Love the pic. I am feeling a bit better. We are off to swimming lessons today. Beth is a fish but needs some help controlling her energy in the water.

Jeez - Kara. I know you've posted on that tr "He Said/She said". The DISer just posted this morning that her husband has left her! I've been following that report from the beginning and I just feel so bad for her!:sad2:

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!! No offense, but from the pics I've seen, he's lucky to have her! I'll have to check it out!

You got that right! She's so cute! But I think they were kind of young; sounds like he's being an immature jerk!

No way was I going to pay $9/person for hard liquour. :)
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Laura - our friends/family must be a little wilder than yours. There is no way in he!! that we could get away at $9 a person. Remember my SIL that just did wine and had a cash bar with just 20 people? One hour reception at Ceasers - well, try $4k - IN WINE! How in the world do you drink that many bottles. PLUS she said the Cash bar was raking it in. I guess we hang out with drunks! :confused3

Cammie - Sweet girls of yours. Seriously - I need you to do a training seminar for me on how to raise amazing kids. They are amazing - and I"m quite sure it is because of you ! :thumbsup2 As for Amanda - you mentioned her closing her eyes and shutting down. Not to be mean, but if DH is going to shirk his duties over to wifey in the hosp - at least it might help her get some rest/sleep at night. I'm not meaning that in a mean way, but at least that might help Amanda get rest while you are gone. So, we hear a lot of bragging about Ms. Lauren, but what about Amanda - I was just curious if you didn't mind sharing what her favorite things in Disney are. I think I remember you saying that Snow was her favorite once upon a time. Didn't know if she had "must dos" for the trips too.

Kara - LOVE THE RECIPE. Thanks so much!!!! :cool1: HOw was it?

Cammie/Debbie - cool tires!

Everyone else - JUST A QUICK skim - so I have to re-read everything later.

I decided thanks to encouragement from my buddies NOT TO GO. So a friend of Nicolas is coming over to play in a few minutes. SOunds fun. Long story that I'll fill you in on later - my mom bailed on us for this weekend at the last minute - want to know why she isn't watching the kids for 1 hour for us to eat by ourselves - uh, she's going to THE SAME TOWN that my dad lives in. Knows I didn't want to drive myself. SHe and DSF are taking the DAY off to drive there tomorrow. Am I invited - NOPE. Carlos was LIVID. He said to ask the lady who is coming over today (who Nannies) to see if she is open Friday so we can go out to eat. Partially to show her we will not be hostage to her on babysitting. Not sure how I feel about leaving them with her - but they should be okay for an hour --- right????:confused3

Hope everyone has
a magi

cal day 0- MIa is helping............

Renee - Dinner was good, sauce was very creamy and yummy. Jeff declared it a "keeper." :thumbsup2

As for the sitter, Ally has never had a sitter either, because we always had Jeff's parents nearby. Now we're on our own so I need to find a good sitter. But I'm sure that your kids will be fine - in fact, they will probably have a good time! The one time that I left Ally with someone was when Jeff and I got free tickets to go to a Carolina Panthers game. It was in Charlotte, which was 1 1/2 hrs away, so we left at 9am, drove up to the game which was at 1pm, then left right after the game ended and got home around 6 or so. A good friend of mine from work came to the house, picked up Ally, and they went out to breakfast, then went Christmas shopping (my girlfriend has a teenage boy and girl so she loved having Ally for the day!), then out to lunch, then more shopping. They finally got back to our house around 3:00. Ally didn't want her to leave once we got home. So just enjoy your night out, you'll have your cell phone handy, but make it an exciting time for your kids and they'll have fun and so will you!

Renee- i guess looking back at that $9/person it was a good deal. That would have been all they could drink. We were just "poor" then. Now if I did it all over again I would change some thinngs.

We have left the girls a couple of times with our neighbors but most often it is our parents that watch them. I totally understand where you are coming from. You mentioned she is a nanny. that's a big plus in my book. Try it for the hour and see how it goes. Like Kara said make sure you have your cell phone and your kids will have a great time.

It's rainning here today. Kind of in a down mood. I hate taking sudafed, I am always in a slump after I stop taking it. Guess that's another reason not to start drugs, huh. :)

Ugh! Feeling kinda gross today. My tummy is upset and I'm exhausted! I have someone coming to give me an estimate on fencing our backyard. Jeff and I are totally at odds on this. I want it so we can let Bucky out to run and play and not worry about him. He's a big dog who loves to be outside. But I'm so afraid of him running off, or heading into the woods, that we always have to be out with him, which means keeping an eye on him, which really limits his freedom. Jeff does NOT want a fence because it will detract from our view in the backyard, very natural with the woods there. I think it will be fine, but it is another expense that we really don't need right now. However, since I'm saving money now on the drapes, I think it's doable. Now to convince him....

Think I'm gonna lay down after this yahoo leaves. I just feel kinda blech today. Plus, it's overcast and yucky outside with storms predicted through the day.

We're right at 4.03 here. Just curious what prices are in different areas.

Hiya -

I'm a good babysitter!!! Just need someone to pay up for the airfare.....:goodvibes

Seriously though - me and a couple of friends do sitting on a returns basis, just once every month or so, that way we get to see a movie or eat out without the kids... and I get to do some crafts - tapestry etc when I go sit for them....

6 weeks off school - for the kids and me....!!!! When we go back I get to supervise year 1 lunchtimes (5 -6 years old) which is the year group I wanted, so I'm really pleased..
And, yes we get other breaks in the year over here - we get 6 weeks summer, starting back at the start of Sept, then 1 week at the end of October, 2 weeks at Christmas, 1 week in February (why????), 2 weeks at Easter(ish..) and 1 week at the end of May - We also get all our public holidays too e.g. May Day - first Monday in May... So we get plenty of breaks. I just love getting out of the everyday routines.

Got to feed the hungry hordes....

Tessa

We are at 3.88/gal it just went down last week

kara/cammie-i just read the hesaid/she said tr. How sad. Sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders though.

I've almost hit 500 posts!

Okay I am kind of scared. I read that TR and posted something that happened in my relationship. I do not want to be flammed but I thought they might help her find some solalce. Do I edit it or leave it??

Laura, I can't imagined why you would be flamed! You admitted that you "started it" but also owned up to the fact that therapy helped you and Tim. I think it's a great post from personal experience, and hopefully she'll be able to learn from it. I do believe that therapy is important for couples before they make that big jump to divorce, unless there is a catastrophic even involved (abuse, adultery....). Our lives our so crazy now that sometimes we forget who we are, because we are trying to be for someone else. I find that a lot myself. Which is why I take a LOT of hot bubble baths. With the bathroom door locked. No hubby. No child. No noise. Just me.

OK, who's watching Big Brother??? I already have a love/hate relationship with this season!

Who is tired of all the Heath Ledger headlines again now that Dark Knight has opened? My sister is an actress, and she said she understands how he got depressed, the way he got so engrossed in his roles. My argument is that shouldn't a "good" actor be able to turn the character off when they leave the set, and then back on again? If you have to live the role, that's not really acting, it's learning a new life. No wonder he was so depressed all the time?

Laura - I saw nothing wrong with your post either. I think it helps to hear from someone who may have gone through the same thing. Makes you feel like you're not alone.

Hi all

thanks Cammie and Kara. I needed that confirmation. I just hope everything works out okay for her family.

Good to see you Erin :)

Okay, so I'm shopping online at Disney. Get this warning that was on a cute $7.99 Lightnin McQueen bag...

This item is in stock. WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm.

I think I will pass....

Okay - so here is another interesting Disney Store fact:

Please note: Power Rangers items not available for sale or shipment in Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Macao, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, European, African (except South Africa) and Middle Eastern Countries.

AND>>> The kids are driving me nuts fighting over who gets to sit in the Time Out Chair - WTH????

Renee - you're just a wealth of info tonight! :rotfl2: Glad you made that decision about visiting your dad - I think it was smart (maybe because we all suggested it? :rolleyes1 ). Seriously, though.

OK, just back from taco night at the clubhouse - 3 tacos, your choice hard or soft, chicken or beef, $3. AND 2 for 1 margaritas! I passed on the margs tonight - still not feeling great. When will this cold pass????

So my neighbors are heading to Disney on Saturday (I think I hate them!) so I gave them my tips list. They are calling me tomorrow, the night before they leave, to ask questions. Some people just don't get it, huh? :sad2: YOU CAN'T PLAN A DISNEY TRIP THE NIGHT BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!!!!

I just saw on the news today that airlines are going to the govt for help with fuel. Get this, US Air has asked pilots to fly with less fuel now. It used to be they carried enough fuel for 45 extra minutes, in good weather. Now they're asking them to carry only enough for 15 extra minutes. That is scary!!!! But the weight of the fuel is what they're trying to eliminate, to get better mileage. This is why they have gotten rid of pillows and blankets, movie machines, and all kinds of other extras. It's also why they have limited baggage weight, and charge extra now. They say it costs them an average of $300 per person just in fuel costs!!! I don't see myself flying anywhere anytime soon now.

And this is what happens when I watch Fox News all day.....

don't tell me stuff like that. I will never want to fly.

I think living is known in the State of California to cause cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm. :)
