OK, I've decided on paint!!!! That's a huge step - now if I can just get a painter out here late this week or early next week I'll be thrilled! It's a taupy/tan/beige. Not too dark (which will appeal to DH) but definitely makes the white trim "pop" because it has more color than the yellowish/cream we have now. Ahhh, I can relax now. But I think I'm gonna paint the foyer today just to make sure I like it.

Got the bug guy coming tomorrow. I had no idea how important it is to have an annual extermination here. The gal on the phone just laughed at me when I told her that. They have bugs here they don't even have names for! Just names like Holy $%*&! And What The #*&%! At least that's what I call them! :rotfl2:

Stop bragging Martha! (That was funny Renee)
Ok brag about the bugs!:rotfl2:

Have fun!

OK, I posted my weight loss ticker and now my whole siggie is messed up. I may hold off on the weight ticker until after our trip in May.
Yeah you guys are stretching our thread out!

Again Kara........

Skeeter? What skeeters? I ain't seen no skeeters yet.... all I've seen are these ginormous things that could suck a gallon of blood at a time! They are the "You've Got to be $%*&#$* Kidding Me!" bugs!!! :rotfl2:

I don't know if I am up for that. Japanese Bettles gross me out, we have lots of those, spiders, and mosquitos, that and lady bugs. Well, lightening bugs too but that is it!

The first time we went to Orlando, I turned the bathroom light on every night. DH had me terrified that a little gator or some type of reptile would crawl out of the plumbing. :rotfl2:

:lmao: Nah, no gators, but when I paint and take off the outlet covers, I jump back because there's usually a dead (or sometimes alive!) huge spider that falls out!

okay girls. Help me out again.

You all know my kiddie crap problem. Our subdivision has advertised a yard sale next weekend for the neighborhood. Generally, it gets packed here. SO... should I

Option 1: put all these clothes in totes based on size and see what I can sell for $1 a piece, and try to unload the mounds of toys too.

Option 2: skip the yard sale, go to the post office, get pre-postage boxes, and stick it on ebay. I checked it out last night and it appears that people who sell in lots generally get $0.50-1.00 per piece this way.

Option 3: do option 1, then do option 2 or take it to the consignment store where they give you 30% of what they will sell it for - so about 75 cents/piece and they are VERY PICKY about what they take.

I have a whole garage side full of clothes. We can only fit one car in!!! I also have closets full and several boxes in the attic (maybe 10-15).

I want to declutter. I want to stop this. DS can't play outside because we can't get to any of his toys because of all the stupid boxes of crap in the garage!

HEEEEEELP!

Renee - I'd do the yard sale since it's coming up anyway, then ebay anything that doesn't sell. Is it more about getting rid of it? Or making money?

Hey, check this out. www.calorie-count.com. I had forgotten this site. I used to use it to track my food and activities. I just burned 90 calories painting!!!!

Kara - it would be nice to get a little out of things, but it doesn't have to be much. I think right now I just am overwhelmed by the amount of stuff. :headache: I'm an idiot. You wouldn't believe how much of this stuff is still sitting on my credit card. So anything I get back could pay it down. That said, I don't expect to no where near recoup what I have lost.

It is just so massive! The story is that when I had DS I had post partum really bad. I was too proud to do anything about it, so I shopped endlessly. Seriously, if you had a regular truck, there is at LEAST 5-6 loads. It is a LOT of stuff.

Whoa!!! I would definitely try to unload as much as possible at the yard sale. Because what I discovered when doing ebay was that it is really easy to get overwhelmed with bids, and sales. I only sold 6 or 7 items and I was so afraid that I was gonna forget to ship something. Then one item the girl claims she didn't get but when I track it it shows delivered! That makes me sooo mad, just another headache I don't need!

SO...

How many toys do you guys have? We have a play room that is devoted to toys. Right now you can barely walk up here. I'm aobut to weed them out AGAIN, but every time i do I feel like DS doesn't have "enough".

Right now, he has All (and I do mean all) the planet hero gear, the castle and pirate ship by Fisher Price, All the die cast Cars, the ninja turtles and their bus and an imaginext train that he plays with. I think that he is overwhelmed too. How could he not be?

Is there a good round about number that encourages play but not overwhelming?

Hey guys!

Renee- re: selling old things. I agree with Kara; you got the yard sale coming up anyway - why not see what you can get rid of?

Re: - Disney trip. I didn't mean to imply to NEVER take DS out of school for the trip - I'm a HUGE advocate of pulling my kids out of school to vacation at a better time. I was just questioning doing it so close to the start of the school year. I would pull them out as much as I could while they're young; it gets much harder the older they get. I'm pulling mine out again in Nov. and DD will be in 7th grade - will do it again in 8th gr. But once high school starts, who knows?:confused3 I'm lucky she's an honor student and anal like me - so she's very good about making up her work. We'll see.

Debbie - Have you ever called Disney and asked if there was a "code" attached to your name? Or your mom's? I've heard people do this all the time - or they get a postcard with a code; as long as you're in the Disney "system" - meaning you've gone once or shopped at one of their sites. They just randomly assign discount codes. I've never asked because I always book using DVC pts. But this family I know at my DD's gymnastics class went to Disney for the first time last year. They got a postcard with a discount code in the mail two months ago - they're going again in Oct. - with 40% of the room rate at GF!

Well, my finished basement has been taken over by Barbie and her gang; one of the spare bedrooms upstairs has been renamed the "American Girls" bedroom! :rotfl2:

Cammie - I tried calling awhile back to see if there was a code attached to our name, but there was not. I've heard that some CMs won't even check though. :confused3

Renee - DD has always had her bedroom and a playroom - can you say spoiled???? Now she has what they call "flex space" down here. It's like a big semi open room between the bedrooms. It is so full of junk! And everytime I see stupid stuff like McD's toys or whatnot, I just throw them out. Also, all the Barbie clothes and shoes. They get tossed too when I see them laying around. Partly because she just won't even miss it, and partly as a "lesson" for leaving her stuff out. I'm getting pretty nasty about that. I told her she's got until school is out to learn to pick up after herself or anything I find becomes mine! I'm going to put it in a box and hide it! Yeah, mean Mommy!

That's ridiculous! Why wouldn't they? I would just hang up and keep calling until I got someone to check for me. On the resorts board, there's a sub-forum for discount codes, people tell stories all the time about how they called and found out they had a code attached to their name.
