I think I see the HGTV crew out back! It's an episode of "House Hunters" and there's a short fat couple named Arnie and Amy ARMADILLO!!!! Looks like they're trying to choose a yard to dig up!!! I hate those ugly fat little things! And they totally destroy our yard! Bucky spotted them out in the woods and believe it or not, he did not chase after them. I kept watching him inch further into the woods until I called him. That's when I spotted my newest neighbors. AARRGGHH!!!!
More Adventures in Floridaland!

I think they are so cute, but I don't have any digging up my yard....
Your room sounds really great! Have you seen Domestications? Some of their stuff is actually pretty nice, and good prices. I have ordered a few times. you can find it on
www.domestications.com, also.
cool then we could really see what all of your drama was about.
Back from the pool. Beth and Katherine are slowing becoming chocolate colored. There is no ethnic blood in Tim or I whatsoever. I really am putting sunscreen 45 waterproof on these girls. One of thes days I will have to photograph it.
Yes, we want pics of your chocolate girls!
Hi guys! Quick stop by for now. I just got in from Amanda's pre-op appt. in Boston; I was told to expect it to take 2-2 1/2 hours - well it took over 4 HOURS! We left at 9:15 this morning and got back at 4pm. I'm so freakin' tired!!!! Seriously, I have sheer body exhaustion. Amanda was a trooper though - had blood drawn;EKG; x-rays - she did fine. Felt bad for Lauren; I don't usually drag her to these things but I knew I could really use the help so I told she had to come. Promised we'd grab some lunch when we were done - which I THOUGHT would be around 12:30. Nope, didn't finish with the hospital business unti 2:30; the poor thing was starving!
I'll catch up with what I missed later and check back in. Hope everyone had a good day!
I'm sorry your pre-op day was such a pain! They did the pre-op pretty early, it seems.
Karajeboo - you have totally turned me off from ever moving to FL!! Our first incident with an armadillo was at Disney Fort Wilderness campgrounds to be exact. We were walking from the boat dock to our trailer after seeing the fireworks. The girls were totally pumped about the colors and the lights and then we hear this strange noise. I thought it was Jacob Marley coming from the grave dragging his chains down the walkway.

We all turn our flashlights and it's an armadillo. I thought DD5 was going to jump on my shoulders she was so scared of it. Let's see; you've got copperhead snakes, scorpions, pametto bugs and armadillos. Yup, no matter how big I love the MOUSE, he can't make me get over those things!
So I've done nothing with the curtains. They are now in a ball on the floor on top of my sewing machine. However I think I'm going to make myself a skirt with fabric I bought to make a top.

The madness never ends.
OH, other great news. DH found ANOTHER mysterious charge on our Disney VISA credit card!!! This one clearly not ours!! Someone ibought $40 worth of Children's Art in FL on June 5th and it definitely wasn't us because we were up here in MA!! This is the second time we're going to have to cancel the card because someone charged something on our Disney VISA card and it wasn't us. This time at least it wasn't too much money, the last time was $600 out of Taiwan. If it wasn't for the reward points I'd say screw the card.
DID YOU CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENT LATELY!!
Thanks for the warning about the credit cards! I would be in big trouble right now if someone clones my debit card!
Hiya all -just a quick fly by...... still busy busy busy - school ends tomorrow though...
Party for DD(6 now) was great, all girls so lots of fun and dancing and crafts and pizza and cake and chocolate -why don't people run parties like that for us grown-ups!!!!!!!!!
And I am soooo envious of you with the armadillos - I am fascinated by the little creatures!! We hoped to see them when we went over - wrong season apparently?? Is there really an "armadillo season"?? Saw some in September/October time before though - but they were all flat!! On the side of the roadways...
Anyhow, got to go supervise some kids - sunny times at the minute......
Tessa
Hi Tessa! I'm glad your party went so well!
Hello,
I am a new Dis-er ,but a veteran worry wart, so I wanted to ask y'all something about our first trip to the World this August. I have a very tall 2 year old who is always getting mistaken for 3. We weren't planning on buying admission for him. Do I need to bring some proof of his age to prove that I have a 2 not 3 year old? We are flying from VA, so I didn't ever think I would need any kind of I.D. for the kids, but now I am wondering.
TIA
Welcome Tia! My youngest was 3 turning 4 when we went to DL - we had him in a stroller. At that time, it was free for under 4 - they made us take him out of the stroller so they could judge his size... You might want to bring a copy of his Birth Cert. just to be safe. They can probably also tell that a 2 yr old is still somewhat of a baby? Happy planning - we love to help, so jump in!
Hi Gang!
What are your guys thoughts on the devise of Pleasure Island? I don't really care.
My spoiled kids have gone from being in Wisconsin for 5 days to a Cubs game, then the water park, Taste of Park Ridge & carnival, baby shower, camp and Kiddie Land to another pool day! Talk about lucky kids! I can't wait to share pix when I get my butt moving to upload them!!
Debbie! We miss you! We were planning to go to Adventure Club in March, so I'm bummed. We finally get some adult time when we know what to do, and the adult things are going away.
Sounds like your kids had a great vacation! I'm glad you made the time. How is the Summer House thing coming?
Jillian, we do both open and cash bars here. Some people have an open bar up to a set limit. When that limit is reached, the bartenders just tell people that the drinks are now cash. We had a cash bar for Mark's wedding (our youngest) as he and Lindsay don't drink, weren't even old enough to drink and we didn't want their friends drinking - we only had the bar to please certain members of her family. Otherwise she wouldn't have wanted any bar. For Ryan's wedding, we rented a hall and had it catered by a BBQ place - so we brought and poured champagne for the tables, and had a bucket of beer and pop and a punch fountain - the bride's family set up a pretty good DIY bar, and Jim's uncle volunteered to be the bar tender and made margaritas and strawberry daiquari's all night. There was quite a bit more drunkeness, and I was a little concerned about safety, but I guess everyone was Okay.
Well, I gotta go get ready for church - I'll finish catching up tomorrow!
