Yikes!!! :scared1: I didn't realize they tipped over that easily! And stay clear of lakes!!!! That is a horrible story!

okay now I will sound like a complete idiot but oh well....RANT AHEAD!!!

They are like motorcycles except they don't stop as fast. They go faster and the surface you are riding on is totally unpredictable. The trails around our cabin are made up of fields, frozen lakes and old rail beds. People can get those things screamming on the old rail beds.

My FIL and BIL, should be dumb#$$ but anyway, they were riding 1) after dark and 2) drinking and 3) in a snow fall. FIL rode ahead of BIL. He kicked up a puff of snow. BIL didn't see that FIL had stopped. BIL crashed in to back of FIL throwing himself and the sled down the trail into a tree. He was going 45-50 mph when he crashed in to FIL. FIL was okay. BIL was not. He broke his leg--all the bones in it, part of his hip, ribs and shoulder. He was laid up for 3 mos. To this day he still is having issues with his leg. I think smoking may have something to do with the lack of healing but what do I know.

Now the dumb part. We continued to ride. Then Tim took his out jumping. His shocks were worn out and so when he jumped and landed his slead had not absorbing ability. He burst fractured T5and T6 in his back. These are the verabrate right behind your heart. Had they moved at all he would be a quadapalegic (sp?) He was in a brace for 6 mos +. Beth was less than a month old.

Then last winter BIL(yes the same one) ignored a stop sign on a trail and came out and plowed into a moving truck The truck ran over the front end of his sled. The sled is totalled and BIL had to buy a new front end for the Truck. They (FIL and BIL) were breaking all of my rules but I wasn't there so I can't say too much.

Yes they don't learn too fast. My family (tim and the girls) will not ride with BIL any more.

They remind me of jet skis too--but I'm not going to start on those.

I can't believe how fast time goes when I am posting. I need to have the house picked up. We start gymnastics today. Beth has been calling herself Nastia all weekend, She is sooo excited.

My boss is cracking me up!!! He just had a customer charge back her credit card purchase. SHE messed up and ordered the wrong thing, and she has it, but she's called her ccard to stop payment. That is just wrong.

So he sends her an email and copies me on it. It said...."You have absolutely worked our staff to death due to your mistakes and trying to work with you to get everything the way you wanted it. And for what? So you can cheat us out of $1,000? I don’t know how you sleep at night."

He is just a redneck with a great business mind, but sometimes he interacts with customers in a way that I only WISH I could get away with! He just tells it like it is. I'm cracking up right now!!!

I love the fact that he was honest with her. I wish business was more like that sometimes

Oh, now I'm watching this plane get ready to land at LAX with a blown tire! It's circling now trying to burn off fuel. How scary!!! I cannot even imagine.... See? This is why I HATE to fly! I'm a nervous wreck!!! I worry about all the "what-ifs."

Landed safely - just watched it live..... I hope the emergency personnel carry changes of clothes for the passengers!!!!!

Cammie- Okay, so regarding Amanda. This info was on my azithromycin sheet - and they are related meds, so for what it is worth I think that family is one of the more "allergic potential" ones - so the increased dose could have caused a reaction...

" DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE if you have had an allergic reaction to it, to other macrolide antibiotics (such as erythromycin), to ketolide antibiotics (such as telithromycin), or if you are allergic to any ingredient in this product. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE IF YOU HAVE HAD A SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION to erythromycin or any macrolide or ketolide antibiotic. A severe reaction includes a severe rash, hives, breathing difficulties, or dizziness. If you have a question about whether you are allergic to this medicine, contact your doctor or pharmacist. IF YOU EXPERIENCE difficulty breathing; tightness of chest; swelling of eyelids, face, or lips; or if you develop a rash or hives, tell your doctor immediately. Do not take any more of this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so."

Also consider if anyone who came in contact with her could have had anything different. What about the nurse? Could she have had some perfume or something that Amanda hadn't been around? I hate puzzles like that. Mia has had a measle like rash 3 times. Still have no idea why. Dr. THINKS it could be a peanut allergy, so we avoid nuts like the plague. I hope that she is doing better today!

Debbie & Laura - I dread the first day of school. Nicolas was watching Aladin today in the car and said, "he is going to lie to her. why not tell her the truth? It is so obvious that she loves him and he loves her too!" WTH? He is 4 years old!!! :sad2:

Trip update: So far, looks like we will be fine. Called them today, and they faired the storm well. SO, just two more sleeps and I'm on the beach! Now comes the task of packing. I've elected to bring groceries down too, so that is adding to my packing chore, but it should make the grocery stop much shorter.

CT Results: The dr. called me back and he has reviewed the films. He actually thinks things are much better than they wrote in the report. He even commented that it looked like and improvement from the latest x-ray. SO, since I was on artihromycin at the time, he wants to start a 14 day course of another antibiotic (start when I come back) to make sure we knock it out. He thinks the spots are the last of the infections. ALMOST A YEAR to get rid of this thing. At least a dozen antibiotics. :sad2:

Tammie - I think it was you who asked if he was my dr. during the MRSA thing - yes and no. He actually took the case over when things got bad. He is very good. I'm all about second opinions and uber second guessing my MDs, but I feel at peace with him. That is a very nice feeling to have during things like this. I'm sure he will have me fixed up in no time.

Mia is balking at her nap today. I need her to snooze so I can get to the store today.

Decorating Update: I bought chocolate curtains for our bedroom. I think I love them. I took down the green ones and put them up. I have a white quilt bedding set and dark furniture. I think it really looks nice - and makes our bedroom dark! :thumbsup2

So last night was the first of many school breakdowns! DD9 cried for 1+ hours last night. First I need to mention that there's an issue of 'snakes' in her bed. Yup, she can't sleep under the blankets because there are 'snakes' under the blankets and they bite at her feet. I tried to get her to go to bed 30 mins early to no avail, but then when it was bedtime she started crying. She got herself so worked up, by the time I got into the room she was crying that I didn't love her anymore. That I loved DD6 more! It breaks my heart to see her so upset, but I know it is the pre-school stress.

Last night DD6 shouts out something to noone in particular in her sleep because she's starting with the pre-school stress.

Usually DD9 has these crying fits in her sleep - she's had them for years always the first month of school. She wakes up crying, we run in to see what's wrong and can't wake her up. We walk her down the hall to go to the bathroom while she continues to cry hysterically. Then we carefully put her back into bed and get her all nice and comfortable - that's usually when she wakes up asking us what we're doing and why did we wake her up. I've talked to her dr about it and I even did the smack in the face (not hard) and a cold face cloth, but what works the best is above and go with the flow.

Fun and games. Tonight my mom and I are taking DD9 out to go shopping for new clothes so that should make her feel better.

BTW school starts tomorrow for us!

Tina - Lauren used to do this SAME thing! It was happening years ago and the doctor called it "night terrors". It was horrible: she'd sit up, hysterical screaming and crying for me; I would come into the room but she didn't even know I was there! She would never wake from it; would just eventually calm down and go back to sleep. In the morning, she'd have no recollection of it at all. And it would happen the same time every night - doctor thought it had something to do with going from REM sleep into a deep sleep. She eventually stopped but it was really freaky because it was like she was possessed!:scared1: Your poor baby! Hopefully it will stop soon!

Renee - Glad to hear you got some positive news regarding the CT scan. Are you feeling any better?

And, I am convinced it was the extra dose of erythromicyn that gave Amanda that reaction. It's weird because she never had a problem with 2xs/day; but three puts her over the edge!:confused3

Debbie and Laura - Boys and their toys:sad2: ! They'll never learn! No way would I get on a snow mobile. I even stopped skiing because I was hearing of too many accidents of skiers slamming into trees. I'm a big scaredy-cat in my older years!

Kara - As for you........you know more people are killed in automobile accidents every year than in airplane crashes, right? Conquer the fear!

Kara - As for you........you know more people are killed in automobile accidents every year than in airplane crashes, right? Conquer the fear!

Sure, I know that. I also know lots of people who have been in automobile crashes, including myself. How many people do you know who have been in a plane crash? No one, because the ALL DIED!!!! When my car has a problem, I pull to the side of the road. The pilot can't pull over onto a cloud to repair the plane!!!!

I know. Irrational. Know me. Love me. I'm nuts.

No you just need medication and alcohol when you fly!

By the way, I thought that I boo'd you!!! Oh, I see how it is, you just like Tammie better! :snooty:

Just sitting outside at the bar, enjoying dinner with Ally. We stopped by a bagel shop and got samiches. She insisted on sitting out here.

Get this. She goes behind the bar and asks me if I'd like a drink. I tell her no thanks. Then she opens the fridge and says, "oh, we're out of Bud Light Lime, would you like me to go to the garage and get you some?" :scared1: Yes, my 7 year old bartender!!!! :rotfl2:

Debbie - how was Elizabeth's first day????

Cammie - tomorrow your girls go back, right? And Tina too?

Tina - I'm so sorry to hear that your girls are having a tough time with school starting. When I was little, I fought my mother so badly each morning and literally sat in my classroom for the first 1/2 hour each day for a month and just sobbed. Believe it or not, I was actually shy at one time in my life.... don't know when that ended...:rolleyes1

Elizabeth liked her first day. I am still on the fence. :scared1: There are 38 kids in her class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you ****ing kidding me!!!!!!! Now I have to jump down all their backs there to see how they are going to resolve this one!
There are only two classes and the school is very popluar again. The good news is there are three first grades and three secnd grades but what about now!
SO.....I am still stressing!

BTW I did get a few boo's..... lucky me but was just holding off on putting it in my siggie.

Renee...glad you are on the mend. I hope your trip is GREAT!
Sorry Tina for your woas. Good luck tomorrow! I love the late start!

Have a great night to the rest of you.

I was actually shy at one time in my life.... don't know when that ended...:rolleyes1
Me too! Go figure. And I so love BL with Lime. Best stuff ever. Try a light beer (do you have Hopps there? It is a microbrew - this is their recipe) and dump in a shot of Razzamataz. YUMMY!

I'm just listening to all you and thinking I have many headaches coming. I was upset that Nicolas had 10 kids in his class! :confused3

Man, I still have so much to pack/clean. I'm not looking forward to tonight & tomorrow! Long night ahead of me.

Thanks for all the congrats! And thanks for holding my hand while I was worried. You guys really are the best and I'm SO LOOKING FORWARD to my trip with all of you! :grouphug: I've only been to a bar drinking once in my life, and here I'm planning on rooming with... :lmao:

Kara - I didn't get a boo from you. Just figured I didn't make your cut... :snooty:

Hey - got this email. Check out the wine bottle - wouldn't that make a cute thing for your beers for halloween? "Witches Brew" LOVE THAT!

Oh, I couldn't post it without the whole ad showing up, and I'm afraid I'd get a hand slap for it. They just took a halloween font and pic and made a little label they taped over the bottle that said Witches Brew.

Maybe I could make some for DH that says ***hole's brew! :lmao:

WOW! that's crazy. I thought we had large class sizes in our public schools. Beth has 20 kids in her class. . I keepinhh my fingers crossed that they get that worked out for you guys.
