Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too (Part 2)

Computer issues again - I'm powering down for the night... looks like it might crash again soon :scared1:

I've read through several pages of your posts. You girls sound like you are having alot of fun on here. I started reading because I'm a worry wart, control freak. I do good not being a worry wart some days and other days I just can't control it. For example Saturday when we arrive a WDW we are suppose to go to MK and do spectro and wishes. Now I'm hearing that Mk is closing at 5pm, even though everything still says 9. Another diser got a call that her CRT ressies were cancelled because the park is closing at 5. So know I don't know if we will see spectro and wishes another night. It really messes up my plan. Hope its ok if I posted on this thread.

Poor Kara

I snore too. So I guess it is me and Kara out on the balcony:rotfl:

Sounds great. Just let me know what dates we decide and when we are going to start planning.

Hey roomie!

oh I will be out on the balcony with Kara and Jillian. I talk in my sleep. No real great secrets but just mummbles

Hey other roomie!

Ok, I guess it looks like Renee, Pam and myself will actuall pay for the room; and the rest of you will be renting outdoor space!;)

Wow! This could be a lot cheaper than I thought! :rotfl:

Welcome to our little thread! We have loads of fun over here!!! Just jump in anytime!

As for MK closing early, have you called WDW? Just call and check to see what they say - that way you'll know for sure and have plenty of time to rearrange your schedule. When are you going??

Hi Michelle. I agree with Kara - call them to see what they say and WHY they will be closing early. Kinda gauge the CM too to see if you think they know what they are talking about - or maybe call and do a 2 out of 3. I do that a lot. See if I can get the same answer from different cast members.

The computer is acting okay this morning with the USB connection.

Kara - FWI - they originally thought it was our firewall too - then our network card. Turns out it was the cable connecting the DSL modem to the PC unit - if you have another cord around, might not hurt to try that. We bypassed the Ethernet and connected by USB and all is working again. :confused3

I'm channeling Martha here today. I hate our computer desk - and I have an itch to do something about it today. I really need an L shape. (Kara - Carlos had a hissy about the suspending curtains idea - so I nixed that). I have a junky one now, so I don't know if I should try to keep the junky one and make it work until I find the Perfect one or just go see what they have at Target and get the best option there. HUMMM - decisions decisions!

I'm honestly leaning toward taking the hutch off this one and getting just a flat computer desk at Target. Housing the CPU and the Printer on the old one and just the monitor, mouse, speakers, and keyboard on the other. Then when this kicks the bucket - we might go back to a laptop - make sense?

What does Martha think? :rotfl2:

I bought Canvas yesterday. I bough 4 8x10 to put pictures on. That should be easy and cool to do a grouping. I also bought a 24x36 for Mias room. I read that "Healthy Living, Healthy Child" book as I waited at the Dr. Office. Now I'm all anti using acrylic paint on it because of the VOCs, so I decided to trip the canvas in a ribbon - you will see. I think it may be cute when I'm done. I am just going to use cardstock I think. Kinda hard to explain.

I'm in a get the house fixed up mode. Which reminds me. I have an almost 18 month old. I really need to order her 12 month pictures I had taken :rotfl2:

Morning girls!

Michelle - First of all: :welcome: to our crazy thread. Hope you can stick around and enjoy the fun.

I have heard that MK is closing early that day. The rumor is that it is for a "media event", which everyone is assuming will be the announcement of the parks' new celebration for 2009 (this is the last year of the "Year of A Million Dreams); also expecting announcing regarding plans for the parks - new construction, rides - who knows?:confused3 I did hear they've had to cancel the 10/3 MNSSHP to prepare for this. It is frustrating though; because I know people are reporting that the CMs they talk to aren't giving out the correct info. There's a whole thread about this on the Theme Parks & Attractions board.

Kara - Glad you computer problems have been somewhat settled for now; and sorry I missed your call. You sound EXACTLY the way I thought you would - loud, bubbly, and southern!:lmao:

I keep asking and they keep saying it will be 9pm but if there is a media event. well just who the hecks knows. Wishes and Spectro will only be one night now while we are there. Not sure what we are going to do. I'll keep you posted

Everyone is quite today. I just came back with my desk from Target. Funny, it says "Team Lift" on it, but I was able to carry it up the stairs by myself. :confused3 The benefits of having a 54 lb 4 year old that likes mommy to carry him, I guess.

I think I am going to like this!

Oh - and my two cents on the dining plan.

I really think the 20% off everything is a better deal than the DDP - but that is just me. We can always get granular on it. :rotfl2:

Okay - off to assemble a desk. I will post pics later on. I think I have a nice, messy before shot too from where I sought the wizard of decorating's advice. :worship: :rotfl2:

Well ain't that sweet of y'all! Bless y'all's heart! :rotfl2: Hey, I'm really a midwesterner. Born in Kansas City, lived there 14 years, moved to Columbus, OH, lived there 4 years until I went away to college. Stayed in Ohio until 1994 when I moved to SC. Guess all that sweet tea has affected my speech!!!

I'm anxious to see it! Ya know, another option, but might not be good with Mia at this age, is those photo screens. We have one that holds a ton of different photos, three sections stand on the ground, about 5 ft high. It can hide all kinds of stuff. But it would get knocked down too much with little ones...

Kara, Thought about that - and came to the same place as you - that it would need to be when Ms. Pulls on Everything gets older.

I REALLY like the desk - but I'm a little spooked about it. Of course it comes with a big sticker "young children can be killed by pulling on furniture". One of the girls at the hair place had her 18 month old pull over a front entrance table on herself - 48 stitches on the face. :sad1:

So I'm trying to wedge it in - not the prettiest look, but we can always move it out more once she gets past this year and leaves things alone a bit more. I really like it. Unlike our pressed board one, this one is solid wood. Looks nice. Should be roomier too to spread out on. I think I will skirt the old one and hide the clunky CPU - maybe the printer or maybe I'll sit the printer out and hide the bill stuff under there - decisions. :lmao:

Okay so get this. I have that mom who wants to babysit for us - somehow I'm keeping her kid tomorrow for free :confused3 I tell Carlos - again with the "Doormat" what is up with that word???

Looks like RAIN! We are getting out of the 99s to actually 85  Plus I get a day off from watering the lawn. I'm seriously hating that job right now. Hooking up that tractor and rolling the hoses up is such a big PITA.

And Cammie - she can't sound WORSE than me. After all, I've pretty much always been in some part of Middle/West TN - except for 2 years in VA - but it has always been the south for me. :confused3

Honestly, I think you both "tawk" funny!:rotfl:

I'm the one with the normal accent!:snooty:

So I don't think I'll be around much. We have the Jonas Bros. concert tonite. The highway we have to take to get there is ALWAYS a mess. With the concert starting at 7pm, I'm thinking I might leave way early -- around 3-4pm -- to avoid rush hour traffic; which means I could get there 2-3 hours before the concert!:scared1: So I'm preparing a little "tailgate" party for Lauren and I: making sandwiches, pasta salad, chips & dip, and choc.chip cookies. We'll hang out in the parking lot, crank the tunes, and stuff our faces!:woohoo:

Cammie that sounds so fun!!! Have a great time and take pictures!!!! Ally is becoming quite the Jonas Bros fan!

tim might not let me hang out with you guys. ;) I pick up accents so fast. I have lived in MN my entire life but after 4 days in Johnson City, TN, you would have sworn I grew up there. After a week in Boston I had that lazy R down pat. I can only imagine what I will sound like after a long weekend with y'all.

My favorite thing is when I am at work people ask where are we located. I say MN and they reply you don't sound like someone from MN. I say are you expecting "Grumpy Old Men" or "Fargo"? Then I thow in the you betcha just for good measure.

Cammie have fun at the show tonight.

Oh, Laura, yah, surely you betcha! :rotfl2: Think I'll go drink a Cohca Cohla.

Where is the rain today??? I really need it here to water my new plants. Figures, it rains every day UNTIL I plant something!

The rain is here - right now! Thunder and lightning also. Can only hope it gets it all of it's system now and it's clear for tonite. The concert is outside although our seats are covered.

Hi! TGIT! (Thank goodness it’s Thursday! Oh, I need to remember I am the one who is acronym challenged!)

Kara – Did you have to get a new pc? If you said, I missed it.

Cammie – What a great mom you are! The tailgating party at the JB concert sounds like so much fun! As far as I’m concerned, you can be our director of fun on our trip!

Renee – Reading about worrying about small children pulling things over – I get so nervous when small kids visit our house. It is so not kid-proof anymore, and w/the clutter, they like to pick everything up. When our friends w/little ones come over, I follow them from room to room (you would think their moms would tho!?).

Welcome, Michelle!:flower3:

Hi Laura!:hippie:

Have a great day, ya’ll!!! (I’m guilty of hitting the sweet tea, too! I think Chick-fil-A’s is the bestest!)

Have room for one more?

Just noticed this board and I can definitely say that I'm a worrywart. And the other day my loving mother told me I was a control freak so I guess I'll fit right in. LOVE LOVE LOVE Disney World and count the days between trips. I wish I could plan another trip immediately but hubby starts nursing school in a couple of weeks and will quit his job in exactly 9 days!:scared1: I have made and remade budgets, schedules and tried to plan for every worst case scenario. I've also hoarded every last cent like a squirrel with its' nuts. I'm starting to feel a little nutty myself. And I feel ridiculous for getting in a tizzy over something positive but I have spent the last week agonizing over which of the 3 preschools my son got accepted in to send him to. I also started another part time job this week to help with finances. I've spent the past week reorganizing my house and have cleaned out every closet and I can't manage to sleep past 5 o'clock in the morning for some reason. Sorry to be so off topic but I figured if anyone would listen it would be you guys. So, do I qualify? Can I join in?
