Hey guys!

Kara - What time are you heading out today? How's the weather looking? Hope you and Jeff have a very romantic time. Oh, and have a Grey Goose slushie for me!

So I just got up a little while ago. Took a clonazapem and went back to bed after the girls went off to school. I did not get much sleep last night - was tossing and turning all night long. Lauren had a very upsetting phone call with her dad which left her in tears and left me to pick up the pieces. I swear, I'm constantly amazed at the new levels of arrogance and stupidity that man reaches!:furious:

The problem this time? His new wife's nephew is making his bar mitzvah in Oct. They live in Baltimore and Lauren has met them a total of three times. I was informed by my ex, that even though it is his weekend with the girls, he was NOT taking Amanda because they have a schedule to keep that weekend and it would just be too hard to have her around. Nice, huh? But of course, they WANT Lauren to go. Lauren has informed her dad she has no desire to go: she's not Jewish and doesn't know these people, and quite frankly, doesn't care. He left the decision up to her and said, fine - you don't have to go. Well, last night he calls and (I think at the urging of his wife) expressed to Lauren how disappointed he was in her for not going; and that his wife and her family is very disappointed in her too!:furious: Then he says the kicker: lectures her on how sometimes "we" have to do things we don't necessarily want to but do it because it's the right thing to do!!! Ok - so here's where my head exploded!!! This man has spent the past six years of his life doing ONLY the things he wants to do, with NO regard as to whether it was right or wrong! And his daughters have been witness to it!

After taking 10 minutes to calm Lauren down, I attempted to call the jack*** and tell him off. He didn't answer his phone; and I know he knows I was calling - that freaking phone is attached to him 24/7. I tried three times over the course of 30 minutes and just gave up. It's probably best he didn't answer because we would have gotten into a HUGE fight which would not have accomplished a thing. If he was forcing her to go, I would fight with him to the bitter end, but I can't fight the way he thinks. The man lives in a world where everyone caters to him and thinks he's a great guy. He resents anybody who gives him a hard time about anything or when he doesn't get his way. So I'm thinking of just leaving this alone. I'm so mad he makes Lauren feel bad for the way she feels about things; but I don't think he's ever going to see the light regarding this manner. He wants us all to just forget his actions of the past and still give him the respect and consideration as if nothing had ever happened. Do you think it's the right thing to do? Like I said, he's not forcing her to go - and I'm proud of her for being honest about not wanting to. I guess I feel my role here is to just support her decisions and validate her feelings. Confronting him about this is just going to make him defensive and angry - which will then lead to tension I really don't want to deal with. Am I right? Seriously, if you guys think I'm being a wimp about it, let me know. I don't want to let Lauren down.

Thanks for listening!
I haven't read what anyone else has said yet Cammie - but SERIOUSLY if Lauren tells him how DISAPPOINTED she is that he is not taking Amanda because it will make things HARD on him, that man deserves it! WTH? He has to be the biggest, most idiotic jack@ss I have EVER heard of! WTH? Seriously. And as for that wife of his - pardon me but who gives a flying f what she or her family think? Tell him that maybe people are disappointed in him and his wifey for having the affair - but he doesn't seem to give two thoughts to that does he?

Seriously, where does he get off telling her he is disappointed? You seriously need to talk to HER about that and tell her she doesn't have to feel bad one bit. She doesn't need to be dragging around guilt from not wanting to go - he gave her a choice. He needs to suck it up and quit playing games with Lauren.

And a big swift kick in the ....

This is the last of the catching up! I'm finally done! :cool1: [

Cammie - decided today I've turned into an evil shrew. I have been changing "juicy" diapers today. I have thought of a certain butt face who could use 2-3 stashed in under his driver seat on a nice day. :rolleyes1
Now Lauren is worried to go with him this weekend because she's afraid they'll gang up on her about it again. What can I do though? I just told her to stick to her guns - she has nothing to feel guilty about.:
Make sure you really drive that home to her. She seriously has NOTHING to feel bad about and that rear wipe of an ex you have should be hung by his toes for making her feel that way! Poor Amanda - give me a flipping break. I don't get that. If you want people to meet your family - then WTH?

Then again, it makes perfect sense now. He only wants things that are easy and suits him. I guess now I understand. :headache:

We leave for our vacation in 8 days! :woohoo: We're not doing a cruise as originally planned, but we're going to Puerto Vallarta Mexico at an all inclusive resort on the beach! We're getting really excited - I am so ready for a break, and Jim really needs a vacation! It will be great to spend time with Ryan and Dana and little Mason, who are coming with us. I need to start packing this weekend. ?
That sounds like a great trip! I'm so happy for you!

I've been getting text updates from Kara..........

She says the weather is fine - sunny, but not too hot. She's at AK today and there's hardly anyone there; have only had 10 minute waits for the popular rides.

(I get so excited when I get a text from her; feel like I'm there myself!:goodvibes )
So what makes you the exclusive happy place update receiver. HUMMMMM? :rotfl2: Seriously, I know it is the Unlimited Texting - just yanking your chain!

i'm glad to hear she is thinking of. Can you imagine Jeff's face when she is sending them? :lmao:
Yep :sad2:

I'm so jealous I could spit.:worship:

So I'm finishing up the dance skirts tonight and then I'm going to start on the 'scales' of DD9's halloween costume. I've got to hurry up becaue tomorrow I'm going with my friend to get fabric for her cushions. Sounds like I'm making 12 of them - 30 inches each in length. It will be fun - I keep telling myself!!:
ME TOO!

We might have to call you Martha 2! :lmao:

add me to the club of those who are jealious of Kara and Debbie. just watched the travel channels Disney's Best Kept Secrets. Oh now I want a DVC. Okay I just want to have a trip to plan lets be honest.
:rotfl2:

Holy crap! I got my Tupperware order already!:thumbsup2
Me too! :cool1:

okay starting to feel bad. We had pushed back the idea of taking a trip for the 10th anniversary for a pool then that took a backseat when Tim got hurt. I feel like I need to plan something besides going out to dinner. I was going to have our wedding blessed in the catholic church but that's out the window too because Tim got hurt. It is amazing all that this stupid back injury has pushed back. (Oh BTW I am going thru the conversion classes. haven't decided if I will finalize or not- that will come to me) I am just at a loss. Last year we went to a spa together. I just don't want to spend a lot of $. I have been giving to a lot of other people but I need to take time for Tim and me. I have a month to pull something together.

Youu guys are awesome for letting me vent
You do need to take time together. I hope that you can figure something out! :sad1:

I'm debating conversion classes. Carlos is Catholic. We need to start getting serious about getting the kids in some type of "program".

I can appreciate that debate. We ended up with the Catholic thing because they had a private school. I'm lutheran. I figured it might be good to understand exactly what Beth is learning.

The school thing is because our public school comes up at the bottom of the No Child list. Beth needs a little more attention than they can provide. They have 75% low income, a high % english as a second lang. and a high % of special needs. Just too much for me to deal with. The teachers are probably awesome but it is the parents that I was more concerned about.

Off to work. Then to lake for one last "nice" summer weekend.

That's venting. You are too sweet:cutie: . Vent anytime Really!

When we want to spend some private peaceful time together we priceline a hotel nearby within a half hour or so. Usually we can get something in the 3 star catagory for about 40 dollars. It is really nice to go out have dinner and spend time together and not be very far away "just in case"

That is a pretty cool idea - never thought about that!

Off to bed - I'm still recovering from the yard work this week - and on schedule for tomorrow? The GARAGE.... wooooo! What a fun day that will be! :rotfl2:

I'm here for a few minutes. We're watching Pearl Harbor now that the girls are in bed. Boy they gave us a hard time going to bed tonight, crying and whining!

Bought the foam and muslin for the cushions today with my friend. We're going to custom order the fabric so I have somem time to cover the cushions. I still have to work on DD's Halloween costume. Man there aren't enough hours in the day!

For all of you who are working on their fall clean up, send me some umph to get my yard done.

Good night ladies.

Hiya all,

you all sound like busy little bees.....

I have one of those end of summer colds you get from working with kids!!! Every year!! 3 weeks into term... hey ho, I'll live....

Cammie - sounds like you are really lucky to have got away from your relationship with that nasty piece of work. I cannot imagine what it must feel like both for you and both your girls to know he is such a PITA - how can he want his family there, then not want both girls, just how.... well , he does seem to just want the "easy" stuff doesn't he - but "family" comes as a complete package - Lauren sounds a very sensible clued-in girl.

Tessa

just stopping by as I am on my way to the lake. Tina you are very ambitious. beth wants me to make a mermaid costume for her. That's still in the discussion phase. Good luck with the cushions.

Renee rest up don't kill yourself doing everything. ha! I know exactly where you are coming from. I would love to see my garage floor again.

bye!

We used to do the same thing when our boys were small.

You are always so busy sewing. What costume are you making?

Tessa, it's hard not to catch something from those little ones, isn't it? Get your rest and take care of yourself!

That's too bad about your public schools. I'm surprised - when I moved out here from Hastings as a kid, I was ahead of the kids here. It must be hard to weigh out your beliefs with the education you want your children to have. Do they have alot of religious instruction there?

This is my weekend to pack for my trip. I have :laundy: up the ying yang, too! I really need to get some housework done and pack.

Then, I have customers to call, a meeting with a fellow church worker - we are part of a bus ministry - we pick up kids for church from a poor part of town. We are moving from Wed. night to Sat. night and revamping the program for them - it's proving difficult to get going again since our Summer break. I have taken on a leadership role there, so it's interesting.

I am doing another spa party tomorrow, so I need to get things ready for that - guess I'd better not stay in bed too long on the DIS :goodvibes

Have a great Saturday, everyone! Cammie, let us know how our girls are doing!

Okay, a little planning freak vent here: I'm trying to plan our March trip in case I need to make ADRs before I leave. I have TGM, but I'm really disappointed - I feel it has made the planning almost impossible for me. reasons:
1.
the park times are out, but TGM doesn't have the March days up yet. The advice on their boards is to use last years dates :confused3 Last year our dates were during Spring Break and Easter. This year it is not Spring Break for most of the country - which is nice, cuz it is for us.

2. TGMs suggestion is to pick your dinners and then plan your park days around those - the only thing is, it seems like the meals I have planned don't work with the afternoons he suggests - along with breaks and other activities.

3. I was planning to do a resort hopper meal plan, but I have had alot of advice that the resorts don't have the best food, so maybe we'll just look at a few - maybe have a drink or something.

4. Jim really wants to see a Braves game while we're there, and the Spring training schedule isn't out yet.

5. I really want to do the P&P party - that schedule isn't out yet.

I really think I will just scrap the plan I have so far, and plan my park days and then see which ADRs will fit. Since we'll have a car, we shouldn't waste as much time on the bus, so it should be okay. I can always use his touring plans for our time in the parks.

It shouldn't be this stressful!

Okay breathe this happened to me. I looked at the passporter schedule and that helped alot! March is busy no matter what. We have been there 2 years in a row and busy, but the weather is great.

Book what you REALLY want now and then when you get back you can futz around that. I really do like TGM when the planner comes out it really does work and I like the sample guides!

Well Kara and Jeff have left WDW; think the post-vacation depression is starting to set in..........:sad1:

She did meet up with Debbie last night. All went well, of course!

She said she also has ALOT of food porn. We be back on tomorrow posting!

I'll be back in a little while; I'm on a roll here at the house - getting alot done. Promise to read back what I've missed. Anyone around tonite?

Tammie - I can totally see where that would be frustrating. Try not to get too upset now, for you have a beatiful Mexican Beach waiting for you! :goodvibes I think TGM does give good advice - and it is sad they don't have that info up yet for you. I thought 6 mo out was standard for that? I think that March will be busIER than most times, but you know - I think sometimes that is all relative. You know? I am certain it will be fine and you will be able to make some amazing plans - what are your favorites for this trip?

Kara update- Guess who texted me with a temptation :rolleyes1 Only 5 minute stroll from YC to IG. :rolleyes1 :sad2: SO NOW, I'm back to debating it in my head... POLY or BW, BW or POLY. :sad2: Anyone want to pick for me and just tell me to shut up already? :confused3

Garage - clean. What a dirty PITA. Remember the flies that caused the trash cans to get kicked out this summer? Well I found literally 1000 family members in my window seals. :scared: VERY GROSS! I de-spidered, and I HATE HATE HATE spiders. All nice and clean except for I need to put stuff in organization bins. :lmao:

Have you guys heard what a nut house it is here? We have a gas shortage. Over 85% of the gas stations are out, and if you find it you wait on averge an hour or two for gas - most limiting you to 10 gallons. (Luckily, I got my tank filled up). Should be over in 4 days, but it is crazy. People cursing like crazy trying to cut line, police there - very interesting stuff!

I think Mr. C & I are going to our fav steakhouse tonight. I am ordering me a cocktail - or two :goodvibes and relaxing. He's been at work all day and wants to say he's "worked" today too. Sorry, but not the same. :snooty:

Hope everyone is having a good day today! :flower3:

Yay Kara will have pictures posted soon, :cheer2: , but boo that she had to leave!

Not to brag, but no diet changes implemented this week - but with all the manual labor I'm down 5 lbs. :cool1:

Cammie - I got the prevention magazine that focused a teaser on the Flat Belly diet plan coming out. I don't know if you got it. No, there aren't crunches, but several other stand up ab targeting exercises and intervalish walking schedules. Plus focus on fibers, nuts, cut out your HIGHEST calorie indulgence - etc.

So I'm not going to talk about diet right now as I eat a candy bar and drink a mud slide. We've got friends over and I'm having a good time.

Magic - I'm making a Queen Narissa costume for DD9.
1566850-1.jpg
I'm not sure I'm going to get to it because I have to start my cushion project for a friend's dance studio waiting area. 12 cushions, all custom made. Crazy.

USNew2Disney - that gas thing is crazy. It sounds like the gas shortages in 1970s. Crazy world. Congrats on the cleanup in the Garage. I've just made a deal with the family that they girls have to clean up the playroom and I'll clean the cellar. This way I can move the playroom downstairs and then move DD6 out of DD9's room and move into her own room. Hopefully we can get it done before christmas.

oka didn't really read anything anyone posted....sorry. Tim in in the hospital. I met him at the lake on Sat and he was lying in bed , in severe pain. It took all day to convince him to let me take him in. So around 5:30 we start the drive back. It normal is and hour and half but it took us over 2 1/4 hours because he wanted me to go slow so the bumps won't hurt. We get to the ER. I ask for somehelp (now I didn't tell thim he couldn't walk-why I don't know I think I had started to lose my mind) so the come out with wheel chair I explain no he cannot bear weight on one leg and the pain is an 11 on a scale of 10. so out comes a gurney. Ha we got into room right away. DR comes in 2 hrs later. Gives hime some percacet and a muscle relaxant. Falls asleep. Writes scrips for Oxycotin and muscle relaxer. He gets up to leave and nearly collapse, his body went into full shakes. Got him back in to bed. He shook for nearly 5 min. He said it was because of the pain. The funny thing is that the prone position is the only one that was allowing him to get comfortable. The ER docs shoots more meds and moved him upstairs. They move him into a new bed, the shakes come back more meds they go away. He slept in the prone (on tummy) all night.

I'm home for a brief bit gathering stuff for him and showering. My in-laws have the girls and the dogs at the lake. I will be gone for a bit but I'll be back....

I'm baaaaaaack! And I'm putting all my 10 bazillion photos on photobucket right now so I can size them to post here. I'll maybe fill up all the rest of our pages before they shut us down!!!!

But first - drumroll please........ Here is the picture you have all been waiting for...... Ladies and Gentlemen, the leader of our pack, our fearless leader, the #1 CFWW...... It's Debbie!!!!

2008_0920Bucky0123.jpg

It was so funny though how we met. We talked a few times on Wednesday, via texting. Poor thing, her flight got delayed.... I'll let her give the details when she gets back. Then we talked a couple of times on the phone on Thursday. We were both at AK that day, but because they got in really late the night before, we were leaving AK when she called to say they were in line for EE. So her family teased her - sure, there's someone named Kara, convenient they're leaving when you call her.... yada yada yada. So then she told me they were eating at Cape May on Friday night - and it's at BC, right by where we were staying! So it worked out that Jeff and I were leaving Epcot via the IG, heading back to YC to change into our suits for a little pool time, right when Debbie called. They were getting ready to head out to BC for dinner. So Jeff and I got changed and headed over there. And sure enough, Debbie is real!!!!

She is absolutely beautiful!!! And a tiny little thing, too! Not sure I like her anymore! :rotfl2: Just kidding!!! I met the whole gang and she has a beautiful family!!!! Matthew is a little performer, and Elizabeth is a little Debbie!

They were all showered and purty'ed up for dinner, and Jeff and I were in our swim stuff, looking pretty rough from a long day at the parks. No fair, Debbie!!! :rotfl: But it was fun, even though we only talked for about 5 minutes. I felt like I've known her forever, as our hubbys stood back and rolled their eyes.....:sad2:

Yacht Club was absolutely gorgeous!!! I'm just gonna post a bunch of photos here, but I'll detail our trip more on my report.....

Photos of our room....

This turned out to be our FAVORITE of all the Disney resorts we've stayed in. The location was PERFECT for us, right by the Epcot IG, an actually a bit closer than BW. I timed it and it was exactly 5 minutes at a normal walk from the IG to entering YC. BC is actually closer and I swear I thought I almost had Jeff talked into a DVC at BC. He admitted that is where he'd like to buy. Boat to the Studios, walk to Epcot, and technically we could monorail to MK from here (via Epcot). Loved loved loved it!!!!!!!

View from our room..... They upgraded us to a king room, with a nice garden view with the Admiral Pool, or Captains Pool or some little quiet pool right outside our room....

YCroomview1.jpg

YCroomview2.jpg

The only problem with this resort (and I remember BW was the same way) is that we felt we walked for MILES just to get to the lobby.... We were in room 1054, and we walked.... and walked.... and walked..... the corridors are sooooo long!!!! But we still loved it!

Main entrance of YC from the boardwalk side of the resort.....

YCbwmainentrance.jpg

Our room was along one of these corridors, looking out the other way toward the quiet pool...

YCbwentrance-1.jpg

Every day we strolled along this boardwalk, with a view of the BWI across the way.....

YC lobby - beautiful!!!!

OK, I need a break.... more later!
