You know that means I have to WAIT almost a year and a half right?

I believe that it gives you more time to be excited about it. For us, that's a big part of the trip, the planning period! A year and a half is a long time, but we start planning ours as soon as we get back, and we've been going every 2 years! We talk about our next WDW non-stop!

Unfortunately, my weather ticker is right. We are almost in the 90's already. Yuck.

The bug man is gone! Yea! He was here for 2 1/2 hrs!!!!!

My painter was here and I booked the job - less than 1/2 what the first guy quoted me! And I liked this guy better! AND his quote included the paint!!!!

Only 1/2 hour left to work!

I can get my painting done AND get the tile work done (extend the tile from the foyer into the family room and down the hall) all for what the first painter quoted me!!!!

I'm very happy now!

Kara - I envy what you get done! You're letting someone else paint? I missed that somewhere in my hundreds of pages of reading the weekend posts! We outsource everything because we can't do it ourselves. I can't do it, and DH tries to be so much of a perfectionist that it takes him twice as long as it should, or longer! We live with the bugs! Just kidding! We exterminate once in awhile, not regularly. DD10 cries like a baby when there's a fly or mosquito, but she stands w/the door open, talking to her friends!

OK, now I need to find a LV board/thread. Impossible, because I can't even keep up w/this one!

We usually do most work ourselves around the house. We have put up chair rail, crown molding, even tiled our screened porch on our first house. But we're to the point where we seem to get all our projects 90% complete and then never finish the last 10%. So our house is always done half***ed. Well 90%! But we're in a brand new house and I don't want to go through all that anymore. I do most of the painting myself, but we have a 2 story family room with a staircase that is open to the room and there's no way we could do that with scaffolding and stuff. So better to leave that to the pros.

Plus, DH is working longer hours now, and having a 7 year old who always wants to go go go, makes it hard to get anything done. Most of our big projects were pre-child days!

As for the bugs..... we've never had a company do it professionally but I listened to everyone down here tell me it is a MUST do! And since I've killed 3 black widows and a scorpion since moving in last November, I'm all for it!

I won't get a complex. Everyone's left. I better get back to work. I am giving platelets tonight on my way home. I try to every once in awhile, but those people bug me! They call me constantly. I won't get home until after 8pm, and I need to leave early because the last appt is 6pm! My mom took over 30 units of blood when she was in the hospital in January. I just keep telling myself that. The family is going to the Y w/out me...We are becoming a bunch of physical fitness nuts. Good thing. I had strawberry shortcake 3 nights in a row this weekend. Thank God it's gone! Have a great afternoon, all!

See, I started this, then saw that Kara posted. These darn people keep interupting me! I am at work though...

If I started a project, we would be in upheaval at our house for weeks. Also, having such a small place, we don't have room to move furniture to other places for long! Every sq inch gets used! Oh well.

For DD10's sake, I'd like to have the bug people come out twice a year, but we just don't. She freaks, and it's I don't like them either, though. I would die if I saw a scorpion!

Oh, one more question. Are we doing wrong by looking to stay on the monorail? Should we look at a villa with a rental car instead? I'm thinking the price might be close...

Hi girlies! My head is spinning, and no, I am not drinking at work! I absolutley cannot keep up this pace, so I won't even try! This thread is going to blow up the Dis! I cannot remember who said what! I'll be the first to admit that early Alzheimers is setting in, but this is crazy!
I vote for October! I love WDW in the "cooler" weather. My fave trip was the year of 9/11. The parks were empty in October. I can't give a fair opinion on crowds for that time for that reason, but we loved the weather!
I have a ticker! I have a ticker!! I just booked a Las Vegas trip for DH and I. I found that I had enough AA miles for one free ticket, so I went ahead. We go Jul 1-4. I love having a trip to look forward to! I do feel a little guilty that it is w/out the kids, so I will need to get on to booking something w/them right away. We will do Houston and Galveston this summer, before it gets too hot, maybe in June. I better get on it!
DD10 was sick over the weekend, then home from school yesterday, to dr, and is being treated for strep. She's back at school today, full of meds. She's in 4th grade, misses a day, and I feel has a week's worth of homework to make up. I hate to have them miss school for that reason, but have taken them out a few times for our WDW trip, the day before Thanksgiving Break. I figured they would not miss a lot then. We used to have a Fall Break in October, but don't any more. I keep hearing horror stories about missing school in high school, and DD14 will be there next year. YIKES. Makes me feel old!I need to update my siggie!!!

! Glad you are still hanging with us. It's not easy. This thread zips all over the place. I can't keep up myself. I feel so guity when I think I missed something and sometimes I get a complex when someone doesn't answer me or my post (cause I am crazy).

Yes, girls come back to me tomorrow - ! They fly home tonite; DD already texted me - flight has been delayed for over an hour now!

DD found the perfume the day of their flight. She called me before they got to the airport on Sat. - she was so happy to smell like me! She also tells me, "You know you're not getting this bottle back, right?" She's so cute!

So I made my ressies at the GF spa - two spa pedicures! For 55 minutes, someone will be rubbing our feet! We're going on the day we check out - 9am appt. Then we'll either hop over to MK or Epcot. We won't have to leave for airport until around 4pm, so we'll still get a good amount of hours in. I think DD will love it! (I may be creating a monster though!)

Debbie, ok let me get this straight. If you stay at a monorail resort, you can ride the monorail to MK, right? And if you transfer at TTC you can ride on to Epcot, right? But you still have to take bus to DHS and AK!!! If you stay on the Boardwalk, you can walk to Epcot, THEN hop monorail to MK if you want, take a boat to DHS, so that only leaves one park to ride the bus - AK. We win on the boardwalk, Cammie!

And yes, I love Kari's thread "Just for Grins." She's so creative!!!!

I'm glad she was excited - and I'm also glad you got the pedis! I think that will be great! What was the name of those flops you recommend? Teva or something like that? I need to find some for the summer. I know you will be so excited to get your girls back!

Debbie - I think I keep going back to the monorail being so accessable. I think that is where we will end up this trip. If I don't make it super ideal, DH would never go back. I enjoyed ASmo, but DH would never be happy with all that busing. He would veto me on that trip every time. I just set it up, and tell him when to show up. I even pack for him too. Saves lots of headaches.

Oh DD's already hooked on the whole "getting my nails done" thing. But right now, she's content with going to the little shop in town: $10 for a mani; $20 for a pedi; both are done in 40 minutes. A "spa" pedicure - there's no turning back from that!

And, my thoughts on BW over Monorail resorts: I look at where I'm ending most of my days. Yes, it's nice to be at a monorail resort and hop on over to MK during the day, but are you ending your day there? We end most of our nights at Epcot - LOOOOOVE just walking out IG while the rest of the massive crowds are heading to the monorail and buses! And, as Kara pointed out, at a monorail resort, you're close to MK and somewhat Epcot, but everything else is far to get to, IMO.
