Yes, I've found those luggage tags - they're awesome to use! I actually made luggage tags for everyone on this last trip. Ungrateful pigs! OK, I feel better now. :rotfl2:

Well, I had my own little "Martha" moment. I actually took my LGMH; wrote my screen name in them; then put them between two sheets of laminating paper, cut it, hole-punched and VOILA -- made myself two bag tags! Yea me!

One of them did fall apart half way through the trip - but whatever!

We must be having trash week on tv again!! got it on in the background and guess what has just started!!!! Diagnosis Murder..... aaarrrrgghhhhh - remember that man's name - can I write it without any stars coming in... Di ck Van Dy ke....:rotfl:my goodness it is rubbish! We give you Hugh Laurie for House and we get him!!!! No deal!

Tessa:goodvibes

Oh yes, meant to comment on this also.

Criticize us Americans for giving you Diagnosis Murder, but remember: years later, we also gave you "ER" ........... and Mr. George Clooney! Now there's a doc I wouldn't mind going to for a complete physical!

Hiya -
can I out-Martha you??? (Whoever she is?? Sorry - a philistine from across the pond here...) I printed my LGMHs with my DIS tag on to shrink plastic, punched a hole one end and shrunk them, (ended up about 3 inches across) then put them on a clip onto my day bag for the park....

No one noticed though... probably as we went at a quiet time of year - with nice weather AND short lines....:goodvibes

Hi Cammie -
would that be the "confirmed bachelor" Mr George Clooney, who lives with a pot bellied pig ........ surely you've got to wonder.....:confused3 mind you the other ER chap- Croatian one, sorry not from over there.... can't really remember his name let alone spell it (Goran Visnjic???) mmmmmmm.....

Tessa

What is shrink plastic? :confused3

And Martha is Martha Stewart - the US know-it-all on home decorating, and all around homemaking skills. Although, she steals all her ideas from other people and then just presents them as her own. AND she was in prison for insider trading somethingorother.

Hi Kara,

shrink plastic is a sheet of (guess, wait for it.... ) plastic -that you print/stamp/write on, then cut it out and heat it up - it shrinks to about a 6th the size you started with. Starts about as thick as a piece of paper, ends up as thick as a coin....people use it to make personalised key chain tags and zip/phone tags etc...
Probably called something else over there.....

Tessa

Hi everyone!

Thank you for PMing me Cammie :goodvibes . I've been meaning to sit down and catch up here, but one thing leads to another etc.

Been back since last Tuesday night, but have been doing laundry, picking up clutter, appointments, softball and still trying to keep that "relaxed state" of mind going. Still doing good...the girls and I didn't wake up until 9:45 am today! That's unheard of in this house! Feels good though. Have been sad since we got home. On the flight home I was thinking of another time maybe I can take the girls by myself so I immediately start planning. I do it every year. I'll be looking for a FT job after my youngest goes to kindergarten this fall so I want us to do something together before then. Florida might just be too far to drive for me w/o the extra driver. Right now I reservations at VA Beach and Also Nags Head, NC but I secretly want to go back to WDW! If I drove to WDW the gas would be $500 for the round trip. I need to decide something fast though.

The trip was fun. It seemed to go by fast. Normally we do 1 park and 1 water park, but did 2 parks and waterpark and DQ. We get the parks etc out of the way in this first 5 days and then relax the rest. We stayed at SSR the first 3 days. We were in the Grandstand section. I am not a fan of SSR. That's all that was available at the time so we took it. The resort and rooms itself is nice, but everything is so far away and it's still new so the trees etc aren't big and mature yet. MK was fun, but hot. At first I couldn't find my charger so I wasn't sure I'd get to talk with Cammie. I finally found it and charged up the phone and did get to talk with her. Hi Cammie!! I think it was just hard to meet up that day. I never heard my phone ringing. I think when I was on a ride she wasn't and vice versa, plus we were t here for rope drop and she was out at EMH the night before so didn't get there until later and it was really crowded too.

We did good with the FP system. Kids got to ride everything they wanted to and us as well. DH was still hunched over some from injuring his back, but it was getting better. The muscle relaxers helped, but made him really loopy (more than he normally is) and tired. McKenna loved BTMRR! She wouldn't get on Splash Mtn because she didn't want water in her face. :confused3

Wed. we moved to BCV our room was ready so the kids and DH went to SAB and I had to wait for luggage and Garden Grocer. We had a GREAT room location. Room 436. Pool View. Not too far from the main elevators and there were these awesome fireworks perfectly visible from our balcony. Better than Illuminations. At first we thought it was from Hollywood Studios, but it couldn't be because you can't see they from BCV. They were practicing for the 4th of July! I started to unpack and was waiting for Garden Grocer. I got a call that they were there and Bell Services would bring it up which they did, but after unpacking it I was missing a few things. I called GG and they said it was too many missing items so they checked with Bell Services and apparently there was another bag that THEY forgot and would bring it up now. An hour goes by so I called and finally they brought it up. Bell serives fault not GG. But I had to run out to Publix anyway because I must have been half asleep when I placed the order. I got spaghetti but forgot the sauce. Got ham and cheese but forgot the bread and mayo. So I had to run out anyway. I would use GG again, but make sure when they call you to get the # of bags you have so Bell services doesn't forgot one.

Around 8:45pm the day we checked in we just went out for a walk and was going to ride the boat over to the Boardwalk. To make it short...someone didn't show up for their Breathless cruise of the Epcot fireworks and the nice lady gave us a free one. I felt bad in a way because the people still had to pay the $300-$350 cost of the cruise. We did tip her like $50 becauase I read on the DIS that you tip the driver and she nice and nonchalantly said that it was her "waitress" job. She does it PT and has a 2 yo girl..plus I think that's why she was looking for someone to get on the boat as well..plus to make a family happy. After doing it, I don't think I'd pay that much to see the fireworks..I'd rather go to the spa.

Did Epcot and HS. McKenna loved TT. She was a little scared at first, but got over it. Did Soarin' (my 1st time) and I LOVED it. I thought I'd get sick, but there wasn't too much turning. I got sick in the Canada 360 movie years ago and try to avoid those things. It started T storming bad so we made our way from building to building and headed over to HS. All the FP were gone for Toy Story Mania..darn!! We did the Backlot Tour which we never done before and that was nice. Although it pales in comparison to the Universal Studios tour we did in Cali. back in '87. Didn't get to do PHD. I forgot it was show times and not a ride. McKenna was upset about that. We had a fun time though.

BB was fun. Got a great tan which I haven't had in awhile! DH did Slush & Gusher and hurt himself...yet again. Hmmm...is this the beginning of a midlife crisis? Although, there were guys much older than him coming off of Summit Plummit. DH is only 37 and thin, but has lost some of his muscle since he became a work a holic and stopped working out. (I am sooo not one to talk as I am very far from what I was when I was 21!)

Went to Coach and got a purse and Meghan her first Coach purse (and last one until she's older).

The rest of the time was just relaxing, hanging out at the Boardwalk (McKenna got to be part of the magic show that a magician was doing), swimming, more swimming, DQ (loved that too!)etc.

I don't know how we got everything in our luggage, but we did it. One piece of our luggage was missing and Fed Exed the next day, and we bought McKenna a giant Cinderella Castle playsey for Xmas and an Ariel doll and had it shipped, but only the doll arrived. But after a quick call they will ship the castle out ASAP. It was missing a ticket. Thankfully, I kept all the receipts and tracking #s for the things I had shipped!

The food was pretty disappointing this trip with the exception of Kona Cafe(which never diappoints!) had a shrimp roll there for an appetizer...yummmmm..you MUST try it and Yachtsman. Oh and Beaches & Cream..they always have the best burgers. We got a kitchen sink, too! My blood sugar was not good the next day, but I actually lost 5 lbs while there and from all the walking we did my blood sugar was lower then it had been in weeks!

McKenna loved the Sandcastle Club whicle we went to Yachtsman. Oh and she did the Campfire Smores Cookout too and liked that. The girls were going to do MYO T shirt too, but we never got around to it. I think next year we will skip a park and just do resort activities, movies, Cirque de Soleil, and maybe a water park.

Sorry this has been very long. It's 12pm and I am still in my jammies so I need to go get dressed. I want to go back!!!!!

Pam - glad you're back and thank you for the update! Sounds like a great trip! It's so hard to fit it all in, especially with the BW and DTD and so many things to do OUTSIDE the parks! But there's always next time..... :rolleyes1

Hey Pam - glad to see you stopped by! Trip sounded wonderful!

Yes, I think you should book that Mom & daughters trip ASAP! I've already got the ball rolling on my next one w/Lauren. I want to fit it in before my APs expire in June so I'm looking at 5 nights during Feb.break. I've already got the last two nights booked at the BWV, then wait-listed for the first three. My 7-month booking window opens on the 15th for the other resorts and I'm confident I'll be able to get something there. Thanks for your thoughts on SSR - it was actually one of the places I was thinking of checking. I've never stayed there; but haved stayed at OKW - which is lovely, but far from everything. How was the bus service? Maybe I'll just see if I can get into BCV for those first three nights; might be easiest.

BTMRR is Lauren's fave at MK; I think I rode that thing about a total of 8 times the three times we were at MK. We did make good use of FP also. Sorry you didn't get on Toy Story Mania. Don't want to rub it in - but it's such a fun ride! I'm writing about it in my next installment of my TR. The waits for it are incredible though. On our DHS day, we headed right over; the wait was posted at 45 minutes so we got a FP then jumped in stand by. Well, it was more like 75 minutes!!!! Was worth the wait though. We came back a few hours later, used the FP we had, then got another one - so we were able to ride three times that day. But it was an PM EMH and we headed back over after the late Fantasmic - I thought for sure the waits would have gone down. NOPE! At 11:30pm, the stand by wait was 90 minutes! Crazy!

I definitely am using GardenGrocer in Nov. - I'm anxious to give them a try. It would make my life a little easier. Glad to hear it went well.

Hope you can post some pix!

OK, Cammie - spill it! I am under the impresion that Toy Story Mania is just like Buzz Lightyear at MK?

Oh no - absolutely not! Much more fun!

You do have "shooters"; but your car spins through different rooms with different arcade games to play - kind of like the games you would see on a boardwalk. So, let's say you pull up in front of a giant screen and you have to burst balloons to rack up pts. - well, you aim your shooter and what appears on the screen is that you're shooting darts to burst the balloons; but some are filled with water and you get wet when your burst them.

Another screen (or arcade game) is see how many dishes you can break; your shooter is now dispensing balls at the plates; as they shatter, the 3-d effect makes you think the shattered plates are coming at you! I think there is 5 or 6 games you stop at.

And it's all very fast and wild; the cars jerk around quite a bit - I'm actually wondering how Amanda would do with all the jerkiness of this ride. But you have a little score screen in your car to compete against your other passenger. Seriously, we were grinning from ear to ear the whole time on this ride!

Do you get what I'm saying?

I think I get it! That sounds so completely different from anything there! Cool! :thumbsup2

Tessa - neat idea! How did it hold up???

And Tessa, You gave us (on BBCAmerica) that dreadful clean your rotten toliet show - :scared: What scared me the worse was the lady didn't put on gloves before she shoved her hand in the bowl to clean! OMG! Talk about making you

Hi everyone!
Been back since last Tuesday night, but have been doing laundry, picking up clutter, appointments, softball and still trying to keep that "relaxed state" of mind going.
So glad your trip was fun! That is the one thing I learned in April - you could stay there a month and still have to skip things!

Swim class was good. She did teach them how to dive. He had fun. I about had a stroke, but he had fun. It was hot in there too. Both DD & I had (literally) our hair wet from all the humidity and sweat! :scared:

I need to do so much today, but totally don't want to. Okay, someone kick me swiftly in the behind (Kara, I know I can count on you! :lmao: ). Why can't I get myself motivated to develop a diet plan and stick with it???? Here I sit 6 months later, still weighing the same 180lbs because I am too Lazy to do anything about it. I'd love to do JC, but I justify that 1-I already know the WW thing works, I'm just too lazy to keep track of everything and 2-I'd rather be spending those fees on my kids and 3-I'm a suck mom who eats out practically every meal. There I said it, as shameful as it is. My kids will take a homecooked meal as a TREAT at this point. How sick and sad is that. I so suck. I go through the drive thru this morning and have the lady over the speaker say... (are you sure you want egg on that - because I usually don't). HOW SAD IS IT THAT THEY KNOW MY VOICE! NOT MY FACE, MY VOICE! I have got to figure out something I can stick with and just do it. SIGH. I always say this.... It is a lack of planning thing pure and simple. I actually would rather eat veggies than anything. That is waht ticks me off the most. I just wait to the last minute and then scramble and then go pick something up. ERRR.

Thanks for listening to my little Off Topic Rant....

Oh Renee! Don't beat yourself up - you're not alone! I know that may not be much consolation but the reality is that with life being such that it is, many of us find it quicker, easier, and sometimes cheaper, to go the take-out route. And this certainly doesn't make you a "suck" mom - so stop thinking that!

It is a hard habit to break though. I think if you can commit yourself to sit down and make out a shopping list for all the meals you'll want for the week; then go food shopping. Knowing you have all the ingrediants at home to make a meal may make you feel guilty about going to a drive-thru at meal time. I know it works for me: do I spend $5 for a McDonald's value meal; or go home and make a sandwich with cold cuts I purchased over the weekend? I usually feel better keeping the five bucks for something else!

I hear ya about the weight thing too. I feel like I'm standing outside of my body, watching myself eating all the wrong things, knowing I shouldn't but yet I don't stop. I had gained alot of weight years ago - kept telling myself when I got to the next size, I would do something. I couldn't believe how I let myself go! Well, four years ago, I lost alot of that weight and I was thrilled. But here I am today, and I'm back up two sizes and I keep telling myself not to let it get any higher but ......... I don't do anything to prevent it!:headache: With it now being summer vacation, I can't get to the gym as much as I'd like so that's why I'm getting Lauren up to go for walks in the a.m.

I know this is all probably no help whatsoever - just want you to know you're not alone! And all of us like you just the way you are!

Wow, you suck!

Totally kidding! :rotfl2: Cammie is right though. We're all there. I did so great on JC but now I just flat out don't want to do it. I know HOW to eat, I know how MUCH to eat, I know WHAT to eat, but I just get lazy. I am almost back to my starting weight before JC! This move just did me in (at least that's what I'm telling myself!) and I have lost my motivation. I know that like anything, it takes about 3 weeks to commit it to habit. And now I'm telling myself that I'll go back to JC in the fall. But I really want it to magically go away (the weight and the jelly belly!), but it just doesn't work that way.

Sorry, but I had to laugh at your rant about the drive thru people knowing your voice! That's classic! :rotfl2:

And Jeff's is kind of an enabler. He was supportive when I started JC but he doesn't want me spending the money on their food again, and quite frankly I know I don't need to, because I can eat on my own and still watch my calories, but it's just so much easier that way! AND if I get to my goal weight of 120 by Feb, 2009, they refund 1/2 of my money to join (that's like $200!). So that is my new motivation. But I'm like 18 lbs away!!! It seems like so much, even though when I first joined, I dropped 22 lbs in 3 months. So I know it can be done. But like you, it's a motivation thing. And summer is so hard to exercise. It's just too darn hot!

Jillian - have you started JC yet? I know it works so maybe you can be our poster child and inspire us all! :thumbsup2

The screen enclosure is almost done. All the framework is up and they've screened in 2 out of the 3 sides. Now they'll build the kitchen into the other side and screen around it. Great, now the critters will find their way IN, but they won't be able to get OUT! Joy!

I just napped for about an hour and feeling crappy all over again.

Poor Ally - she went to a Jacksonville Suns (minor league baseball) game today with summer camp. I gave her $10 cause she really wanted a foam finger (why, I don't know!) or something, but I just checked online and they're $12.99! I hope someone lends her a couple bucks or she'll be devastated. That's all she was talking about!!!! See Renee? That's a sucky mom - I should have checked ahead of time!
