Now, now, girls - don't fight over me! (and, btw, any TRUE Soprano fan would know that Mrs. Soprano's name is Carmela!)

Germany/Norway, La Whatever/French food, Camilla/Carmela.... whatever....

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Besides. I just got TIVO. Think I've ever watched Sopranos? I think I followed a few episodes and gave it up. Did see the last one. Know what... When you don't watch the whole thing... YEAH!

At least I got to get through SATC & OZ before I had to give up tv. :sad1: :sad2: But now with my DVR... It's back on, baby!

I hear thunder. I'm hoping there will be rain. We so need it. Our grass is about dead again...

Oh - and Kara - $3.63 a GALLON in Columbus. I was shocked. We are still at 3.89. That was by far the cheapest I saw. Of course I made sure we filled up there!

Renee - I have a recipe for bowtie pasta with sausage and peppers; but I often subsitute chicken and broccoli.

Essentially, brown some cut-up chicken and some ch.onions in olive oil and garlic; mix together one can of chicken broth (14oz), 2 tsp.crushed basil; and 4 tsp. cornstarch; add this mixture to the chicken; cook and stir until thickened. Let simmer for a few minutes; then pour over cooked pasta and broccoli.

It's even better as leftovers because the sauce really absorbs into the food.

Boy, the Mechler Girls got a lot of mail from "control freaks" today!

Tammie - Thanks for the postcard. We love Minnie!
Debbie - Thanks for Amanda's card. She totally loves Mickey!
Renee - Thanks for my birthday treats! You know how much I loved it!

:thumbsup2 Just what I had in mind. I was coming up with Chicken, Pasta, chicken broth and Parm cheese, but I wasn't sure how to turn that into a sauce. That sounds absolutely perfect!!!! THANK YOU CAMMIE!

Oh, and Kara, I wouldn't plan on doing anything on your next WDW trip. Nicolas has a laundry list of experiements that you can "hunt" :rotfl2: Seriously though, this kid is KILLING me with all the names of the ones he wants. OH, and best of all, if you can snag him a REAL experiment pod, he PROMISES he won't get it wet! :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl:

Good news - Darrin talked to his sister about the upcoming IL's 50th party, and she agreed to let their mom & dad pay for the open bar. I was so relieved! I know that's awful, and I feel bad for feeling that way, but I do...It looks like we (and that means ME!) will be doing most of the work, since they don't live close, she doesn't have a compatable pc - they have a Mac, and they don't have a printer that would do nice invitations w/pics.... I know I am complaning an awful lot, it will be fun and greatly appreciated by ILs, but :headache: Double :headache: !! Thanks for listening!!

I totally feel for you on this one! Sounds like the planning I did for our trip in May with all of Jeff's family. I enjoy doing it, but it came to be "expected" and that I did NOT like.

She's much more like a sister. Seriously, we talk at least an hour just about every day. She is the one person who I know would take care of my kids if something happened to us both!!! She even has college funds set up for my kids. LOVE HER!

I'm sure she is appreciative. She isn't like SOME peoples SIL. (uh hum... KARA) :rotfl:

Speaking of which, she STILL hasn't sent me that money!!!

Speaking of Kara - You can have your nice little patio. I've one upped you. :snooty: Guess who got to talk to Camilla? :lmao: :rotfl2: (And BTW Cammie - you do not sound like Camilla. Maybe that chick from Goodfellas.... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: )

Are you talking to ME? Trying to do DeNiro there - c'mon you know you're all imitating it! Or was that Al Pacino? Anywho....:rolleyes1 And I know it's Carmela! Our favorite line from any Sopranos, and we use it (under our breath of course) at any family gathering.... "What? No ******* ziti?" :rotfl2:

Now Renee, you're a southern gal, did you need an interpreter??? :rotfl2:

It's funny, when my dad used to talk to Ally on the phone, I had to translate. First of all, she sounds like a chipmunk, really high pitched voice. Then throw in her speech impediment (R's and S's), a really thick southern accent, and let her show off the German she's learned - it was hilarious!!!

Jeff is in bed. Ally is in bed. I SHOULD be in bed! I put together all our patio furniture tonight! It came in cartons from Home Depot, delivered on Friday, and I sat in garage and put together 6 chairs and one big table. Actually, the table was easy, just putting the legs on. But I made Jeff carry the chairs around to the patio. It took both of us to carry the table. It's a really nice set, very heavy and sturdy. Hopefully it'll last us awhile.

Well, nothing has been decided about going to SILs in three weeks. I pretty much told Jeff that he can fly up if he wants, but I don't want Ally going. He got mad at me, but I really don't care at this point. It's ridiculous, and I know I'm going to hear about it from his parents this weekend. I'm sure that's where the pressure is coming from. Oy vey!

I think I'm gonna go to HD tomorrow and get mulch and start on the front yard. It's looking pretty bare in the beds. Nobody gets mulch delivered from a truck down here, ya know, just dumped int he driveway? So they all recommend just going to HD and buying it in bags. I'll give it a shot!

OK, off to bed now - chat with y'all tomorrow!

What - it is 8:30, and I"m the first poster of the morning... WOW!

So... how's everyone doing?

I got my materials for the binder. Carlos actually wanted me to have it done professionally at Kinkos... NERD. BUT, I elected to just do it at home and save some money. He can suck it up.

We're about to go to the pool, but I am trying to get a few things done this morning.

Kara - nope to the interpreter. I hang out with a family from Boston, so I do pretty good with the accents. I do have a southern one, so maybe she need one for me! :rotfl2: However, I promise mine isn't as DEEP SOUTH as a lot of people around here. You know that line from Sweet Home Alabama... "you need a passport to come here". Oh yea.... :lmao:

Okay...
So I'm working on my book and I need a little DHS & EPCOT help from my buds. I think I have a good list for "to-do's in MK" and I honestly think we are skipping AK, but I might ask for help on that one too.

My 4 year old is BIG. 46 inches without shoes as of May. 54 lbs too! Not chunky - BIG! So he can ride about anything I would think. BUT he's my little chicken. He rode Barnstormer and was a smiles at the end, but I could tell he was scared during it. He just watched NEMO this weekend, and refuses LION KING since he watched the opening bit last year.

Here's what I came up with since I don't really know the parks. I'm assuming all events will be for us all unless I note different.

EPCOT
Nemo Ride/Turtle Talk/Seven Seas
Soarin (baby swap this one)
Test Track (guys).
Masks/Passports
Drinks around WS... :rolleyes1
Character Connection
Fireworks
:confused3

DHS
Meeting Characters
Playhouse Disney
Pizza Planet (mainly for Nicolas)
Jedi Training
Star Wars ride (Carlos)
Fantasmic is a big fat no. Nicolas would not do this at all.
:confused3

So any bit you can help me out, I'd appreciate!

Hope everyone is having a great day!!!!!!!

EPCOT
Nemo Ride/Turtle Talk/Seven Seas Let's go with LIVING Seas here (actually, now it's just "The Seas with Nemo and Friends" - it'ss be easier to find... :rotfl2: Turtle Talk is one of the best attractions in all of the parks, IMHO.
Soarin (baby swap this one) Another one of my faves - I think Nicholas would enjoy this one, too!
Test Track (guys). Definitely!
Masks/Passports
Drinks around WS... :rolleyes1 Did I mention that THIS is my alltime fave attraction??? :rotfl2:
Character Connection Also tons of character in World Showcase!
Fireworks
:confused3

DHS
Meeting Characters
Playhouse Disney
Pizza Planet (mainly for Nicolas)
Jedi Training
Star Wars ride (Carlos)
Fantasmic is a big fat no. Nicolas would not do this at all.
:confused3

How about Indiana Jones? The Great Movie Ride? The Muppet Movie? The Lights, Motors, Action show? Beauty and the Beast show (beautiful!!! Even Jeff enjoys it!), The Little Mermaid show. The Magic of Disney Animation - cute, fun, and then you can meet Sorcerer Mickey and the Incredibles afterwards. It's right by Playhouse Disney. The afternoon parade? Also, even though Nicholas wouldn't like it, y'all could baby swap RnRC and ToT - especially ToT, it's themed so great and just plain fun! I'd plan on a day here, and if you finish early, great! Maybe do a lunch ADR here, and plan on dinner in Epcot (since you'll be staying at BC anyway! :rolleyes1 ), that way you can either stay at DHS until dinner, or head back to the resort, or on to Epcot when you finshi up.

So any bit you can help me out, I'd appreciate!

Hope everyone is having a great day!!!!!!!

I'm getting excited for your presentation Renee! Can you conference us all in on speakerphone so we can help with rebuttals??? :rotfl2:

This was the first time we had ever done the Epcot passports for the kids, and what I enjoyed about it is that we actually saw more of the hidden spots in the countries that we had never seen before. Can't tell you how many times Jeff and I said, "huh, never knew this was back here!" After all, the WS is just so beautiful, and relaxing to just wander around.... I'll make Nicholas a passport before you go.... :thumbsup2

Good Morning everyone.

DD called from cheer camp last night. She's hating it. Says it's no fun at all & basically is wanting it to get over with. YIKES.

She'll be home tomorrow so that will be good.

There are only 4 teams there.

As for EPCOT, I won't be much help.

Hi Girls,
Renee...you have been busy catching up!!! Glad you are back! How exciting to see what decision you finally go with. CRAZY!
We are psossibley looking at a March trip at a timeshare to WDW. Anyone going then?
I think I missed where Tammie is?
We had another Kiddieland marathon. It's the closest I will get to Disney World in the summer. The kids love it! It will be a darn shame if it actually does get taken down to sell the property. It has been there since my Mom was a kid. I mean I look at the rides and they are antiques! They are gorgeous! Check out the website if you want.
http://www.kiddieland.com/default.asp
There isn't really any pix though. Maybe I will search the web.
Becky..it is like Santa's Village...so sad when something like that gets torn down. Thank GOD we don't have to worry about WDW!!!

Pam...I laughed when you asked "what is a swan bite"...She actually GOT BIT BY A SWAN!!!!!! It was terrible!
Glad you are hanging with us!

Kara...your porch looks like it is going to be AWESOME!!!!! VERY cool!!! Thanks for keeping us posted with pix!

I have so much to do today but it is going to be sunny and 90 so I feel like I should bring the kids to the pool. The thing is when I go to the pool I go all day and then at night we are DONE!

Hi Laura! How are the kids doing? Does DD have TV back? Mine are a little better but mostly because we are running around again having fun! My kids behave the worst when we are trapped inside for whatever reason.

Cammie...sorry Amanda is pooped but so glad she is better. Can you see a difference with her teeth when you look at her or was it a lot of internal stuff. Glad she liked the card.
Live365 is on again! REFLECTIONS OF EARTH girls! From your favorite place! Great music...very moving! Maybe it will get my butt moving!

Shamefully, no. I have a nephew and a niece. I don't know, we don't see them so much, etc. DSIL that is pregnant is also an only child- and I love her to pieces.

OH! I have one of THOSE! I have one of each of those!! Darrin's sister is awful, and I am not allowed to be an aunt to her 3 kids. My brother has been married for 2 years, and my neice is 6 mos. old, and I love that SIL to pieces!!

I remember some mention about that from past postings. I have an awful memory, and will ask the same questions over and over. No, it is not old age, I have always had a horrible memory!

Now, now, girls - don't fight over me! (and, btw, any TRUE Soprano fan would know that Mrs. Soprano's name is Carmela!)

Or, Guido??? That is the name we use at our house when we use the NE accents! Guido - I have got to try the chicken pasta recipe! I usually just toss pasta w/chicken, broccoli, olive oil and garlic. Boring.

:Nicolas has a laundry list of experiements that you can "hunt" :rotfl2: Seriously though, this kid is KILLING me with all the names of the ones he wants. OH, and best of all, if you can snag him a REAL experiment pod, he PROMISES he won't get it wet! :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl:

OK - you mean the boys give you more of a run for your money than the girls? Most of our good friends have girls. I haven't had much experience w/the little boys. A good neighbor friend has a 3 yr old boy, and when he comes over, it's like a tornado when thru our house!

DD called from cheer camp last night. She's hating it. Says it's no fun at all & basically is wanting it to get over with. YIKES.

She'll be home tomorrow so that will be good.

That's too bad, but good that she will be home tomorrow!

Kara - Oy vey is a favorite saying at our house, esp for Darrin, when us girls are driving him crazy!

Renee - What is this presentation book, and who are you giving it to, presenting it for? I agree w/Kara on the afternoon parades. That is one of my favorite times at WDW, when we park ourselves on the curb for a front row seat on Main Street in MK over an hour before parade time, and take turns going in and out of the shops, then get an ice cream and popcorn right before the parade. Why can only guys ride Test Track?!:snooty: Just wondering?:confused3

I saw a lot of posts that I couldn't read. I've got to get ready for the pool, but Kara cracked me up, so I had to respond to this one first. I'll catch up and read the other ones when I get back...Originally Posted by UsNew2Disney2008

Oh man, I so need you help. I'm so confused about PECOT and HDS! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
It is so funny that I am doing this! I always fuss at Carlos about mixing things up. He tells me it is all "illegible" anyway. My response... "Okay, Ricky Ricardo" :lmao. I'll never admit I"m goofing all these names up to him, of course!

y'all could baby swap RnRC and ToT - especially ToT, it's themed so great and just plain fun! I'd plan on a day here, and if you finish early, great! Baby swap just for Carlos - right. Seriously, I'd so need to be loaded (drinks and meds) to ride one of those. I DO NOT do well on scarey rides. :scared1: ToT, for a ZILLION dollars I would not do that ride! :snooty:

Hi Deb! Poor thing! I didn't know swans bite! They are so pretty!! I am jealous that you get to go to the pool today!

My girls have been getting up early this week for VBS at church, and they have been AWFUL in the AMs! They quarrelled so much in the car today that I ended up screaming SHUT UP!!! and sounding like a lunatic. They are good friends, but when they fight, they fight, and it makes me crazy! I tell Taylor that she drives me insane. That is awful, but so true. I feel like such a bad mom, but I do also tell her, and way more than telling me she drives me insane, that I love her so much, and am so grateful for her...

Renee - What is PECOT and HDS??

Pam, that is "Reneespeak" for Epcot and DHS! You have to excuse our Renee - she's a bit
5.gif
but we love her anyway. Sshh! She's quite sensitive, too....

Ya know I'm kidding Renee!!! Love ya girl! :flower3:

OK, no ToT for you, but you must encourage Carlos to ride it! It's great!!! Chicken! :rotfl2:

And the more that Ricky Ricardo enjoys WDW, the sooner you'll go back!!! ;)

I am just slow w/the acronyms, but I will probably never refer to Disney Studios as DHS! Creature of habit!!

I wasn't poking fun, Renee!!!!:)
