDS! She's had it really good here and I can't stand sometimes that she doesn't appreciate it. I know she's a good girl but she has to learn to realize when she's wrong about something. I gave her two chances to think it over and apologize and she didn't, so now she gets to see how good she DID have it!:stir:

Hopefully I can stick to the plan myself and fight the urge to make those little purchases!

Cammie - I totally agree with you on the whole allowance thing. I've been the same way with Ally and she's beginning to act "spoiled." So the punishments lately for not doing things that she is expected to do have become much more frequent, and unfortunatley, more severe. It took me a long time to realize that I'm not "depriving" her if I tell her "no." And like you, I love making the little purchases, actually more than an actual allowance. But once I feel that she is no longer appreciative, and instead comes to expect it, then it's time to change my ways. Good luck with your new system! And very glad that Amanda just was a bit out of sorts and nothing serious!

Finally got this stupid frame to download, and then I get a message that it couldn't save and all transferred photos were lost! AARRGGHH!!!!! Got to try again!

Thanks - good to hear another mom on my side and that I'm not over-reacting!

And, I meant to mention, I too got a digital frame ....... for Christmas! Still haven't done anything with it and now listening to you're troubles, I'm afraid too!

Cammie - what are your dates in November? DH is planning to have his golf buddies down for a weekend and Ally and I will head to (where else??) Disney that weekend. I'd love to plan it while you're there and we can meet up in (where else??) Epcot and share a citron slush!!!!! Seriously!

We arrive on Sat. Nov.8th and stay until Sunday, Nov.16th. That would be so awesome to meet! Ummm......and we would be sharing more that just A citron slushie! :rolleyes1

Cammie, I'm skimming. I'm trying to scan pictures in and boy :headache:

I did want to say I agree with you. We go through this with DS who is only 4! Really stubborn, really unappreciative. I will tell you this, it was the other end of stuff, but I remember babysitting 5 kids all under 3 at her age - to BUY SCHOOL CLOTHES!

My son expects everything! So I felt for you when I read that! I think that what you are doing is more than reasonable. I mean she had no right to give you that extra money spill when you asked for more help because Amanda was sick that day. :headache: I mean after all they get to have such a nice life and then for them to not only expect it, but to expect more. So I'm totally with you on this one - Just agree that before you give in and buy anything for her you have to realize to show her you mean business that you have to stick to what you threaten her with today. That is the part I fail on so much, but you have to. You really do. And it is because you love her and you are a good mom that you are trying to teach her this - you are not a bad mom. :grouphug:
